just put "48hrsale" into the promo box, not the feel good one. I posted so fast that I only typed the code into the thread title and not the actual thread. lol

It's only good through March 31st, in case anyone is trying to go after that date.

I can't believe more people aren't talking about this!! Thanks so much for posting the code/deal. This saves us over $800 more than the general public discount did for GF during Easter week! I'm not a fan of being charged the entire amount right now, but the savings are too substantial not to take them. Don't forget to go through Ebates too!

emmabelle! Thank you so so much! I already had a trip booked through Orbitz with the packyourbags discount and this discount made the exact booking $72 less--so I rebooked and canceled the first reservation. The entire amount is a significant savings over any Disney discount, including the special code I got in email last week, which was a 30% savings off rack. The savings with the new Orbitz code is about 36% off rack--and I also used ebates--which I didn't even know about until I saw something here on the DIS last week.

Thanks to everyone. And good luck with all your bookings!

I was waiting for the "packyourbags" code to expire before making a reservation. This morning, I checked Orbitz site and saw the "48hrsale" code. The anticipation of waiting to see if it included WDW hotels and had no $150 cap was nerve wracking. It felt like it took forever for the page to load. :D

emmabelle, I hope you're still checking this thread. I was compelled to look at Orbitz again this morning and the rates had gone down yet again. So I rebooked my trip (yet again!) and saved an additional $45 on the reservation. This was using the 48HRSALE discount.

BTW, we have a kitty who must be your kitty's cousin! Same white splotch on the neck!

really? I will go check that out! :teeth:

that's my baby Jynx. :lovestruc He has a big white spot on his belly too!

Miffy

I just rebooked again to save $54. My credit card bill online looks crazy with pending charges from Orbitz. Hopefully they all drop off before the statement cuts!!!

Awesome! I charged everything to Paypal Credit (love that 6 months to pay w/o interest) and so far they've credited me the full amount of the canceled reservation within a few hours. I also went through ebates, and I haven't seen the cash back for today's booking yet, but I think they're on Pacific time, so it might take a while.

Reentering the info on MDE has been quite easy. I was originally going to get a refund from Orbitz (they have a great refund policy) but it was so much easier to rebook and cancel that I did it that way.

Jynx is so cute! Our cat, Bi (named after the Korean pop star), has little white bits on the ends of his back paws and the very end of his tail is white too. He really looks like he could be Jynx's cousin!

Have a great trip and thanks so much for your original posting, which has saved us $117 over the original booking I made. :flower:

no prob! Hoping people were able to take advantage of the discount! I love when other people post no cap codes! :D

Can you tell me about adding more than 2 adults situation with orbitz, i have 4 adults and one 15 year old. also, can i add tickets?

I ended up putting in the 4 adults and one teen along with the tickets and i would save $162.00, if that is correct.

Yes, thanks for posting this. I just cancelled my previous Orbitz reservation for Grand Floridian for the first week of February, and re-booked saving another $133. I am very nervous about it. Hope it works out okay. DH is going to flip when he sees my credit card bill, but I finally got our total cost down $311 (4 nights) over my original reservation through the Disney website.:flower:

Now I just have to be on the lookout for a no cap code that will cover our April 2016 trip at BWI, even though I am pretty happy with the 25% discount I got with my Disney Visa.

So should I use the Orbucks or uncheck the Orbucks that I gained yesterday since I'll be cancelling that one after I book this new one? I assume they'll deduct it from my credit if I were to use it now?

Use your Orbucks and let Orbitz figure it all out. I had the same dilemma, and after having an online chat with an Orbitz rep, I just decided to use the Orbucks. What the heck. It all evens out in the end. I was actually originally going to file a refund claim (Orbitz will refund you the difference if the price goes down on their website), but it was just so so so much easier to rebook and cancel, so I did that instead.

Ok 4th booking done. I had already linked my prior Orbitz reservation on MDE, so how do I get that one out? There isn't a button to cancel it, of course. My credit card is such a mess -- I almost hope no other deals come out, even though the AP deal should be out any day now....

My savings since I originally booked for my trip GF RPC Easter week:
1st booking 15% off WDW deal.
2nd booking PIN about 20% off.
3rd booking Orbitz 25.5% off.
4th booking Orbitz 29% off.

When you go to MDE, you'll see that your previous Orbitz booking doesn't exist anymore and you just enter the new confirmation code. It's worked for me several times now! I too rebooked 3 times. Crazy, but I've saved a lot, so that's more money to spend while I'm there!
