How safe is bell services?

We will be flying for the first time this Saturday. We will be taking Magical Express and having our bags delivered to our room. We will have our carry on with us when we arrive via the bus. If our room is not ready, we plan to leave our stuff with bell services and then go to EPCOT for dinner. We will have 2 iPads and a laptop. Will these items be safe stored with bell services?
My in-laws are renting a car at the airport instead of using ME, so we could put the stuff in the trunk if we need to.
Thanks

We do this all of the time. I just make sure that I bring an extra luggage lock that I can put onto the bag we're leaving with bell services

We've left our luggage with Bell Services numerous times, after departing from a Disney cruise, with IPads, MACs Jewelry & other Island souvenirs & NEVER had any issues.

I don't have any luggage locks, do you think I need one?

Do you use a luggage lock?

I think it's always a risk and I certainly wouldn't take any expensive jewelry. I think iPads and computers are okay, but realize it CAN happen... with ANYTHING. Luggage locks are a great idea, but not completely foolproof. If someone wants to get into something, they will find a way. We've never had an issue at Disney, but that doesn't mean we never will. I had a Coach purse (empty and just in my luggage) stolen before (not at Disney), but at a high end hotel (Four Seasons). I feel like I opened it to take some things out before I gave it to them to hold when our room wasn't ready, but I can't recall for sure if it was in there then or not, so it very well could've happened at the airport too, although I'm pretty sure I saw it in there when I went into it. Another time, I brought a bag of kisses with me on a trip (also not Disney), and they weren't there when we got our bags. I called my mother in law at home since she was watching our dogs to just double check that I even packed them, because who steals chocolate? But they weren't there. :confused3 Either way, no matter what it is, it's always a risk.

The front desk at the resorts have safety deposit boxes like the kind at a bank that you can use, but we've never had any problems when storing things with bell services.

We will be coming in this Saturday with lots o electronics, also. We always ask bell services to put our bag with the electronics and the good camera in the cage. They give you a separate ticket for that stuff.

I feel Bell Service is as safe as anywhere. I always lock my luggage, both checked and carry on. It's true if someone wants to get in a suitcase they will, but I'm not going to make it easy.
The only thing I've had go missing with Bell Service is food.

I had room toiletries from Portifino (Universal) that I packed to take home go missing from my checked luggage. I think it happened at airport. Maybe someone at mco has a sweet tooth and likes to be clean lol!

We, too, have left our carryon's with Bell Services numerous times with no issues but when we have electronics, I make sure I tell them so they can lock it up.

I have left my bags at bell services a lot and never had an issue. I have a very expensive clearly designer duffle and because I don't trust checking expensive things with the airlines, it is loaded with anything of value I'm taking, like electronics, jewelry, purses, shoes, etc. I feel like this sounds so snotty and I don't mean it that way, I just mean it in the sense of I've left them with a very clearly expensive bag and it was perfectly fine and everything was perfectly in place just as I had packed it.

When they brought our luggage to the room it was the only bag missing and I honestly freaked out, but then I realized the mistake. All of our other luggage was transported by ME from the airport whereas I had checked the bag myself and it was the only one without a yellow ME tag. As soon as I called they located it immediately and it was in my room in under 5 minutes without any part of it damaged, opened, or inside belongings touched. I try very hard to not be a snot about that bag but in the 5 minutes it was missing I was having a heart attack!

That said, I have never left that bag with bell services at any other hotel, anywhere. In Disney it has been perfectly fine every time I've left it.

I always use a luggage lock for bags with expensive electronics. Other bags I have not and nothing has been touched. I guess it is a risk whichever way you look at it. I wouldn't leave something that I couldn't replace (even if expensive) or is invaluable to me.

Definitely safer with bell services than in a car. We have done that multiple times with computers, iPads, etc. and never had any trouble. We don't even use locks on our luggage, the laptops and iPads are usually just in a regular backpack. They keep it locked up where only CMs can access it, and it's not worth their job to take something like that.
