DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Hey guys. Hot one up here today. Good news is we're headed down to WDW in a month to get away from the heat...

That's a great plan. Bring your winter coat. It may be cool in Florida in the evenings in August.

Back to reality from what was a fantastic vacation sailing on the Disney Fantasy. Hope all are doing well, gonna try to get caught up here and hopefully post a pic or two from the trip.

Looking forward to the review and pictures.

Sorry to hear about the knee acting up again but good to hear that it is not a new injury or that you made the existing any worse.

Thanks.

'Morning all...
Do my eyes deceive me, or was there actually a smidgen of banter going on in here?

Life kind of sucks right now here.

Well that's not good.
Firstly, may those levels of not good correct themselves quickly
Secondly, we can't be havin' that kind of nonsense going on in Florida.
Way too detrimental to our delusions for future retirement (what ever that is)

I am sorry to hear this though.
Anything specific causing the trouble?

There is very good news in that statement.
some serious misconception as well, but congrats anyway.

Nooooo....
Go back! Don't come home!

Glad the expedition was a success and I'd certainly love to see some pics.
Post away!

We were lied to...

Nope...
I saw very clearly just how hard it was for my Ma and Pa.
And so far, everything I saw wasn't even half of the truth.

Tell me what Scott? Tell me what???

Oh, nothing...
You'll figure it out soon enough.

That's how I picture it too. When I grow up, I want to be CJ.

Not a bad goal there.
Maybe without whatever is making his life suck at the moment, but otherwise...

Are you guys new?

Happy Tuesday. It is another great day.

Some refer to it as a trip report. I know what type of review you're thinking about. There is this thing called the internet.

Yes, there was some banter. Let's see I continues.

I've heard of these trip reports before. Some seem to take years to complete.

Top O the Morning Dads! Still trying to get back to reality after the cruise, man this is tough. DW and I sat on the patio most of Sunday afternoon trying to keep the vaca buz going as we did not want to be inside despite the heat index of 100+. Had a few cocktails, nice cigar and some Caribbean / beach music playing. I am not a trip report guy, though Rob has a great one going about his Fantasy sailing which was just a few weeks before ours. Rather, if it is o.k. with you guys I will post a little something each day for a few right here to give those that have not cruised some insight - overall review is we loved it even with the kids at 20 & 18. I say even with the kids at 20 & 18 as many think you have to be parents with kids 13 and under to enjoy DCL - I say nay nay.

So with that, I will give a short take on what there is to do on a DCL sailing for adults & 18+. Adult pool and deck area are on deck 11 & 13 forward. Our room was on deck 12 forward so was perfect for us. Pool bar, coffee shop / bar indoors, & servers on deck 11 keep your thirst quenched. Deck 13 very front of ship has a nice covered deck area to lounge, read and what is called Satellite Falls. One of the satellite domes has a waterfall all around it that pours into a sitting pool to cool off. Another favorite of mine is the outdoor bar on deck 13, Currents. That covers the big kids sun / pool experience on board so I will leave it at that for today.

Quiet Cove 18+ only Pool Deck

::yes:: Count me as one of those who've never cruised.

So good to hear that! My DDs are similar ages (18 & 14).

Welcome back! Glad you had a great time, and post away.

Whoa! Slow down there, sparky. I need to take notes.

It can happen…
I finally finished one that was interrupted by various things.
But then foolishly went and started another.

Not my brightest moment.

Still trying to get back to reality after the cruise…

Oh, I’d advise against that.
Reality ain’t all it’s cracked up to be.

I am not a trip report guy, though Rob has a great one going

He does?
Oh, wait… Why yes he does.
“Great” may be a bit of a stretch but I thank you.

Of course it’s ok…
You can post them daily for the next twenty years if you’d like.
The thread don’t move as fast as it once did and It’ll be more entertaining than reading my drivel.

Our room was on deck 12…

Whoa… :faint:
Nice. I’d like to be able to pull that kind of traveling off some day.
But I’m pretty sure that there aren’t any rich uncles lurking in my family tree.

Nice pictures by the way
Thanks for sharing!

OOH, thanks for the tip!

Are you guys new?

Nope. We've actually hung out quite a few times. You've even been to my house.

You're just really old and forgetful.

Thanks. Kind of a spur of the moment decision a few weeks ago, but we pulled the trigger. Should be fun!

True enough. I was just sold the story that life in the future was just going to get easier and better for us. I still hope we can halt the decline and swing the pendulum the other way for the sake of the kids.

Happy Tuesday. It is another great day...

and it isn't even Hump Day!

Nice. I wouldn't mind a cruise some day but there are a lot of other things I would like to do as well. If I quit working today and do nothing but what I want I still will run out of time. Unfortunately, if I quit working today, I would run out of money loonnnggg before I run out of things I want to do.

Spent an odd afternoon crawling around my hazelnut orchard. Glad I spent all those years in college. :sad2: Nut drop was much earlier than I anticipated as most of them were still white. I don't know if it the varieties or the weather since this was my first harvest but will blame it on the weather. For those that are curious it looks like we have good nut size as long as they aren't empty.
