Hey everyone! Just wanted to remind you that our newest podcast in The DIS Unplugged Podcast Network - Connecting with Walt - is now available. Listen here now!

Connecting with Walt will dive deep into the history of Walt Disney and Walt Disney World in 4 or 5 episode installment blocks released on Fridays every 3 months. Currently, Connecting with Walt will be in the Disney World feed for The DIS Unplugged on iTunes, so if you're already subscribed to it then you will receive the episodes automatically!

Connecting with Walt is hosted by Michael Bowling from The DIS Unplugged: Disneyland Edition. If you haven't listened to Michael's history segments on the Disneyland show then do yourself a favor and start listening to them in our archives at disunplugged.com.

We'd love to hear any feedback you may have about our new show, so please leave any comments or suggestions in this thread. Thanks and we hope you enjoy it!

Great show! Looking forward to every Friday this month. And in the meantime, I'm going to start making my way through Michael's history segments on the Disneyland show. A first for me. Thanks for all your hard work - - keep it up!

I haven't listened to the podcast yet, but I've listened to similar background/history segments and they are quite interesting(to me). I like that you've added this, and I've listened to some of Michael's work and have really enjoyed his take on things. Looking forward to listening!

Great podcast! Really looking for to episodes 4 and 5............I've read Marty Sklar's book about working at Disney and really found the section about after Walt's passing and how it impacted the creation of WDW to be fascinating. Really looking forward to Michaels' take on all that.

I enjoyed this episode very much and I'm looking forward to the rest of the episodes in this series.

I know that the DIS Unplugged Orlando team hasn't discussed the PBS documentary yet. I would
like to have both the Disney World and Disneyland teams discuss this documentary. What did you
like about it; dislike about it; didn't agree with; and what was overlooked (like the Audio-Animatronics,
which was mentioned in this episode of "Connecting With Walt")?

I did enjoy the PBS documentary. I didn't agree with all of the "critic's" commentary. When I finished
watching the documentary my first thought was that this program needed to be 5 parts/10 hours long.
Much too difficult to completely cover this subject matter in only four hours.

I would have liked the documentary to be structured as follows:

Episode 1: Walt Before Mickey

Episode 2: The Beginning of Disney Films

Episode 3: Disneyland

Episode 4: Walt Disney World - The Magic Kingdom and the Unrealized EPCOT

Episode 5: The Impact of Walt Disney

I loved loved the intro music it's so mainstreet USA!

The ONLY constructive critism I have is that unlike the other history segment show this one just seemed to be all over the place and non focused as your other segments Michael again I know it's the first show so just throwing my opinion in!

Thank you for listening to our debut episode. Craig and I discuss the PBS Walt Disney: American Experience documentary in Episode 2 of Connecting with Walt. I discuss it in more detail with the Disneyland Team on our September 20, 2015, show. Here is a link to that show. http://www.disunplugged.com/2015/09/22/dis-unplugged-podcast-092015-disneyland-show/

I hope you continue to enjoy the Connecting with Walt podcast. Thank you for making me and Craig a part of your day!

I really enjoyed the show and think the format works very well! I like having the two very different perspectives of Michael and Craig working together in a dialogue format. I prefer my podcasts to be more like a conversation and not an audio book and the way the show was structured, it seemed to combine dialogue with a lot of information in a good way. Sometimes I got the impression that both still kind of need to become more of a team, but in general I think this has great potential! Looking forward to the new episodes!

Thank you so much for listening and adding Connecting with Walt to your podcast rotation. Your observation about the first episode being different from the traditional history-focused episodes is correct. We took on the broad topic of Walt's vision and character to give some insight into his decisions for the Florida Project as he saw it. Connecting with Walt will have the traditional history-focused format for a majority of episodes, but with this show I am hoping to expand with different types of formats every so often. I hope you continue to find the show interesting and entertaining and continue to share your thoughts.

Thank you for making this podcast. I have been wondering if you guys would ever do something for Walt Disney World history, and here it is. Yay!

The first episode was so entertaining I listened to it twice, back-to-back. I like the casual discussion format between Craig and Michael - like it is two good friends sharing information and thoughts. I wouldn't change anything about that.

I look forward to the next episodes. Again, thank you!
