Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

8 days before we leave...I have a double ear infection...5 days of antibiotics. ugh. Due to the meds, now I feel worse then I did before I went to the doctors. ugh. Glad I'll be done the meds on Friday.
Look at the bright side, the fact that you are on antibiotics will help you from getting anything else for your trip! :confused3

Hope you feel better soon, and glad that you got it now and not later in the week!!

:(

I hear you on that! I came home from one trip with pneumonia and I just got off the antibiotics on Thursday. Felt lousy on Friday, but have been much better since then. I leave Wednesday for Florida. I feel ready. I hope you have a similar successful recovery!

The crowds were okay. I follow easywdw to decide wherewe should go. Every time we bucked that trend, the crowds were higher. Our schools always start the last week in August, so the last two summers, we've been there the week before. Things were manageable as long as I had a good plan in place. My friends who've been there the last week said it's practically dead, so you should be good to go!

.
I should stop planning and replanning. I need to stop. I just checked out easywdw after seeing this and am frustrated that it has a different crowd prediction for the first day we are there (planning MK) than is on TP which I usually use. I have 8am BOG reservations so I think it wouldn't be work tinkering with but I think I need some sort of cutoff here on the planning and replanning and second guessing! 19 more sleeps. :laundy:

It sounds like you are on Zithromax, which should do the trick; you'll probably start to feel better in about three days, and the antibiotic will stay in your system for ten days. Don't forget to try to have at least one yogurt each day, to avoid stomach upset.

Did your doc give you anything for the flight, so that your ears will be okay?

It sounds like you will be just fine for the trip. Feel better soon!

That is what I found on our last trip. TP's was off and I should of went with easywdw because they were spot on the days we followed their crowd levels. It was my first year not following TP 100% I wish I followed it sooner.

:welcome:

Do you have an upcoming trip? When?

No rush in finishing up or catching up on the thread. I will be starting a new one as this one approaches 250 pages. I haven't had confirmation that is the current page limit, but the last thread was shut down without notice, and I have not been able to find out what the actual page number limit is, so I will be on the safe side this time.

:goodvibes:

Thanks for the welcome, on this thread! :) I actually posted on the last one, but then got caught up in my DD's wedding planning and by the time I got back, that thread was closed.
We are hoping to go back in October 2017. Have been to WL and the villas on our last 2 trips and decided it was time to try hanging out in the Epcot area. We loved staying in the villas, so I am hoping to get a 2BR BCV for our 2017 trip. (we need 2 years to recover from paying for the wedding!)
We stayed in the BC during its opening year for a short stay, (for 125.00 a night!), but being near the castle has always been important to me. The Poly was our favorite back in the 90's. But I loved the BC so much that I bought hand towels in light teal and coral to remind me of the colors there.
I love this thread, btw. Everyone is friendly and helpful, plus you have a wonderful resource, Teena! I hope she will still be working there when we go.
Ok, back to p. 153 in my catch-up!

We were also at DHS last night (best fireworks ever!!) & after seeing the line for the boat made a beeline for a cab. Best $15 (tip included) that I have ever spent in my life. We were probably home showered, & tucked in before many in the line even got on a boat. Just a tip for anyone looking to escape the closing crowds :).
That's a great idea actually. I don't know if I'd take a taxi from DHS back to BC, maybe, but definitely from MK.

I have finally caught up on the updates to the Be Our Guest list. I would appreciate if you could look it over and let me know if anything needs to be corrected.

Thanks!

Be Our Guest List

:cool1:
We're pushing back our trip, again. It was just too complicated with separate spring breaks. So our new dates are May 30-June 5... hopefully. ;)

Another lifetime TP user here. (Anyone remember Tourguide Mike?)

Now I use them but don't let them dictate which park. I like the historical numbers on TP. So I use TP and I pull in/chart easywdw on my spreadsheet and come to a happy medium.

And there is a cutoff. Two weeks out seems like it may be good choice in your circumstance. And don't fret it too much. After your cutoff just accept the attitude that the park I'm in today is the BEST EVER!

Guys!! I'm so happy to be able to report that I will be back home (at the Beach Club, of course!) October 12-19! I've convinced my best friend, who has not been to WDW in 5+ years, to join my crazy self on this adventure.

Booking was quite something.. the Thursday smack dab in the middle of our trip was unavailable! Just Thursday night. So we decided to do a split stay BC/Poly.. but Thursday and Friday were unavailable at the Poly as well. This is through one of those magical deals. Rack rate happened to be available at the Poly for Thursday night only so our trip looked like this: Mon-Wed nights at BC, Thursday at Poly, Fri-Sun nights back at BC. Yikes. We had also checked Yacht, Boardwalk and Swan/Dolphin and there was no availability at any of those for a split stay either.

So after much daily stalking of the Disney website I was ecstatic to see availability pop up for Beach Club Thursday night, same room category as the other bookings! Now I have 3 separate reservations but at least they are all at the same resort. I am hoping that they will just keep us in the same room for all 3 reservations since the booking category is the same. Anybody here have any experience with this at Beach Club??

Regardless I am SO excited to be coming back and even more excited to introduce the bestie to the Beach Club!

I just printed our boarding passes for Southwest. Got awesome position with EBCI. A30-34. We are so excited!!

For anyone who is there now how has the rain been?? My XH has a friend that is there and he said that they said the rain is horrible and non stop. I know it rains in August. I expect it and plan to trek through it. But he made it sound unbearable.

I haven't done split stay multi reservations at the BC but have at CR and Poly. Both times they had no problems with keeping us in the same room. At CR I didn't have to go back to the desk to redo the credit card but at Poly I did. No idea why one did it different than the other but it wasn't a huge issue.
More ridiculous part was we got 1 set of MB for each reservation. So you'll get 3. Though now you can decline MB online so you should be able to get 1 set.

I know the first of the month was more rainy than normal. Way more than the pop up afternoon storms that are so common in the South. It didn't ruin our trip but it did force us to change plans a few times. We also learned that umbrellas turned out to be much better than ponchos. It got really old pulling ponchos off and on each time we got in line for a ride. They put CMs there to remind you to remove them. On/off/on/off/on/off, just a PITA to pull it over our head. An umbrella turned out to be so much easier. I had them to use as shade anyway so we just kept a Disney shopping bag to put them in when we got in a line.

4 days to go!! I feel like I have a million things to do but here I sit reading the Dis!

Did online check in...Plane lands at 1:30. Does 3:00 sound like a good resort ETA?

I don't know if you are referring to the arrival time you put for online check in?? But if you are I put the time my plane lands.

Awesome! I hope it works out that way for us. I'm so glad they added an option to decline MB now. I do not need anymore of those things, let alone 3 more!

I should have included that after I booked I called to have them connect the reservations and when I checked in for the 1st reservations I specifically ask for them to check my other stays and see if they show we'll stay in the same room.
