Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

Hi everyone, hope you all had a great turkey day!

Q about discounts.... last time we went to Disney we booked our trip and then the 30% discount came out on St Pat's day. Spent 4 hours on the phone to speak with a disney agent and we were able to apply the discount to our existing reservations and upgrade our room to Club Level. I'd like to try this again but was wondering:

Are we better off booking CL from the get go, and then apply a 30% discount if that discount ever comes out after booking?

OR, book a regular room and then upgrade if a discount comes out?

We are getting closer, it's just these little details that are holding me back from pulling the trigger and booking finally. Thanks so much for all the experts on this board!!

I am very excited to have booked our next trip "home" to the BCV for Food& Wine 2016. Please add us to the BOG List for October 22nd through October 29th. It will be me, DH & adult DS in a 1 BR BCV. Thank you Dee

:welcome: home!

I'll add you to the list.

Hi everyone!

Quick question for those of you more knowledgeable than I!

We are a party of four travelling (all family), and we've booked two rooms at the Yacht Club - as while we're close, we're not close enough to want to share a bed ;-)

I was wondering how I can ensure/request that we are assigned rooms with Queen Beds (and not a king bed or other configuration)?; also both reservations show up in my MDE account in this format:

12345678
and
12345678A

The "A" being the only difference between the two reservation numbers; does this mean we are likely to get rooms near each other/connecting - and if not, is that something I can request closer to check-in? (April 2016)

Although the number of King beds at the resort are limited, with only two to a room you are at a risk (not high, but there) of being assigned to a room with that bedding configuration, so I think you would be smart to add "Rooms with 2 Queen beds, please" to your reservations. You can do that now, or any time before your trip. I always add my requests when I book or shortly thereafter and then follow-up about 2 weeks before the trip to make sure my request is noted on my reservation.

I haven't booked a trip with more than one room, so hopefully others can help with the terminology you want- I think that you can link the two reservations together (maybe they already are) and request "Connecting/Adjoining rooms, please"

:thumbsup2

Darn well I just called and they said that discount isn't one of the ones that can be extended for your entire stay :(

The cast member did suggest calling back on January 1st when a new discount could come out that may end up covering our entire stay. I did however, after getting off the phone, simply go online and update my existing reservation to use the early 2016 discount for the first 3 nights of our stay. Hey almost $500 off is a pretty good start. Hopefully with the next discount it will cover all of our days and we can get a bigger chunk taken off :)

Congrats on your savings. I think it is best to get whatever deal you can, and then if something better comes along you can grab that.

Very happy news to share, our baby granddaughter was born today. We can't wait to see her (and her sweet family) in a couple of weeks. :flower:
So much to be thankful for!

Congratulations on the sweet addition to your family!

For those who have been wondering how long the Christmas decorations are usually in place at the resorts, mousesavers.com says:

"The decorations usually start coming down about January 3."

Thanks for the info!

My advice is to book the highest level of room now you would be comfortable paying the price if a discount didn't become available. Disney makes it very easy to change or even cancel reservations as long as you do it by the deadline (45 days for packages, 5 days for room only, I believe).

That way, you have something booked. If a discount does come out, then you can see if it something worth switching to.

If you book club level now, and a discount comes out, it won't necessarily mean you can apply to the discount to the room you have reserved. I believe it depends on how many rooms Disney allocates in each category with that offer. In most cases when you are "applying a discount" that was just released, I think that what is actually happening is that you are changing your reservation to something else that is available.

If my understanding of how this works is not correct, someone please chime in with the correct info.

ETA: Here are two examples for stays we had at the Hard Rock at US this year.

In the first case, we booked a standard room. When Annual Passholder rates came out, it was just $9 more per night to upgrade to club level over the price we had booked for our Feb trip. No brainer! For our August trip, we booked a standard room. When APH rates came out, the club level was $100 more per night, so we just went with a savings on our original booking instead.

I see you have me listed as "JanetMom Jan 2-??". I should tell you that it is Jan 2-9, but I'd rather keep the ?? because it makes me feel like I'll never have to leave. (Secret closet, here I come!) :)

Anyone staying May 2016, I just read that they extended the Flower and Garden Festival till May 30th!!!!! We were going to miss it by a week and now able to enjoy it, I've never been in May so this will be my first time at the Flower and Garden Festival!!! Staying at the Yacht Club will make it that much better!!! :D:D:D:banana:
We are! We have never been able to go to this. Now I'm excited!

Good evening all. Hope it's been a wonderful Thanksgiving for those who celebrate. Here in the UK the weather has taken a turn for the worse. We got the outside decorations up yesterday but today many of them suffered from high winds and need to be "re-planted". I've had a busy afternoon making Snowman Soup, Reindeer Noses, Elfs Kisses, Snowman Poop and Magic Reindeer Food. Ive also spent some time thinking about planning. Beaches and Cream or Captains Grill for lunch?

Sounds like a productive and creative afternoon.

I have never had lunch at Beaches & Cream but have eaten at Captain's Grille for lunch. My recommendation to you is to make a reservation for Beaches & Cream because you need it if you want to dine there. If you change your mind (within the cancellation window), you will have no problem getting into Captain's Grille for lunch instead.

Can anyone who has recently stayed at BC tell me what colors of the new refillable mugs are now available at BC? Do they have all the new colors? We arrive at BC on Tuesday!

I just booked our 1 night stay at the YC on Valentine's Day. Have never been but have always wanted to stay at the BC but YC looks just as nice! So excited!!!
We have a standard room...What are the odds we might get a balcony? And, I think the YC is all refurbished right?

Unless you are on the ground floor you will have a balcony, you'll have a little patio if you are on the ground floor. YC has not been refurbished yet, I think they have started on the CL lounge but there isn't any schedule yet for the rest.

Good morning!

We are having a great time!
Yesterday was the best - I was able to visit with Teena and we were able to see the Osbourne Lights one last time. Today is our MK day and tomorrow the Candlelight Procession

It has been a whirlwind trip!

While CBR is not the BC, we found out we really like it! We hated POR the one time we tried mod and didn't even stay there one night before we switched over, but we like the whole feel if the resort

Weather is great - 81 yesterday and same is forecasted for today

It sounds like you are having a wonderful trip. We were pleasantly surprised at our first stay in a moderate resort (POR). It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.
:)

Good Morning pretty people! This time next week my husband and I will be checking into BC for the first time. I'm so excited for this opportunity to take such a trip especially at this time of year and to celebrate with my husband, which is it's own special commodity. I will update and I'm sure take more pictures than anyone will need.

Is $431 more for a water view worth it?? just did the bounce back offer for next July this is for 6 nights we will be spending more time at the resort kids are 17 & 20. thinking for that price I could add another park day only did 2 as I could always add more later. For my discount and my arrival that is all that was open if I come a day later I can get a garden view!! thanks!!

Waiting for park hours to open to see if I will need another park day as if they are open late we could go to the other one that night!!

just so torn about the view! garden is a step up from standard correct?

Indeed - Standard view is the car park / less desirable areas, then garden view is the nice greenery sort of stuff, and water views are of the pools or lake.
