2016 Bounceback Offers

We usually travel to WDW every few years so we've never had an opportunity to use a BB offer, so I've never really looked into them before. This year my DH and I will be at WDW in November and I'm trying to plan a family get together with my parents and brothers and their family for the end of May/early June 2016. I am hoping that when we are there in November I get a BB offer for a RO discount. If I do get the offer and if it is for the time we want to travel, can I call and reserve 5-6 rooms and apply the offer to all of the rooms if they are under my name? Or is it just for one room?

Also, I know the offer is subject to change, but does anyone know if historically the BB RO offers can be applied to CL or Savannah View

Thanks,
Laurie

We booked a bounce back when we visited in Jan 2015. As of then, you could book a CL room with the discount. We booked a deluxe room at WL.

I just wanted to add to all the above information that not all room types are offered in the Room Only BB. We stayed at BWI last December and got a BB for this coming November. When we called the only rooms offered were waterview and standard club level view. We really only wanted the non club level standard view, but took the waterview. I'm not complaining, because we could have not booked it, but to get 35% off, we had to pay more to get it.

I believe you can book as many rooms as there are adults staying - so only 2 (one for you & one for DH). Sorry never tried club level so don't know that one.

This. You can book as many BB rooms as there are adults when the BB is offered.

This is correct. Like all discounts, not all resorts/room types are always offered under a BB promo. Sometimes you have to be flexible with your resort and/or room type in order to take advantage of a discount.

Typically in the past the BB offer which is released towards the end of October has been a "room only" discount for the following year. As an example, we stayed in October last year and booked the BB offer for this coming October and got 35% rack rate at the Beach Club. If I recall, most deluxes were between 30-35% off, Moderates were like 25% off but I remember Coronado being like 30% off and I can't remember what the discount was on values. Doing the math should be pretty easy, just take the rack rate room only price and subtract the percentage off and that will give you an idea of what you'll pay approx...taxes would then be added at the end. HTH.
Thanks! I am looking forward to giving this a try. At some point do you convert your BB reservation to a package? Is there a good time to do so or does it matter?

Not sure on this one as we are AP holders and use TIW to discount our dining so we keep our ressie as a RO. I would think you could add tickets to this but since I'm not 100% sure, perhaps someone else can chime in.

Can bounceback bookings be modified later? We'll be at POR late August this year and will want to book for late July/Aug next year. If those dates are not out yet, can I book whatever is available before I leave, and then change it from home later when the new dates are out?

Andre

Yes, like other posters have mentioned, as long as the date changes are part of the offer dates.

Hi Andre - as you know (and PP said), you can change the dates (and resort) you previously booked for a BB, but you can only change to other dates that were offered (and are available still) in the BB offer you booked. You can call and do this as many times as you like, subject to availability. So, for example, when I go late August, its usually free dining for the next August/early Sep. If Disney comes out with a room only BB in early September, I cannot switch my FD BB to the room only BB. (Also: note that starting spring 2015, WDW got very tough on changing dates. I booked FD BB August 20, 2014 for August 20, 2015 at POR. You can't buy airfare a year out, so I just guessed at dates. In April 2015 I called to change my dates by a day or two - all within the original BB offer. The BB CM refused to change the dates. I did get a manager to override it, as this new stricter rule had just started (I learned of it via disboards). Its pretty ridiculous when they offer the BB for 365+ days in advance - when you can't even buy airfare yet - and refuse to let you change the dates. (They told me my view wasn't still available - but I could change to a much more expensive view. Keep in mind I had a reservation for the dates I wanted - i.e., I was trying to shorten what I booked by 2 days IIRC.) HTH!

Thanks for letting me know about this new rule. I changed our stay from 7 nights to 6 in November, it was no problem, but since the policy is changing i'll make sure I choose my dates carefully.

We got a bounceback last August for this August, the deal was free dining (I had to pay a fee to upgrade to deluxe dining). I would prefer a room % discount since we always stay at deluxe hotels, but i'll take whatever they offer only because I like to book my airfare early!

We've gone to Disney every year for the last 12 or so years, sometimes more than once a year, and never been offered a bounce back. Do you have to ask for it when you're there or could I call and ask for it now for 2016?

Has anyone booked a Value this year for FD 2016? Wanting to make sure they are offering the QS plan for the values next fall.

When the RO BB offers come out, will they be the same dates as the free dining BB offer, or are they sometimes for slightly different dates? I was so excited for the first time ever, we might be able to use the BB offer for next year, but most of the summer weeks are excluded if I am reading correctly. We are hoping for the first or 2nd week of August next year.

The room only bounceback always has more dates than the free dining bounce back.

Here are the dates of last year's room only bounce back:

2015 room only bounce back

35% off deluxe resorts; 30% moderates

1/3 – 1/7

1/11 – 1/15

1/19 – 2/11

2/16 – 4/1

4/10 – 5/20

7/23 – 10/4

10/16 – 11/5

11/8 – 11/20

12/11 – 12/23/15

This is very helpful. Thank you!!

We'll be at Animal Kingdom Lodge in two days. I'm sure it will be too early for 2016 room only bouncebacks. I'm looking for 3 bouncebacks for 2016, January, April and November. We'll be back at BWI again in November, so maybe by then. Especially looking for one for January of 2016 for my "dream" stay at GF. It's my only chance to get a room there and stay within DH's and my agreed upon budget.

How flexible is the BB rate in terms of modifications? Can I change the date? The resort?

As pp said, based on remaining availability, but, don't expect it to last forever.

We have a bounce back booked at BWI for the first week of November. We just recently decided that we wanted to add on a day to the front of our stay. I did call to see if I could add the additional day through the bounce back offer. There were rooms available for the day we wanted to add, just not at the bounce back rate. So I just booked another reservation for that one day and I was fortunate enough to get it at an AP rate. So it is costing us an additional $30 over the bounce back rate for the one added night.

Sorry, you can't call now. You must book while you are a current guest in a Disney hotel. This is not an obvious, personal type thing. The check in desk staff will not verbally invite you to book another stay. You will not get a call while you're there. You have to kind of hunt for the information. It is & has been open to all Disney resort guests for years. It doesn't matter who you are, how you booked your current trip or if you are there on a discount currently. In past years, the info was on the hotel info TV channel & a single info sheet left on the desk or dresser in your room. The last several years the room discount was in a small folder in the room with your hotel info: restaurants, recreation, guest services type things. Inside one of those is a centerfold calendar page with the BB info & the dates the BB was good for.

I have not seen the current free dining offer for 2016, so I can't say how that is being presented. But anytime you can't find the info , just call 8844 from your room & ask. If there is an offer, you can book it.

Listen to this one. While at WDW last August 2014 we booked a BB for this August 2015 at POFQ. A little over a month ago my kids started clamoring for a value resort. So I called everyday for over a week asking if there was any availability at POP, ASSp or ASMu, because Movies isn't included in the FD BB. I kept being told there wasn't any openings at any value resort. So I call for about the 9th day in a row and was told the same thing, but then the CM told me she was going to put me on hold to check something. She comes back on and they tell me they will open up a room at All Star MOVIES for my family with Free Dining!!! So even though it wasn't included in the BB we are now staying at MOVIES with FD. So yes you can call and change resorts.

Glad you found some availability, however, ASMo was not excluded from the BB offer last year.

smitch, wow you are absolutely correct and here I thought I received some Disney Magic. I went back and checked and ASMo was not excluded. Every time I called they would say there is no availability at ASSp, ASMU and POP. Not once did they say ASMo. Weird!!!

Oh well any who the kids are thrilled.
