Biggest ADR Letdown?

California Grill was our worst meal of our past trip. Service was horrible, sushi was premade and ice cold. As soon as the waiter found out I was in the mood for a soda and not ordering off the wine menu, our service noticeably declined. Never again. The pizza we had at Via Napoli the next night was 100% better.

I stayed away from the Sushi at California Grill, but I know what you mean about the wine. I honestly don't have any interest in wine and end up seeing this same resentment at various places all the time. But with that said the dinner I had at California Grill last weekend was easily one of the best meals of my life.

Ate at Tusker House for dinner last Saturday...it was pretty terrible. Probably the worst meal I've ever had at Disney World.

We had eaten breakfast there before and enjoyed it a lot, so we decided to try them for dinner....never again.

BOG is 2nd. It just doesn't live up to the hype. We've eaten all 3 meals there, each more than once, attempting to give it a fair shake. It's not BAD, it's just not that great. Certainly not remotely close to living up to the "best meal I've ever had at Disney" hype many here are quick to post.

We actually found just the opposite. They brought the food out TOO fast for us. It felt like we'd barely touched the salad and the next thing was out and then the next and then the next. I like a little more leisurely pace and it almost felt rushed. Still wonderful food--that would have been my only complaint.

I 100% agree with this. Went there for the first time last trip and it felt like they were just piling food on the table with no time between apps and entrees. We like to eat pretty slowly, especially when we are paying out the wazoo (OOP) to eat there and it was our one and only TS the whole trip.

We also waited a good while past our ADR time.

Dinner at BOG hands down. Overpriced, terrible food and even worse service. The atmosphere doesn't make up for it.
Wow I have to disagree with you on BOG. My wife and i went there last March the food was outstanding the waiter was very good, his suggestions right on the mark, including his wine recommendations and the atmosphere was very nice.

Teppan Edo. The food was mostly mediocre and a little over-cooked. Every Benihana I have been to has been better. However, the sake selection wasn't bad, and the sushi was pretty decent. I am really picky about sushi ever since we ate at Nobu in NY and a local place where the chef was trained in Japan and is a James Beard award winner, so pretty decent for me is probably good for a lot of people. I would eat their sushi again. However, the sushi technically comes from Tokyo Dining next door, which I would definitely try. The service at Teppan Edo was good and friendly, and the show was fun for DS. If you get there at opening, at least lunch, they do a small welcome ceremony, which was really cool.

EDIT: On the other foot, my biggest ADR surprise was Tusker House dinner. Very interesting, unique food for Disney. They had an excellent selection, and it all tasted fresh.

Sorry this probably has been answered somewhere else, but does Beast or Belle walk around during BOG dinner?

Belle is nowhere to be found. The Beast is there at dinner only, but he does not walk around the rooms. He is in a special area that you can go up and meet him after you're done with your meal. Photographs only...he doesn't do autographs.

Marrakesh, we went several years ago, food was so so, servings were small, and the staff was not very friendly

Via Napoli was the biggest disappointment for me. It was one I was really looking forward to and it ended up being one of our worst meals. The service was horrendous and the pizza was nothing special. I was glad I tried it, but definitely a one and done for me.

Le Cellier. I had the filet and I just wanted a filet with nice seasoning. Really does not need much more. The filet came on top of a really rich risotto and was covered with some really rich sauce. Was just too heavy for me. Would much rather have had a nice seasoned well-cooked filet with a baked potato. Simple. Will not eat here again.

Brown Derby-the chicken was over cooked and tough. It came with cous cous which was also overcooked and "gluey." I was so disappointed given all the hype and not to mention the price.

I have 2...

Le Cellier - there was so much hype and praise about this place, I thought it would be a home run and it wasn't at all. We had a bit of a wait for a table, they were so close together, our waiter was not very friendly, my steak was way under cooked, the unfriendly waiter was not very pleased about getting it corrected which took forever and it didn't even taste as good as Outback. We never went back.

Captain's Grill - this was being called a hidden gem when we went and while the service was terrific, it was the worst meal I was ever served in a restaurant. We tried their breakfast a couple of years later but we were still unimpressed and it's now off the list.

Yes! I forgot I had to send mine back too it was waaaaaay undercooked. In all honesty, I find the Outback better too. Also, we were seated RIGHT outside the bathrooms. We were too tired to ask to move.

It's a tie for us between Chef Mickey's and Sanaa. CM just is way too over-rated and over-priced. Sanaa was probably just a bad experience but we really wouldn't go out of our way to go back unless we were staying at AK and then I'd only get the Naan bread there. Of course, sometimes it only takes 1 bad dining experience to be a total letdown so for some the same place can be great, for other's not so much:confused3 ...and even for some...a place you love 1x can be a place you didn't the next...:thumbsup2 Although I have to admit CM was consistently bad, even when we would wait a few years to go back...;)

For me, the biggest ADR disappointments are the ones you work very hard to get because they are so popular, and then the food isn't that great or the experience just isn't what you thought it would be. We managed to secure a dinner BoG ADR back when it had only been open a few months, and it really wasn't that great. The food was so-so, and we were kind of underwhelmed with the whole experience. The only thing that was kind of worth it was the decor.

Le Cellier has been both good and bad for us, but after having been a couple of times, we have decided to pass on ADRs there in the future.

Boma. We aren't picky eaters, in fact we love trying new food. We have even had authentic African food before. Boma was big disappointment for us. They had a few "African and Indian" INSPIRED dishes, but they were all really bland. Pork shoulder cubes were disgusting, and only choice of carved beef was rare, so passed on that. Soups were outstanding, desserts were good, but otherwise we ate very little of anything else. Too bad, because we were really looking forward to that ADR.

Dinner at Kona. The service was great, we had a wonderful waiter, but the food was just... Meh. :sad2: I was really looking forward to that meal too.

My worst experience ever was at BOG. The atmosphere was lovely but I have had better food at a rest area Roy Rogers in the middle of the night.
