D-Zone...what do you think?

I like the relaxing spaces in each park, but those are usually personal and not something built specifically for this purpose. Food vendors could be interesting if it'll be something different than the usual fare.

Charging phones is needed anymore, it was annoying to carry around the battery-pack type chargers...but it worked well.

I'd sure rather an attraction be built, but the stuff they are removing felt more like things I can get at our local family museum so I'm not sad to see them go.

are you talking about the new innovation west at epcot that will have an area to charge your devices and sit

yes I am all for some area to sit and have some time in the parks I wish there were more of them some people really do need them will be looking for it in my up coming trips

Since they are apparently not capable, anymore, of introducing anything innovative at Innoventions, its a good use of empty space. A place to get out of the heat or rain, recharge, and do nothing.

With all the vacant real estate at DHS, they should have no problem putting one of these places over there, either. I wonder where they could put one in AK. Somewhere in the Oasis would make sense. Which of course means they'd probably put it out in Conservation Station. ;)

Article does not say it is going inside, it states it is in the outside walkway/corridor between the character spot and Innoventions West. There are currently a few benches there. Sounds like they will be adding more seating plus the charging stations. We sometimes will sit there, it's shaded and you can catch the air conditioned air coming out from the character spot doors! They could do the same on the east side, between Mouse Gears and Innoventions East.

hmm, I guess I just assumed that it was a portion of the indoor space that is now closed...I forgot the layout of the area. Now that you mention it, I know exactly where this is and have spent some quality time there in the past to relax. So this basically is saying they're adding some benches and another food vendor (I think there is usually at least a bottled drink stand there)

Yep, a very minimalistic approach, simply adding some more seating and charging stations. They usually do have a vendor cart there with drinks so wonder what they will add or change. Article said it should be completed by next week so maybe someone will share.

If it IS indoors, it would be a great addition and something I've been railing about for a while.....that the huge, indoor, air conditioned space had no benches or anything to relax on.

NOT INDOORS. Here are the quotes from the article:

"The Innoventions West corridor near to Character Spot in Epcot's Future World will soon be home to a new relaxation area." and "The corridor has always been popular with guests to cool-off, but lack of seating has left people sitting on the floor."

It's the covered walkway between the two and NOT inside. If it was inside people would be sitting on their wallets much longer than Disney would like.

I think it is inside. They said "floor" not "ground".

Then it's one BIG corridor! And corridor means hallway or connecting space. I think the writer just used the wrong wording and time will tell if the wrong wording is "corridor" or "floor".

Air conditioned areas for relaxing and "recharging" (literally and figuratively) are great additions to the parks. They have removed so much seating already.
