I lurk here but never post so here we go: Starting off small with 10 no buy days. I will need to get food this weekend.
1. $0
2. $0
3. $3.18 in dollar store for a bday bag and trinket, and $69.22 in supermarket for picnic items and some general groceries
4. 2.99 for the heavy cream I forgot yesterday.
5. $51 on diapers. com for pull ups (2-3 months worth and a few snack items on sale)
6. Milk for my DD for my MIL's house $2.15. Gas for $45 (I was below E) and $21.35 for grocery items for a covered dish and apples for my lunch. The plus is I have lots of leftovers that will go for at least 2 suppers this week. Trying to use out of the cupboard instead of hitting the store a few times a week. Other than milk, I should be good for the rest of the week.

I've been wanting to join the "No Buy Thread" for a couple of months now.

July is typically a very spendy month for us, so I think my first goal will be 10 NO BUY days this month.

1. Fast food- $6
2.

I've come across these threads a couple of times, but always half-way through the month so I'll start now! I have unfortunately already bought yesterday and today so I'll start small
Goal:10 no buy days!

1: $23- snack, beer
2:

Sorry to interrupt but I've been lurking on these "no buy" threads for some time and would love to join. However, can someone please explain how I start off? Do I begin by stating how many days I do not want to spend money? Does that mean an entire day without paying for ANYTHING, including groceries? Do I then post when I spend? Thank you! I want to make sure I am doing this correctly!

You make your own rules. :D You can include basics or not. Since groceries are out of control for the 3 of us, I keep tabs. I haven't been on for a couple of years, but I'm willing to give it a go this month. I will have groceries, anniversary, retirement celebration and 1 birthday to cover. Hubby likes to spend EVERY day, so it is always tough.
My goal.....to limit my OWN spending for 15 days, with a total household no spend of 8 days.
July 1 No Buy (easy....it was Canada Day)

July 2 Pool expense/groceries/posting birthday gift $50

OK....here goes for my first ever NO BUY! Thanks to Debbie for the information:) I'm aiming for 10 no buy days this month and giving myself a budget of $100 for personal purchases. School starts in July in our neck of the woods(crazy...I know) and I will need to pick up supplies for my son and for myself since I'm a teacher. He will need a backpack and whatever the teacher requests. I will try NOT To purchase as many supplies as I usually do, but rather rely on what the school has given me and what the kids can provide.

I've been lurking, and I tried a June no-buy on my own last month. It was so helpful! Maybe being on here will make me more accountable :)
Going to aim for 10 days this month; it will be tough with a five day trip coming up at the end of the month!
1/10
July 1 - stamps
July 2 - dinner and drinks
July 3 - no buy #1!

My goal.....to limit my OWN spending for 15 days, with a total household no spend of 8 days.
July 1 No Buy (easy....it was Canada Day)
July 2 Pool expense/groceries/posting birthday gift $50

July 3 Groceries, Medication, salt for water softener $55

I am so broke right now, so need to jump on this. I have one family birthday this month, plus a girlfriends getaway at the end of the month that is paid for (but there will definitely be some shopping temptations).
July 1 (Canada Day) no spending
July 2 - went to Farmer's Market - spent $40
July 3 - zero (worked)
July 4 - will need to buy some groceries..

I think for me a July No Bills would be more helpful. Almost my spending is linked to fixed bills.

This is great! We're saving for our Disney trip in September so this will be fun, and very very important, to try.

7/1: no buys
7/2: no buys
7/3: got a bunch of corn and a package of hot dogs at Target for $5! yummy dinner.
7/4: Took out $20 in cash for the North Charleston 4th of July fest after work! (happy 4th everyone!)

Okay, so I bought groceries ($55) and then went to Michael's to get picture frames. They seemed too expensive even with the sale they had on, so I didn't buy any, but did find some activity books for my grandchildren, so spent another $50. NO more for today!

I completely failed at this in May and June, but I'm going to try again for July. My coworker got me to do this 28 day diet and exercise challenge that has been completely blowing my budget. It ends on July 13, so I'm looking forward to having a little more money and a little less weight.....:rolleyes1

July:
1-No Buy #1
2-so close, but the bus was delayed and I would've been late for my workout class so I had to catch a cab :sad2:
3-groceries
4-No Buy #2

2/15 Days So Far

Hello! Another lurker here, but I've decided to join you this month. I'm trying to do better with my miscellaneous spending, i.e buying things that I want and don't necessarily need. I have many creative hobbies so the craft stores and online shopping are my weaknesses. I also want to cut down on spending money to eat out. I'm not going to count groceries, gas or any other expenses that are in my monthly budget. I feel including all these would set me up for failure in this challenge. :earboy2: I'm going to go for 15 No Buy Days. I have a short getaway coming up this month any extra money saved for that would be great!

July 1: Spend
