Wet, Sweat, Fun & Sun But You Have HOW Many Snack Credits Left?

We rode the Resort Monorail back around the loop to the Magic Kingdom. We went through security and then found a spot in front of the train station to stand and wait for the Opening Ceremony (rope drop). Mike took these as we waited.

The Mayor of Main Street opens the character filled ceremony.

The family.......

Back to the ceremony.

The Opening Ceremony continued:

The fireworks & streamers finale.

We waited for the crowd to thin in front of the floral Mickey & Train Station to get this picture....unfortunately no Photopass Photographer.

We went to the City Hall to looking into getting a Disability Access Service Card (DAS) for Michayla and found out that we needed to go to the left of City Hall to get that. So we got in line to get the card & Mike snapped a couple pictures of Main Street.

Getting the DAS went smoothly and it's linked to her MagicBand. Anytime we went to an attraction to get a return time, they would scan her MagicBand. The rest of the family was also linked. When you return to ride, Michayla's band had to scan first and then the rest of us. It worked very easily and we found with her being in a wheelchair also, that we didn't use the DAS as much as some other families might.

Yay finally a park day. That stinks that you got up so early and it wasn't open. I think I had that at DL once. We are going in Oct and they STILL don't have the hours up yet. I don't know why in the heck they wait so long when you can make ADRS 60 days out you need to know park hours for that!! One thing we have always noticed is that the parks in Florida always seem to open later and close earlier than DL. I would have thought since it was summer they would open earlier but guess not. And no offense but that food didn't look that great. Did it taste better than it looked? I'm really surprised because we always found the food in Florida to be much better than at DL. And I LOVE the opening stuff that they do. I don't know why they don't do it at DL other than there is not enough space maybe? But it is so fun!!

Oh well, it gave us time to eat & not be rushed. We made it to the opening ceremony which was one of the things I definitely wanted to get to. If we had waited to come over, the bus ride would have been packed!

Disneyland keeping their hours secret is so stupid.....I've never understood why.

The food at Contempo Café was your average breakfast fare at quick service/food courts. The GF Mickey waffles were good, the breakfast sandwich & burrito seemed to be a hit but the rest was average at best.

Glad to hear the DAS went well. I love the girls dresses

Thanks!! I ordered Shy's & Michayla's off of Etsy. The DAS was easy to get & easy to use. The only complaint I had was you had to go to each attraction to get your return time where at Disneyland they had Kiosks set up you could go to, to get return times for any of the attractions. That was more convenient then running from one side of the park to the other to get a return time and then back across to get to your Fastpass+ ride. (which did happen to us).

I just love the opening ceremony, I think it's the perfect way to start each trip!

I'm glad the DAS was easy to get and use.

Yea sometimes stuff tastes better than it looked but esp the sausage or whatever it was didn't look that great but glad you were able to relax and enjoy your time. Had it been one of the other parks you may have been stuck although I think it was our frist trip to DW we got there early and they asked if we were interested in going to breakfast at the plaza or whatever it is called that has all the pooh characters and is on Main street. We did and it was really fun. Plus we got to see the park with no one in it so that was a bonus. ;)

Wow that opening ceremony looks so neat! Do they do that every day?

It was a cute little show! As far as I know, yes, they do this daily.....but I'm not sure about during the holiday season. (?)

I'm so glad we got there early to see this, as if you continue to follow along on my report, you'll see that early mornings became an issue.

After all the reports of nightmares on getting a DAS or it didn't fit our needs, I was worried....but we really didn't use it very much at all. Either we had good timing at some of the attractions we were going to use it on or because of the wheelchair, they just did it differently.

The sausage was pretty blah and Mike's potatoes definitely looked overcooked, but the rest was ok.

Crystal Palace is the restaurant with Pooh & Friends. We do a dinner there later in the report! We had thought about doing an early morning breakfast, but Derek isn't much of a breakfast person (neither am I) so I didn't really try for a pre-opening one........even though walking down Main Street empty would have totally made it worth it!!

I love the Magic Kingdom welcome show! Enjoying your trip report!

Thank you & Welcome!! The show was fun with all the different characters coming in on the train. Would love to be the "chosen" family.....that would be amazing!!

Yea at home I usually just have a bowl of cereal or a coffee. Not a big breakfast eater and I do like a big breakfast once in a blue moon on a special occasion but that is why when we go to DL we always just eat what's at our hotel. We are staying at the Hilton this time though and they don't have the continental so not sure what we are going to do this time cuz not really much between there and the parks either. But at DW we eat in our room if we have a timeshare or if onsite we used our snack credits like you did. Crystal Palace that's right. I have only done it that one time but we enjoyed it.

