Tipping, tax & Connections vouchers...

I am thinking about getting a few Connections vouchers, and I see that tax and gratuity are included in the voucher...Here's a few questions...

What % gratuity? And are you really comfortable just leaving the voucher, or does anyone feel compelled to tip on top of the voucher? I used to wait tables so it would feel really strange leaving nothing - but a voucher. How do you handle this?

Also what is the FL tax on meals? I'm trying to crunch a few numbers to decide which restaurants it will be worth using vouchers at for us, but I can't figure this out without knowing the tax %.

Thanks!

Tax is 6% most places in WDW, 7% in Osceola County which includes All-Stars, AK and AKL.

We bought vouchers to use at Beaches and Cream. We left a tip for our waiter anyway...he was fantastic, and we still saved a ton of money.

The vouchers include a 15% gratuity and the appicable tax for the region. When using them at counter service eateries (I did at Tusker's in AK), tipping isn't really customary, so you probably needn't think about it there...at least, I never do.
I generally tip 20% for table service, so I leave the extra 5%. If the service was bad, I wouldn't.
At Beaches & Cream we received such friendly service and an extra drink free that we left more than the 5% difference.
I used vouchers twice at Beaches & Cream and neither time did the servers seem to expect more. But obviously they were very grateful and graciously accepted the extra.

Funny this should pop up now. Just a couple of days ago I mentioned these vouchers in the "worst advice" thread.

If I remember right they stopped offering them in 2005? .

I always wondered how people find these zombie threads? I guess they just search them... but this seems very random!

Why did you resurrect a 14 year old thread? Not helpful to folks trying to plan now

What sometimes happens is that a Spambot bumps the thread and that message is deleted. So, it looks like the next poster is the bumper, but they are not. Could be what happened here.

I think the moderators need to look into having inacttive threads automatically locking after a certain period of time to prevent these old things from being resurrected.
