DIS Unplugged Show Feedback and Suggestions

Any chance that Craig, JL, Whino...er...Ryno, could get their own theme music for the Universal Show?

I'm thinking something Jurassic Parkish

As of now there are no plans to do that just so all of the "DIS Unplugged" shows have the commonality. However, if we start a random show where we just ramble off pop culture references for an hour we could probably do that. The likelihood of that is slim though, due to my lack of class, podcast abilities and childish behavior.

Yes, again, as I said before, everyone does it. It's hard not to in a large round-table setting. I get it.

I'm not sure why you are adding in stuff like "everyone has a right to their opinion", since I never said that Kevin should not express himself; I just take issue with how he does it. Again, I have no problem with the points he makes or the opinions he expresses. As I also said, I usually agree with him. So it's not like I "have it in" for Kevin because I don't like what he says.

My experience (*my* experience - not trying to assert it as gospel) has been that over the last few years, he (more than the others) tends to interject more and more frequently and more and more forcefully. Yes, he apologizes, but he still keeps doing it. That turns me off.

Rhetorically speaking,

I am Not really sure why you would even point out Kevin as an example considering you understand that everyone does it or you "get it" or if you " have no problem with the points he makes" or if you "usually agree with him". Just seems like a pretty bold statement that you feel he is " hijacking conversations in order to voice his opinion on a given matter" when you agree with what he says. He makes no qualms about telling people how he sees things or sugar coating it so not to hurt someones fragile ego.

In all honesty, I also find as I get older, I make my opinion a bit more predominant in conversation, because I am tired of people not listening to me the first 5 times I speak to a certain subject. Kevin, I would think, is in the same boat, but more so, considering the line of work and public he deals with. I have heard him talk about several topics Multiple times not only on the pod cast but on the forums as well. I would assume he does not keep speaking to the same subject because he enjoys repeating himself on a weekly or monthly basis, so he interjects a bit more pronounced or "abrasive" (for lack of a better term) then some newbies...oh well.

I don't want to be "that person" but in my opinion; if you don't like it, you don't have to listen to it.

you do lack something........ I know it's cheese! And your childish behavior is the reason I love you so much!

I love everyone on the podcast just the way they are. I don't think I'd want them to change the way they interact, because it wouldn't be in keeping with their personalities and that is what makes the DisUnplugged family of podcasts so great. The more natural the conversation, the better I like it. I wouldn't want them to lose that authenticity that would come from being self-conscious of certain aspects their personalities that some people might not care for. I've never met any of the podcast but I imagine what you you see is what you get...and that's ok! Thanks podcast crew, you are awesome!

Hi! I began watching your shows this year as I started doing research for my trip. I'm visiting WDW for the first time in 2016!!! I'm very excited about it!!!

I just wanted to tell you that you are a very charming group, and that your passion for Disney is contagious. By the way, now I just can't wait to visit the Figment attraction thanks to the lovely Mrs Werling!

It would be great if you shared strategies for resort hopping after visiting the parks, specially for non-drivers.

Keep up the good work!
Have an awesome trip, hope you're going to do a trip report!!

Just to prove my extreme dislike for Craig Williams' podcast abilities, his actions on the Universal DIS shows is ridiculous. I was just watching the
"DIS Unplugged: Universal Edition - Land & Sea Royal Pacific Resort - 07/08/15" and his comment of "Eff you buddy!" is a prime example of his childish disgusting behavior. He has absolutely no class and should be removed from the broadcasts.
Wow - haven't seen this particular episode yet, but I'd sure miss Craig if he were gone. I "get" his dry, deadpan sense of humor, and to me he's an integral part of the team, and part of what makes it so awesome!

Yes, he often apologizes, but I find that often he will apologize but keep on talking until he finishes his thought.

I don't think I am imagining it, and again, I find that I usually agree with what he's saying. It's not like I am striving to find something about Kevin to complain about. Just my observation, since Dustin asked.
And I'll say that while I may not always agree with you, I definitely support your (or anybody else's) right to your opinion, and being able to express it in a calm, rational manner here!

I got a suggestion for the show. A dance off between Dustin, Pete and Rhino. It would be an epic battle that would be remembered for...at least a few days.

I really hate to single out anyone on the podcast team, but if honesty is what you want, then I'll say that Kevin has become increasingly overbearing on the podcast over time. I have been listening since '08, and it just seems like he's become more and more prone to interrupting people and hijacking conversations in order to voice his opinion on a given matter. It's not that he's opinionated (and often I agree with his opinions), but that he seems to think that what he has to say on the topic at hand is so germane and so important that he has to cut others off.
I was hesitant to say something, but I have noticed this too. It is a roundtable discussion, but to me Pete is the personality that drives the podcast and serves as the host. As such, roundtable members, although free to bring their own experiences to the table, will defer to Pete as he guides the discussion or states his own opinion. Kevin is the only one I see that will interrupt Pete. In my opinion, this seems a little rude and smacks of one-upsmanship. Maybe it is familiarity due to their long relationship, I don't know.

However, I have always enjoyed Kevin's dining reviews and recommendations with John, both on site and off, and like the podcast better when the crew from the early days (Pete, John, Kevin, Corey AND Julie) are all present. This is not to disparage any of the others that have joined over time, just it sometimes feels like something is missing when several of the early crew members are not present.

I do feel the need to post a criticism after listening to this week's show. During the segment discussing the top 10 threads on the boards, I found it disappointing how unfamiliar the team was with by and large with the topics of those threads and therefore quite clearly, the boards as a whole. The most glaring example to me was the lack of familiarity with the ADR cancellation threads. Those threads (one for each month) are a DIS Boards staple and have been around forever. Now, I do realize that the team members probably have little to no use for those threads. However, in preparation for the show, they should make themselves familiar with something like that before the show if they don't already know what it is. It just comes off bad when most of the team is not privy to what is happening on the boards outside of the "DIS Unplugged" board.

That is an excellent observation.

The forums have existed a lot longer than the podcast.

That bothered me too. Previously, when they've discussed the top 10 threads, there was a bit of conversation about each one. This time, they named them and couldn't really say anything about most of them which wasn't as interesting or entertaining.

I think when they do the top ten threads they should have the new panel member who oversees the boards on the show. Sorry I can't remember her name. Surely she would have a good idea what these threads are about if she is the one monitoring the boards.

My opinion means nothing, but I think Kevin is one of the coolest cats ever. I know he doesn't drink much but I would buy him a beverage of his choice if I ran into him at the parks. Again just my opinion but Kevin is the most "real" on the podcast.

Anyways, podcast is great. It's just entertainment folks. Have fun and enjoy. Don't get so up in arms. We don't know the dynamics of the podcast.

Dis Universal show is informative and I think Craig's knowledge is legit, I just wish he wouldn't wonder off topic so much or drive the show into the ditch when he tries to backtrack. His humor doesn't translate well on the podcast to be honest and I know humor, some of my best friends are humorous.
