December 2015 Car Rental Rate watch

My 8 day rental for early December is staying right at $138 for a standard vehicle. I honestly think that is a great rate. BUT, I am thinking about upgrading to a premium for only $41. more. I can't decide; I do like a nice vehicle. There's always a chance I could end up with a premium on the full aisle as it is. Decisions, decisions.

I've noticed rates starting to finally go down a bit in the last week. Was able to re-book my inlaws mini van (Dec 10th to 25th) from $471 down to $460 with Alamo and now as of yesterday I got $434 with Enterprise. I was hoping for Enterprise to drop as they have the better rate for underage driver and my youngest brother in law who is 24 will be the second driver on that vehicle for the first week of the trip. From what I have figured out Alamo charges $25 a day for a driver under 25 but Enterprise only charges $10 per day extra. Anyway, just wanted to say it is worth re-checking your rates as I have seen quite a bit of movement in the rates this past week. Still waiting for something better for my week from December 17th to 27th. I am booked through Dollar but am hoping for a better rate through Enterprise or Alamo once we get closer.

I just got an economy car, since it's just DH and I on this trip, on Alamo for $91.85 December 10-15th with $30 visa code AD2338FDF and the Vegas Brazil LLC code 7016427!

I got a Chevy Malibu for $79 per week through Dollar. They had the compacts for even cheaper ..... I think it was $65.

We need a car in December for pick up in Orlando and drop off in Miami because of DCL cruise. Suggestions about where to start? Thank you,
Bobbi

I need a mini van for Dec 27-Jan 10 the prices seem very high for that time frame. Do you guys go directly to the different car rental sites or do you use carrentalsavers.com? I haven't rented a car in 17 years so this is all new to me.

I just checked my rates with those codes, and the SUV I currently have with Budget for $262 is a whopping $665!!! :faint:

Alamo has dropped for early December. Just booked a minivan 12/6 - 12/13, using coupon ad2338fdf and the psssholder code, for $213.05

i just got 119.75 for a standard (Assuming there still isn't a standard row and can still pick from full size row correct) using AD2338FDF and 7016427

thought I had posted my Dec rental. Had a mid-size Dollar for 12/4-12/8 using AAA and Dollar Express for $126.65. Just dropped it down to $112.04 today. Time to go re-check Alamo.

If I remember correctly . . . it started on the Dis when a poster meant to enter the Costco code [7014627] and transposed the numbers, resulting in this 'Vegas Brazil' discount. I don't think anyone really knows for sure what it is all about, but many have used it and had absolutely no problems. I personally prefer to use only discounts I know I am entitled to and know where they come from . . . but I certainly understand why others are going for it.

Edited: Here's the thread about it - http://disboards.com/threads/does-a...zil-llc-alamo-discount.3353157/#post-52654064

If you are a Costco member, and looking to rent a car, you need to check this site daily: https://www.costcotravel.com/Rental-Cars. The prices fluctuate day-to-day. So far, I'm spending $1,000 less than I had originally booked for, and i still have 2 months to go before my trip. Hopefully in that time I can save even more :)

Also, booking thru Costco you get a second driver included at no charge. I reserved our Alamo vehicle directly on the Alamo web site using the Costco contract code (7014627) and got the free second driver. You can also use an Alamo coupon code to get an additional discount.
