August 2015 Car Rental Rate Watch

Checked rates this Am thru Costco. RATES DOWN a bunch from what I've seen lately for me. mine old rate still better but at least we are in same neighborhood

Have a minivan reserved via Alamo for $370 thru tpa August 1 to 11. Used Costco travel.

Need a mini van as I have car seats, a wheel chair, and a double stroller to transport in addition to the passengers. Anyone beat that?

I don't have Costco membership, can you still make reservation through the Costco website without a club membership?

Does anyone know if Alamo will be asking for your Costco membeship ID? Especially if you just walk to the isle and pick up your car, instead of at the counter?

Carrentalsavers does not ask for Costco membership number, but Costco site does. According to most they don't get asked for Costco card at pickup.

Hopefully, they won't be asking for ID at pickup.

Still not finding anything less that the $343 we have booked with Alamo for Mid sized SUV for Aug 5-16. I will keep checking but think this is probably as good as it gets.

Same here. $356 for a Standard SUV from August 5-12. For some reason, the Standard SUV rate is cheaper than the Mid Size SUV.

I'm literally 5 days earlier than you for the same total rental period, and the Alamo quote is double. Currently booked with Dollar at $326. Still waiting for the price drops.

Best I had was a mid size SUV booked Aug 3-15 through Costco for $387 USD. I just booked Via Expedia, compact, same time frame, for $381 CND, which after conversion, is just under $300 USD. Best I could find over the past couple of months, but I'll take it. Costco currently wants over $500 for a compact or smaller.

i think they're all still too high, but getting better..

We're going Aug 3-8th and can't get anywhere near your rates. I'm still over $300.
But... today the rates are as low for me and I've seen, so I'm still holding out hope!

Rates went way up for my dates today. That compact for $197 yesterday is $332 today!

I got an excellent deal today for Aug 22-29, compact, picking up/dropping off at MCO. Using the Costco code 7014627 and Visa coupon AD2338FDF, I booked for $113.32 (including all taxes and fees). This allowed me to discard my pre-existing booking with that Vegas Brazil code, which I was a little worried about. The new deal is a few dollars better, too.

Where are you putting these codes in? I had some great prices this morning, and before I finished the transaction, the price nearly tripled.
