Heading home after 10 great days

No storms so that was great. Disney was watching Erika and sent letter around to notify us all but nothing came of it. We had site 1708 - nice loop. Quiet and not crowded at all. Parks were great - busier the first week and semi-dead the last 3-4 days. Walked on RnR twice and got the front seat! Rode the carousel with Lady Tremaine. That was fun even if she did insult me! Also had to walk off Splash after it broke down. Got two sets of special fastpasses for our trouble
Didn't need to use them so that's a nice keepsake for us. As usual loves the Fort. They added a screen showing bus arrival times at the outpost - great addition so you know when to expect the bus you want
Overall a great trip. Just to get home now. About 7 hours into a 19-20 hour drive back to upstate NY.

Glad you had a great time and missed Erika!

That is great news about posted arrival times!!!

Best to you on your long commute back. We just did 9 hours coming back from visiting the Smoky Mountains and for some reason being pregnant and making the trip felt like 50. Not looking forward to our 16 hour Fort drive in January.

Safe travels.

Sounds like a great trip. And the drive back is always the worst. Safe travels and tell us more about your stay once you get home.

and for some reason being pregnant...
Melissa,

Congrats! Did I just miss a mention or is this the announcement to the Fort Family?

Also, was thinking of you and your family this week. My DS took a field trip to the Farm Progress Show in Decatur for his Intro to Ag class. He had a ball.

Glad you had a great trip and thanks on the mention of the new bus wait time screen.

You guys be careful on your way back.

I did mention it a couple weeks back :) Thank you!

We came back from TN late Tuesday evening and attended the Farm Progress Show on Wednesday. It is held in Decatur every other year and just a quick drive for us. There were license plates from all over the country and we are blessed to live so close. They now allow you to bring in golf carts which is fantastic because it was a sweltering 93 degrees! Cost us $50 for the daily permit (ouch) but it allowed us to tour the entire event which is like six sq. miles or something like that with two children in tow. Lots of huge exhibits and most equipment we will never get close to owning but still nice to look at. Most the equipment we use is from the 60s and 70s and some 80s. Old but still in working condition! Hubby tries to borrow as little from the bank as possible and has no problem keeping old equipment running and not worrying as much to what the farmer down the road is doing. I'm proud to say that if you look up Piatt County yields records, you'll find hubby holds a few of them.

I love that the Ag kids get to come to the show. Lots of kids there that day. Did your Son get a complimentary Stone Seed shirt that says I live I work I farm? That is where we get our seed from.

Harvest is right around the corner for us! Little Grace + Daniel are done with their lessons by 1 and then straight for the semi, grain cart or combine helping out.

That's very exciting about the bus arrival time screen!! We need pictures from somebody going soon. I don't know why, but for me knowing when the bus is coming makes the wait seem so much less than not knowing.

It's funny, but the elevators at work are like that. The ones without the floor indicator take MUCH longer to come. :confused3

Sorry for hijacking the thread, but my DS just missed out on the shirt. There were 18 kids from our school that went up. About half got the shirts. He was the most excited to meet Mike Rowe and shake his hand.

He has a picture sitting in the cab of a combine. Then he says being a farmer is easy. I laughed. He said it's because the combine had GPS, auto tracking, a TV and A/C. I said most don't and I'd be happy to send him up your way for harvest and he can see how "easy" it is. :thumbsup2
