Just off Dream Double dip concierge level. Any questions?

What was the special act....a comedian, magician, and what night was it?
What were the two extra nights for dinner?

First night was magician Shawn Farquhar(sp?) and he was fantastic. Not to be missed!

Did Enchanted Garden have prime rib on their rotational menu? It's not on the menu on DCL's site but from everything I've heard they still have it. A first hand report would be great.

Any chance you can post your Navigators? Concierge team?

Were Ashley, Tracey, and Angeline still the Concierge Team? I just sailed in May and am already wanting to book for next year.

I've been on one cruise WBPC this past May and it was wonderful. But when I booked the cruise, I did not understand what the Concierge Service did for you and i still don't. Would you be willing to tell me why you said "Concierge worth every penny!" Thanks

Trip was awesome! Concierge worth every penny!

Hi. I am sailing concierge on the Dream in September. I sail NCL in the Haven so the perks do not compare but still willing to
give DCL concierge a try. Can you please elaborate on how concierge made your cruise more enjoyable. I've sailed DCL
but never concierge.

Thank you.

The concierge team was Danny, Tracey, and Angeline. This was our second DCL sailing but our first in concierge. From the moment we stepped into the terminal our experience felt infinitely more relaxed and enjoyable than the last time. i think listing it out is the easiest way to describe it:
  • Check in was faster. I think we waited maybe 10 minutes to be checked in at the concierge section. but even with that minor wait, the concierge area at the port is segregated and just more relaxed. Also they checked the kids into kids club and gave the kids their wristbands right there -no need to go to a separate line. Our last trip we had to wait in line for an hour to check the kids in at the kids club. Once we were all checked in we skipped all the lines and were just walked directly onto the boat.
  • When you walk onto the boat its chaotic, with masses of people walking around with their carryons. But not for concierge guests- we were immediately taken to the lounge up on the 12 th floor. Once there it just felt so much more civilized. You sit down, have a drink and some snacks while the concierge staff goes over everything with you.
  • Rooms were ready as soon as we boarded. Last trip we had to lug our carryons all over the boat while waiting for our room to be ready.
  • The concierge lounge was an oasis for us. We had breakfast there everyday and visited the lounge a few times a day for snacks and happy hours. We saw familiar faces every day and people just seem more relaxed and happier. It really was a highlight of the trip for us. And the coffee machine was amazing. I read about it on these boards before but didn't really grasp how great it was. And the food in the concierge lounge was so much better then anywhere else on the ship. The snacks were gourmet and always tasty.
  • The staff was so helpful. in addition to getting tickets to character greetings, they also helped with reservations, picked up my photo cd from shutters (I remember the line for that being nuts last time), sent photographer to our cabanas when none came around on the first day. That sort of stuff -we prob could have taken more advantage of them then we did.
There's probably more that I'm not remembering but I think the true value is in having a separate more relaxed space. I think what caused me stress on the first sailing (mostly lines and crowds) were taken care of upgrading to concierge. I definitely had reservations about upgrading but now that the trip is over know that it was absolutely the right decision. We are already looking to book the next cruise as it was such a great family vacation.

Forgot one biggie, basically all the cabanas were occupied but concierge level guests. They were amazing! It was so much more quiet and peaceful than the other areas of the beach. Loved the cabana!

Saraheli, thank you for your great reply. I have a couple more questions now....were there alcoholic drinks at the happy hour and was there any additional charge for them, if they were available? And were the gourmet snacks also free of charge? Thanks

The drinks and snacks offered in the lounge are included with your fare. When I went in May on the Dream we made very good use out of the happy hours.

Yes happy hour was twice a day, before main and late dinner seating. Alcohol is free during the happy hour. It consisted of wine beer and top shelf alcohol. Snacks were offered all day, they changed it every 2 hours(always free). Nonalcoholic drinks and coffee drinks were offered and free all day. The coffee was great, you could get lattes, cappuccino, espresso and it was delicious.

Thank you.

Please compare DCL Concierge to the Haven after your cruise. We are very interested in trying a Haven suite in the next year or so.

Navigators would be awesome! Was there a 5k on both Castaway days or just the first stop?

Will do. I dont sail DCL until September and my next Haven visit is August 2016 on Breakaway. If you have any questions about the Haven Im happy to help. Its like having your own small cruise wihin a cruise. Its everything tou could imagine and so so relaxing.

Did they use specific menus already available to view for the two other nights?
I believe you could view that nights menu on the navigator app (which was great by the way). Not sure if you could view future nights menus, never tried to look.
