Hi everyone
My dh and I will be in Disney for 9 nights right after thanksgiving. We are staying 6 nights at the boardwalk villas then moving to the grand Floridian for 3 nights to celebrate my 50th birthday. Right now I have 6 signature restaurants booked and thinking of dropping one. We have been to all except boathouse and Narcoossees. We have not been to Disney in 2 years and we love going to great restaurants. This is what I have booked;

Flying Fish
Bluezoo
Jiko
California Grill
Boathouse
Narcoosees.

Other restaurants for dinner are Boma, Raglan Road, and Via Napoli. I have Raglan Road for a late lunch the night of MVMCP I did book the Plaza for dinner but thinking of canceling it and doing the late lunch at Raglan Road
Thanks for any help you can give me.

California Grill
Unless you have your heart set on the view of the fireworks and or sushi, I'd let CA Grill go! I wished I'd done the same on 6/13. I sent a complaint letter to MS about our expensive, disapointing experience, regarding the lack of execution in the kitchen. I haven't tried the Boathouse yet, maybe next trip, love the rest of your list! And we really enjoy Ragland's for dinner, never been for lunch, is it the same menue?

Hmmm... All good choices. I would drop California Grill in favor of Narcoossees. Both have Wishes views and I think the food at Narcoossees is better. I prefer their Wishes view as well. Yes, its farther away, but it has a direct view. I would also drop Boathouse unless you are planning a DTD day. The transportation to get there is awful. The restaurant is very cool and the food was great, but not worth a half day trip just to eat. For similar reasons, I might suggest dropping Jiko if you are not doing an AK day. It's tough to get to as well. Anything you pick you will have a wonderful time!

I love Cali Grill! I definitely wouldn't drop it! I really wouldn't drop any of them. If/when DH and I get to take an adults only trip I can only hope that we will have an itinerary like yours (with possibly Monsieur Paul's added in).

Do not drop Narcoossee's. We eat at mostly signatures when we go and Narcoosse's is almost always the best meal of our trip.

I would drop CG. WIshes is really pretty from there, but you can view it from Narcoossees. and the food is delicious!

Thanks everyone!!!
I'm thinking of dropping California Grill. That was the one I was not sure of and you helped make my decision We don't eat sushi and I really only wanted to go for the view. I also found out that because we are DVC members we can see the fireworks from Bay Lake Tower so this could be a good option. Everyone here is so helpful!!!
Thanks again!!!!

I would also consider dropping Flying Fish and replacing it with V&A - or if that's too pricey Artist Point at WL. We were quite disappointed with FF and would have rathered AP. I do envy you your choices.

California Grill.
The view isn't worth it and it's quite crammed with many guests.
Also, not a fan of the food ever since the renovation a few years ago.

Wow talk about a Sophie's choice. We love CG but tend to be disappointed that their menus don't turn over as much. Looks like you made your mind up, but you so have
4 seafood places. It may be worth adding in Artiat point or yachtsman in place of one just to mix it up

We love Flying Fish, their steak, truffle mac and cheese, and adult peanut butter shake are soooooo good.

Of the ones listed, California Grill is the one I'd drop. I like it, but I like the others better, especially Flying Fish Cafe.

I would drop CG. We like to order drinks and sushi but I always get a vibe from the servers that they are annoyed with our choice (not to order a $50 entree each).

The view of the fireworks is fun but I think it is overrated. Coupled with the very expensive and not that great food, I think it is the one that has to go.

From my understanding, the meals at Boathouse are very expensive and there aren't any sides included. If you order the filet, it's just a filet. No potato or veg. I like visually appealing plates when I eat at upscale places. I just can't see myself getting really excited about having to purchase $15 side of asparagus with a $60 steak. That's just me tho!

First off, congratulations and Happy Birthday!!:bday: I cannot speak for most of the restaurants on your list, although I have heard lots of good things about California Grill. I can, however, HIGHLY RECOMMEND Raglan Road! We went there last Sep and our entire family loved it. My DD7 got to riverdance on stage, and my DS3 was flirting with the Irish dancer girls.:rolleyes1 Plus, I love the theme, since I have Celtic ancestry.

Anyway, I would definitely go there if at all possible. Very good food and a fun atmosphere. Good luck!!

I just got back from a week in Disney last where we dined for dinner at 5 signature restaurants (Jiko, Narcoossee's, Artist Point, California Grill and Yachtsman Steakhouse), 1 TS (Raglan Road) and V&A QVR. The only disappointments we had were at California Grill and YSH (they corrected the problem) with California Grill really standing out. This was our third time and we were so wanting to enjoy it, but just left us feeling underwhelmed for the third time. Once again, poor service, average food and very very noisy with a large party there from a convention. Three strikes and your out... Calfornia Grill is now on my "not returning list anytime soon." The view is not worth the service and food and now that I am a DVC member I'll head up to the Top of the World Lounge to view Wishes instead.
