Blow off AK for extra day at MK?

As it stands we cannot decide if we should blow off AK in favor of an extra (short) day at MK, allowing us to do either a rope drop or wishes but not both in one visit.

We are currently doing:
1 MNSSHP
1 Epcot (w/ Ake brekkie)
1 HS (Chef Mickey's before)
And add one from the bottom:

Option #1:
1 Rope drop at MK (leave early)
1 Ak

Option #2:
1 MK late start, stay for Wishes
1 AK

Option #3
1 MK Rope drop (early leave)
1 MK late start, stay for Wishes

I have a 4yo and 6yo. We are staying off resort. We will have a double stroller.

We did AK for the first time this last trip with just the older kids (8 and 9 at the time). We left the 3 yo and baby with grandparents. We don't regret not having visited it in previous trips mainly because we usually go 5-6 days and we felt there was just so much else to do at the other parks compared to this one...Previous trips there was just so much more for little kids at MK.

Our next trip is 14 days and we have 3 days scheduled at AK...the other parks get much more time allotted to them- we felt like there is more to do at the other parks and have allotted more days for them. Maybe with taking a slower approach this next trip we will find some of the lesser attractions more exciting?

We did AK the last time and our party is very split on their feelings toward AK. It was also hotter than hades the day we went, which could be tainting my views of the park haha.

Are the kiddos into Animals, Lion King and Nemo? If the answer to this is yes, I would say don't skip it.

My 11 DD loves AK but not for any of the reasons I listed. She likes Kali, EE, and PW. We are doing a morning at AK with our 3 FP+ and then hopping over to MK for some SOTMK play and maybe a ride or two if we can get FP+ for them.

No they haven't seen lion king and no real interest in Nemo (even though we own the movie). But they do love animals.

Skip AK and go to MK. Your kids are young and will have more fun in MK there are more things for them to do.

My kids (3 and 6) absolutely love AK. If I were skipping a park entirely, it would be DHS in a heartbeat.
I vote for keeping AK.

I'm considering the same thing - it will be myself, my husband, our 1-year old daughter, my elderly mother, and my 7-year old niece. We are staying at the Grand Floridian with 6 day base tickets. Epcot is our favorite park as adults, and Magic Kingdom is of course a must-do with the little ones. We plan on spending 1 day at DHS and I just can't decide if I really care to include AK. Personally, I'm leaning toward 3 days at MK, 2 at Epcot, and 1 at DHS.

My fam of 5 can't skip AK. We would all prefer AK and FOTLK over Wishes. None us like being out past 8pm anyway...lol
I love Wishes don't get me wrong, but we see fireworks like 5 times a year, they really all do look the same to me.
Now I do love Celebrate the Magic.

We have a five year old (and a baby, but he doesn't care!) and we are going to AK over HS. Technically we are hopping to HS one afternoon/evening so we can hit Star Tours, Toy Story, and potentially Tower of Terror. But DD loves animals and is tall enough for all but Primeval Whirl in AK so I definitely want to take her there. HS has a few neat rides but other than those we don't mind to skip it.

AK and EPCOT are my favorite parks. I would rather skip MK entirely (which we have before, haha!) than skip AK. Just my personal preference, though. Everyone is different!

My DS was almost 4 when he went to AK, and at that age, he wanted to spend all day in the Dinosaur dig and slides area. He also loved the Safari. While there are rides he likes at MK, sometimes he just likes new places where he can have unrestricted play. So you should take into account your kid's preferences. Also, my son doesn't like the loud sounds from fireworks (downside of having really good hearing), so we watch the fireworks from far away (like across the lake).

I wouldn't even schedule a trip if I had to miss any of the 4 parks, but that's just me and no problem if you're different. :thumbsup2

For me personally I couldn't imagine skipping AK. Now my kids are older than yours, but during our last trip they were 4, 7, and 11 and honestly our day in AK ended up being one of their favorite days. I don't think AK warrants more than 1 day of a trip, but itas a lot of neat unique things and I like that it closes at 6 so it ends up being an earlier night than other days by default and gives you a chance to rest up for the next day. Only you know what your family likes best though - I'm sure you guys will have an awesome time whatever you decide! :)

I would and have skipped HS over AK, we really like AK and my kids actually really enjoy shows so that helps some. I really find that there is a lot more to do at AK then HS especially for young kids.
