'Ohana Bread Pudding Twice In One Trip?! How can Life Possibly Get Better Than That *Complete*

I'm loving your report! I'm a bit older than you are (48) so Little River Band is something I'd have loved to see!

Oh, and don't even say the word "off kilter"! Disney needs to bring them back!

Those ghiradelli sundaes look awesome! Loving your dining report so far! :)

They were definitely amazing! Thanks so much for joining in! :goodvibes

Sorry for being late to the party, but I'm here now and all caught up! :woohoo: Your review of Tony's has me thinking. :scratchin If I do return to WDW in the fall for F & W, my favorite MK restaurant will be closed for refurb (LTT) so I just might give Tony's another chance. As for your Ghirardelli sundae photos... WOW! :faint: I've had three trips now without a visit to Ghirardelli and now I'm wondering, what the heck was I thinking!!! :confused3

Glad you were able to join in Barb! I am so far behind on everyone's reports (including my own) so no worries.

Tony's is worth a shot with LTT closed. It's a toss up between that and Plaza for me. They are both pretty awesome lunch choices in MK. I hope you do get a chance to go to F&W so I can enjoy it through you! No chance we are getting back there this year. Rob just used his last vacation day last month, so all hope of another vacation this year is officially dead.

What the heck are you thinking?!?! Ghirardelli is a must do every visit for us.

I really need to get to Kona one of these days for breakfast, your entree looks sooooo good!! I love days off from the parks, it's so relaxing. I too would love to stay one night at the bugalows at the Poly!

You definitely do! It's my favorite breakfast spot. We had so much fun on our non park days. Very relaxing and still super full of fun stuff to do. One night would be heaven! I would love to even just stay at the studio villa there next trip. I need to plan way in advance this time.

I have yet to get a sundae from Ghirardelli! I am headed down next month for an agent AEP trip. We are staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge and Polynesian. We have been having so much fun making dining reservations last minute...we have Be our guest breakfast and lunch, Sanna, Ohana, Kona, Via Napoli, and Hollywood and Vine fantasmic. I know it doesn't get great reviews but we wanted to see for ourselves. :)

That sounds like a super awesome trip! Love both of those resorts! Sounds like a really great food lineup you have going on. I was not a fan of Hollywood and Vine, but it's been 11 years since I've been there, so I'm sure things have changed. I hope you post lots of IG pics!

I have yet to eat at Kona for breakfast. It does look good and while the fountain in the lobby isn't very big I do like the changes.

That brownie sundae looks amazing. I will most definitely be getting that next time!

I highly recommend Kona. It is the best atmosphere in the Poly and the food is delicious. The lobby looks great. In fact, the whole resort looks incredible.

You can't go wrong with a brownie sundae!

So this update officially made me off the charts excited for our (first time) Poly check-in in 25 days!!! And also our first time Kona breakfast ADR. Now if I could just decide between the Tonga Toast or the Macadamia nut pancakes. ;)

I love the new walking path from SSR to DTD!

OMG those sundaes!

You are getting so close to your trip! I'm super excited for you! Oh man, that is a really tough choice. They are both awesome, but I give a slight edge to the Tonga Toast.

Caramelized Apple and Crumble Crunch Ice Cream?!!! That's going at the top of my must-try snack list for our next trip! I love apple anything and I'm seriously drooling at the thought of that ice cream, LOL!

So happy to find another of your dining reports, you and Rob are one of my favourite Disney-loving couples! :goodvibes

Thank you! You are too sweet!

The ice cream is to die for! If you love apple than you will love this ice cream. It is seriously amazing.

Rob's brownie sundae at Ghiradelli's looks very decadent!

It most definitely is! It is the stuff vacation dreams are made of!

Yeah for The Samoan!!!! It's my favorite at Kona too. Of course i haven't even tried anything else, but can't fathom ordering anything else.

And ice cream and beer cocktails for "lunch" sounds like perfection to me. Your ice cream especially looks amazing as I worship at the feet of all thing caramel.

Can't wait to see what dinner has in store.

It really is hard to order anything but that. I did end up trying something new there as well, which is still to come and it was definitely a success.

That did just occur to me that I had beer and ice cream for lunch that day. What a combo! :rotfl2:

I don't even like ice cream (totally un-American, I know !!) but that brownie sundae looks fantastic.

Honestly, I've never been much of an ice cream fan until the past few years. Now it's an addiction. But I never like the ice cream you can buy at the grocery store. My tastes run expensive I guess lol.

Your Kona breakfast looks amazing!! I have want to try this dish for some time now, but can't make myself not order the pineapple macadamia nut pancakes! There's just too many good choices there!!

There really are! That's why we had to go more than once this trip. Needed to try something else for a change.

I went back & looked at that photo of the shrimp scampi Rob got at Tony's - it looks like there were a lot of shrimp in that portion!!

It really was a lot of shrimp! The whole dish was huge! He was so stuffed after that meal he could barely make it back to the bus.

My DH would love that pressed pot too........oh wait......is that pressed pot coffee different than if you just order a cup @ Kona?
I believe that the pressed pot is the only way to get the 100% Kona coffee. The rest is a blend.

Oh man those sundaes from Ghirardelli's look amazing!!! I've only even taken advantage of the sample chocolate there. But I'm thinking it might be time for a change.

On average, how long would a group of four be at 'Ohana for breakfast? We have reservations for 9:05 for our last day there. However, I just found out that the Magic Express bus picks you up for the airport 3 hours before your flight. That would mean that we would be getting picked up at 11:15. I'm getting worried that we won't make it back to Caribbean Beach to get our stuff, and get on the Magic Express with enough time. But, I really don't want to have to cancel our reservations for 'Ohana :( Any thoughts?

