Disney Fantasy problem?

The Disney Fantasy is just now docking at its terminal (9:30AM) about 3 hours plus late with tug boat assist.

My DW and I also saw the Fantasy coming into port this morning on the Port Canaveral Web cam. Our friends were on that cruise. I've sent them a text and asked them why so late. I'm still waiting for a reply. I hope a lot of those passengers haven't booked an early flight back home. We heard it was a rough cruise. We hope everyone is safe.

Thanks for the info Coach and looking forward to hearing more. May be late from the hurricane but wonder why the tug boat assist. That is not the norm.

This may be one of those times when you won't be able to enter the terminal until your PAT.

You would be correct Weedy. Could be a longer wait for some folks today.

I would have to guess that they are holding the buses leaving from the airport (at least I hope they are). It would be complete chaos to have two sets of passengers (and luggage) at the port at the same time.

When it comes in normally at 5 am it always has a tug boat to assist. I watch it most mornings.

A pilot will go on at sea before the port and most ports have tugs available if required.

She followed the coast of Cuba at a slow speed due to the course devaition, which would likely easily course the delay.

As mentioned, never book a flight to early

These things rarely happen, but they do happen.

It was posted by a cruiser on the Fantasy they were advised yesterday (last night?) they'd be delayed coming in due to the deviated course and weather.

i don't know if it always has a tug boat assist. this is what port canaveral posted on their Facebook page today…..'Tugboat assist for the arrival of DISNEY FANTASY this morning due to high winds from Hurricane Joaquin'. doesn't make it sound like it always has a tub boat assist. i would think the port would know why it had to have a tug boat assist.

There is always one there, watch any DCL arrival there . It's 5 am USA time like clockwork, there is a light pilot boat there as well, with flashing blue lights.

Agreed, pilot boat is present while maneuvering through the channel...but the last tug assist I remember was Fantasy's arrival after Hurricane Sandy. For our cruises on Dream / Wonder / Fantasy we have never required tug assist during PC docking. Not arguing there isn't a tug there on standby, we've just never encountered it. Glad to see they arrived home safely.

I was on board

Issue 1 was deviation from original course

However last night engines over heated

It was a nightmare getting off. Pushing and shoving.

Disney have more control over lines for Pluto then the lines for exiting

Miss flights

Thanks for the report.

A TA on another site posted an email he received from DCL. DCL is opening the terminal at 12pm for embarkation and there will be a 2 hour delay for the boarding process.
