This is our second Disney cruise and we are so pumped!!! Would love to participate in fish extenders as well. All I can find online says to just join a group here. Guess that means we are the only two so far :-) Look forward to swapping with yall!

Any help, tips and advise would be very welcome and especially about how we can join a 'fishing' group which sounds like a really fun idea!!

FE organizers generally need to know how many people (adults/children) are participating in each cabin. Other information you would like to share such as first names, ages of child participants, allergies, favorite characters, etc. is up to you. Other personal information is not really necessary. Those organizing FEs typically ask for the information to be posted in the meet thread or sent to them via PM.

For those posting in this Cruise Meet thread to join a FE, since no one has come forward yet about a FE for this cruise here on the DIS, please feel free to start the FE right in this thread.

There is certainly plenty of time to plan a FE for this cruise. All it takes is for someone to maintain a list of/for those participating which can easily be done in this thread. Cruise Meet threads have been doing it this way for years now here on the DIS. If anyone is interested in doing this, feel free to contact me for some suggestions.

We just got off of the Fantasy and are booked for this December Very Merrytime sailing. Our FE group on the Fantasy was wonderful fun! We would love to join an FE group if one starts here. I will be sailing with my husband and 14 year old daughter. This will be our 7th Disney cruise.

Hi! I am so excited to be sailing on the December 18th sailing on the magic! Sailing with my family, 4 generations (my kids are 3 and 6). My grandma is so excited to be on a disney cruise, it will be her first one! My parents are celebrating their 40th Anniversary and my mom's 60th birthday, hence, the reason for the big family cruise.

We wanted to jump on the fish extender list. Is there one going for this group yet?

I would like to participate! We will have 4 generations of people, A total of 4 rooms, but I think we are going to do 2 fish extender rooms, one for my family with kids, and one for my grandma. How do we get started?

I have a 6 year old boy, 3 year old girl. That will be one room.
I also am going to sign up for my family (we have a total of 4 rooms). My grandma & her boyfriend are both 86, and my parents are celebrating their 40 year anniversary. Not sure who the second room will be, we want a total of 2 rooms to participate in the FEs.

Just wondering if anyone will be making some MAGICal memories onboard the Magic December 18, 2015 sailing with us!

I know it's SO far away.. but it is never too early to get excited about your cruise!! :beach:
Hi! Our family is taking our 2nd Disney cruise on the Magic Dec 18. We couldn't be more excited. Our kiddos are 17 and 14. We live in Gilbert AZ and kids are hoping to find others their age.

Hi there! This will be our first Disney cruise (sailing with 7-year old daughter, 7-year old son, and 10-year old daughter). I'm new to the idea of the FE, but I've read a little bit so far and I'm interested. I have a few questions though...how many people are typically in a group? Is it just one big group for each sailing, or several groups?

My wife has been trying (with difficulty) to get me on board (pun intended) with the stateroom door magnets, and now that I've been looking around online, it seems like a no-brainer. Too bad it's so far away, because now I'm getting super excited for the cruise.

I hope our families have a chance to meet on the ship! :earsboy:

I am so excited.. Finally booked! Fanatic of Disneyland (as I live in SF, CA)... And made sure to get there every 3-4 months. We after celebrating 60th anniversary of Disneyland now. Awesome!!!

First time DCL cruiser and would like to participate in FE ... Will be cruising with DH, DD (6), and DS (4)...

Did I tell you I'm excited?
Now I gotta figure out if I am flying into Miami or Fort Lauderdale...

Hello, My family and I are sailing with you on the Magic on December 18th. We are a big group with 3 rooms(6 adults, and 5 kids ages 10, 8,8, 7, 6). I am new to disboards and to online chatting, but I would like to join a Fish Extender group.

LindaBabe & dh Bruce - we've been signed up since last Christmas, but just had time to wander over here. This will be our 22nd cruise. . . 23rd? I forget, and 2rd one this year. (#3 is b2b with this one)

Anyway, since most everyone seems to be fairly new to Disney cruising, if you want me to do so, I am willing to maintain the FE list. May I suggest that anyone wishing to sign up read the "fish extender basics" at the link posted above. Most FE participants give one gift per stateroom. Some, however, give one per person, and sometimes, the overachievers in the group will personalize for a specific person.

If it's your first time, I suggest keeping it simple - the same gift for each stateroom. Then you don't need to label them with an address, you can just grab one and stick it in the FE.

What to give?? The FE links have some good suggestions (search FE gifts there are several threads of posts). My recommendation is always small, flat, light, inexpensive, useful or consumable. (People have to be able to pack them to take home) The most practical FE gift I ever received was a cardboard drink tray that folded flat. It fit every one of my criteria and was ever so helpful for trips to the drinks station and Goofy's gallery.

If all y'all decide you want me to maintain the list, shoot me a pm with FE in the subject line, and including your name (real and stage), stateroom number, first names and ages of kids, and any FOOD ALLERGIEs to something you might get in your fe. (My banana allergy probably isn't relevant in this case, but it sure is in the diningroom)

Speaking of Allergies - be sure if anyone in your party has one - fill out the medical form!!! First night, your head waiter will come and talk to you. Your serving team is responsible for keeping you safe!

See you in a week or so.
