A das is given at guest relations not the kiosks. If you were asking at the kiosks you were asking at the wrong place and no wonder they told you no. As for people asking your needs, the people on this board have lived going to Disney with a variety of disabilities. They often have tips and ideas that you may not have though of. For example it was suggested to me many moons ago that my husband request stroller as a wheelchair tag because he was pushing out daughters' stroller like a walker due to a back issue. I never would have thought to ask and it made life much easier for him.
No I went to City hall and was turned down. I then saw a kiosk and asked. They saw my need not my chair at the kiosk. I am very well aware of what I need to do. They only saw my chair. Not my other medical needs. When I asked at the kiosk why they are not giving out DAS anymore and explained why lines would be very difficult which had nothing to do with my wheelchair they gave me one.
I am sure I am going to have the same issue again. Whatever happens we will try our best to enjoy the park. Some needs are extremely personal and embarrassing to talk about. If some one truly cared they could PM. But to publicly announce these are the areas I struggling in is so demeaning. Sorry. Really would you want to talk about extremely embarrassing issues to a full board of people. Maybe some sensitivity would help. Instead of the Wheelchair users to not apply.
My point is please see the person and not the wheelchair. However, even on this board no one is seeing what I am saying.
To be very honest one of the reasons I hardly go to this board anymore is how people do not read what is written and make demeaning assumptions. This board tends to push people away more than help. I pop in once and a while but mostly avoid the disability group.
Yes I can figure out how to deal with what causes issues in line for me does not make it pleasant or easy. There are ways to get on many rides and it works depending on the wait.
