Yes, you can book now (room only or package but do not pay in full right away) and then, when an offer comes out (put youself on some notifications if you can), call right away to have it applied (limited amount of room per resort with an offer).

I am taking this wise advice since we are flexible with dates and resort choice this time. I am hoping for solid specials that will compensate for the very low Canadian currency.

I reconsidered my initial decision of waiting for two reasons: There will be some kind of deal for the end of August timeframe but I'd rather have a deal on a lower priced room than a higher one. Reserving the Magic Your Way tickets now protects from price increase. All of that for a refundable 200$.

So, now booked at POFQ for Aug 17th to 27th! Yeah!

This part won't matter. You can change your reservation when a deal is out, and can only get it applied if there is availability for that deal for the same room category anyway. For example, sometimes you have to change to garden view if standard is not available, etc. So, essentially it doesn't matter where you'really booked to get any deal.

I usually book for August when I know I get my vacation choice at work in Feb. I first book with AAA rate, because at least that is something, they are usu. Available around then. Then I look for deals as they come, rarely being able to keep a standard view, but always end up happy by my trip, aND saving a good percent, but I go early August, which means never FD, as that's usu. Only after the 15th or so.

I am hoping they continue the military discount on rooms and will hopefully have the 40% discount to apply. We are going either the 13th or 19th not sure yet and staying for 7 nights hopefully. This will be our second trip. We also went August 2014. I will say that it only rained once while we were there for about an hour. the heat wasn't too oppressive IMO. It wasn't as hot and humid as it is in Jersey right now anyway . I've already customized my Magic Bands too lol. It's official..I've drank the Disney kool-aid and snorted all the Pixie Dust

Looks like next years BB is out. Wow, this is the first time in 6 or 8 years the free dining dates in August don't work for us. We have literally booked a free dining bounce back in August for at least that many years. Why are the August start dates SO late in the month? Our kids will be starting school that week, and as our daughter will be starting high school, no way she can miss.

We have literally booked a free dining bounce back in August for at least that many years. Why are the August start dates SO late in the month? Our kids will be starting school that week, and as our daughter will be starting high school, no way she can miss.

I know it won't work for us either with it being so late. This time not counting on anything and just doing a few things differently so we can go earlier in August. We may also have to eat some dinners off site which is fine.

This is our plan at this point too. We have a 12 night trip at CBR coming up in a few weeks, can't wait, and this is the first year we will not be booking our next trip before leaving. I think at this point we will plan on an early August trip for 2016, and cross fingers for either a decent room offer, some miracle free dining offer, or just wing it. Now to just enjoy the upcoming trip and not worry about it, LOL.