Special occasions I will do breakfast but I've fallen into a nasty habit of not eating breakfast again. Got to get back on track with my healthier eating now that the trip is over.

Great shot in front of MK! Loving all your pictures. Can't wait to hear more.

Thank You & Welcome!!

Now that we have our DAS on Michayla's MagicBand, we headed down Main Street.

We made a stop at the restrooms just past Casey's Corner & back by the First Aid & Baby Center. Derek took a few pictures of the fountain.....love the first one!!

We passed the Horse-Drawn Trolley.

We wandered through Liberty Square.

We were on a mission to get to Peter Pan!!

We passed the Haunted Mansion.

We finally made it to Fantasyland & Peter Pan. This was our first Fastpass+ attraction. No on-ride pics, none of them came out.

This was Jasmin's first ride ever and she wasn't sure if she liked it or not. So we decided to take them on It's A Small World next.....we figured this would be a safe, calm ride that Jasmin would enjoy. We asked about getting a return time on the DAS, but since there wasn't a crowd, they sent us down to the exit for the wheelchair to enter. We walked down and right onto a boat. The twins love this ride and the music and rock back & forth to it.

More Small World to come!

More of Small World.

I really enjoyed the WDW version of this ride. The layout is different and there are different things to see. I also enjoy it staying with just the original Mary Blair dolls. Disneyland has added characters from movies and placed them in the appropriate countries but I'm not a huge fan of these new additions......especially the Woody & Jessie dolls.....they look so out of place there.

We decided to take a ride on the carrousel and walked around the whole thing to find the wheelchair entrance (which is the exit). There was only one CM working and when the ride ended, she walked by and didn't even acknowledge us standing there. She never came back by and so the ride started back up without us getting on. Michayla was freaking out & in a meltdown as she didn't understand why we weren't getting on. While I dealt with Michayla, Mike took some pictures of the castle.

We also got to watch the little show around the Sword in the Stone. The big strong men can't pull it out but "ta-da", a young child is able to lift the sword.

I realized the Fairytale Hall was directly behind us. This is where they do the Meet-n-Greets for Anna & Elsa and also Rapunzel & Cinderella. Look at the wait time for the super popular Anna & Elsa!!! (we will see them later on our Fastpass+).

When the carrousel stopped, the CM finally noticed us and said she would let us in once everyone had exited. Michayla was full on meltdown at this point but as soon as I unbuckled her, she knew she was going to get on and she calmed down. These are the pictures Mike got on the carrousel.

Now that Michayla was happy again, we went towards the Winnie the Pooh ride. We had stopped for a return time after we rode Small World. These are while we were in line.

We got right up to the loading platform and the ride broke down. They really didn't say how long they thought it would be down, so some people left when they stopped allowing people to enter the Stand-by line. We decided to wait, as we knew we would see the "Meltdown of all Meltdowns" if we left without riding Pooh. This is hands down, Michayla's favorite ride. We saw all the people on the ride get walked out and we saw a lot of maintenance CM's wandering around as well as what I call "suits". He told us it should be up and running in a few minutes and apologized for it being broke down.

In fact the CM's working the ride were very apologetic. I said "it is what it is"....they don't control mechanical hiccups. I think we stood and waited around 20 minutes or so and then once it was running, we were put on the ride & off we went.

We got near the end of the ride and it broke down again. "They have a honey spill that has stopped the ride". Mike took these while we were stopped.

We sat and waited and then were told the CM's would be around to let us off the ride to walk up to the loading platform. Mike took this as we were walking out of the ride.

They gave our family a re-entry Fastpass for any ride....which was very nice of them when we got back to the loading platform. I'm glad we got through almost the entire ride before it broke down again. Michayla was happy!

We still had some time before the girls appointment at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, so we went to the Mad Tea Party & waited at the wheelchair exit (as directed by the CM when I inquired about a return time). We got on the very next go-round. The first three pictures are off of Derek's iPod.

These are off Mike's camera.

When we got off the ride, we got to see Pooh Bear walking by.

Potty break at the Tangled area restrooms. Derek took a lot of what he calls "Stock Photos" of the area that we can use on our trip videos. He does a great job!!

Once everyone was done, we separated with Mike & I taking the 4 girls towards the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique and Derek was going to take Tony to the Contemporary Resort to rent a boat.

I don't understand why I don't get alerts about your updates. I'm glad you posted that on Facebook. Everyone looks to be having a wonderful time! I personally love the breakfast sandwich with sunglasses.