Following along-great report so far! popcorn::

Thanks so much for joining in! :goodvibes

Kona will be a must for us on our next trip!!! I miss it & your pictures look AMAZING!!!!!!! :) My DH would love that pressed pot too........oh wait......is that pressed pot coffee different than if you just order a cup @ Kona?

I believe that the pressed pot is the only way to get the 100% Kona coffee. The rest is a blend.

I think that is the case as well. I have had both and I have enjoyed both, but the pressed pot was a little more quality.

I hope you do get to try Kona on your next trip! It is well worth the trip to Poly!

I'm loving your report! I'm a bit older than you are (48) so Little River Band is something I'd have loved to see!

Thanks so much! They were great! Those concerts they put on at Epcot are a blast.

I'm so sad they are gone as well. It's just not the same going past that area of World Showcase.

This is the first food report I have read and I am really enjoying it.
Thank You

Thank you so much! So glad you are enjoying it!

The Samoan looks amazing. Kona breakfast is on our must do list.

It most definitely is. It is so hard to eat here and get anything else. The flavor is so unique. I hope you get to check out Kona soon!

Oh man those sundaes from Ghirardelli's look amazing!!! I've only even taken advantage of the sample chocolate there. But I'm thinking it might be time for a change.

It's funny because I'm the exact opposite. I never remember to go into the store for the free chocolate! I think I'm too full when I leave the other side to have more food on the brain.

Hmmmm, I haven't done 'Ohana breakfast in many years, but I would say it probably depends on how thorough you plan on being with the character interaction. Any chance you can move the breakfast even earlier than 9:05? If you made it a little earlier and don't rely on Disney transportation to get from Poly to Caribbean Beach and take a taxi instead you should be fine. We are never too long at character meals and are fine if we have to leave before a character gets to us, but you may not feel the same way. Definitely let your server know you are in a bit of a time crunch if it is starting to get too late so you can take care of the bill and all that good stuff. Hope it works out for you and you still get a chance to enjoy their breakfast!

For the first 5 nights of our next trip we are staying at the Poly. We will be doing Kona breakfast. I've done it before and got the Big Kahuna. I would love to get the Samoan but I think my BF will end up getting the Samoan (he loves all things pork). I'll do the Big Kahuna again and we can share. That's the plan.

After some relaxation time in the room we decided to walk back to DTD and try walking up to Raglan Road.

Even though it was very crowded they were able to seat us immediately with no reservation! I love how all the seating here is different. There are booths, high tops, tables, booth/table hybrids. Always something new to see. We were seated at a high top table close to the bar area, but we still had a decent view of the live performers. Here is our view. Sorry lady who's head was in front of me.

I couldn't get a good picture of the dancers of musicians, but you get the idea. We have been here two other times for lunch and this was our first time here for dinner with the live entertainment. So much fun! The energy in here was great. I think I will have to stick with dinner here from now on.

We had a great server who took our food and drink order right away and brought us out the Irish soda bread with Guinness dipping sauce.

This is really tasty. The dipping sauce is nice and sweet.

Rob ordered from the beer flight section of the menu.

He went with the Irish Craft beer flight, which had a semi-reasonable price of $10.

I love the drink coasters they put on the table!

For our meals I went with the zit's Not Bleedin' Chowder. The Freshest cuts of seafood and potatoes in a white wine infused cream broth.

The flavor of this was excellent and the seafood was so fresh and tasty. However, the mussels were soooooo sandy! :crazy2: I got sand with the first one and shook it off. It happens. Then the next one seriously gave me a mouth full of sand. It was nasty! I left the remaining mussels untouched. Even though that was unpleasant it didn't change my enjoyment of my meal overall.

Rob had the Braised Be. Beef. Braised beef with horseradish mashed potatoes, roasted carrots and parsnips.

He said it was tasty, but a little basic. He enjoyed it overall.

I also got a side of chips to share.

Yum! These were awesome! Nice and salty.

This time I saved room for dessert. I had to have their decadent Ger's Bread & Butter Pudding.

And here it is in all it's glory drenched in the two different sauces.

This was heavenly! I hate raisins and I still enjoy this. It is not as good as 'Ohana bread pudding, but it is a close second! Rob even helped me eat this, which was great because I never could have finished it on my own.

Our last two experience at Raglan Road have been awesome! I have no idea why we don't come here more often. This needs to start becoming a must-do for us every single trip! The night time atmosphere was so entertaining, the service was great and so was the food. A+ all around!

That looks really good I've always wanted to try Raglan Road. With my picky family it just never has happened hopefully some day.

Your reviews are always great, and I am ridiculously jealous of the frequency with which you get to visit! It is AWESOME!!!!

I love RR, it such a wonderful dining experience. I think we are going to go back in September as it has been a couple of years since we have dined there.

Mmmm the dessert @ RR & entertainment makes me want to try it!!!My parents, sis & niece went & they all love it!!! I've gotta get to RR.

Joining hte party late, but i am loving this review. Thanks to you I now have to add Ghiradelli to our list to try because I NEED that caramel sundae. .

Thanks so much. We're trying to move the reservations up, but so far, no such luck. Keeping my fingers crossed it works out!
Thanks so much for joining in! :goodvibes

I think that is the case as well. I have had both and I have enjoyed both, but the pressed pot was a little more quality.

I hope you do get to try Kona on your next trip! It is well worth the trip to Poly!

Shame about those mussels - but the braised beef, fries & bread/butter pudding all looked good!

(agree with above poster about being SOOOO jealous of your frequent visits to disney!)
