Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

Ok club level lovers, I'm in need of a little help. I'm going to squeeze in a short trip in September and am trying to decide which resort has the best club level. We stayed last year for the first time in club level and really enjoyed it. We choose YC for the awesome pool, but would like to try something different this time. I'm leaning towards BW or CR. AKL, WL, and GF are all options as well.

I have a couple questions :-)

I have a split stay between AKL CL and CR Tower Club [3/2]. I will be checking out of AKL at 11, then driving over to the CR. Since I am so early I know my room may not be ready for awhile. Will someone still meet me outside to bring me up like they have done at WL/AKL? At AKL do they still do this? I have read reports of people having to go find someone or stand in the normal line for check in. I have previously just told the security/ID check person coming in that I am staying CL, and then someone was always there out front to help me check in by the time I was there. Also, is there anything specific about going from CL to CL I should know?

Also, is it normal for IPO to not handle private dining requests? I asked to have two of the Cinderella's slipper desserts ordered for my CR room one night, and was basically brushed off and emailed that I need to call private dining to do it myself. I know it isn't a big deal, but with the steep price of CR CL it was a little off-putting.

I absolutely LOVE AKL CL. The staff are absolutely amazing. They are willing to go above and beyond and are so kind and helpful! WL was nice, but nothing spectacular. I loved the staff at AKL. They were so great and it really made the experience that much better!

It's hard to say about the private dining request. If it were me, I'd do it myself. Some of this stuff gets complicated with paying by CC and so on. There more layers of confusion, the more it can be confused. I do understand what you're saying though.

Well, I will give the opposite opinion. We have stayed both AKL and WL club level. While we really liked AKL CL, we all preferred WL. We liked being on the same floor as the club, and we felt the evening food selections were much better - more substantial food (like this could be your dinner many nights) and more to our group's taste. So - we'll probably do WL again in the future over AKL.

Yeah, I plan on just setting it up myself, it's not a huge deal, I was just a little annoyed with the response. Especially since I don't use IPO for dining or FPs really (which I know is on me not them), it's just a little frustrating to get a do it yourself response on the one thing I've asked for.

I should have probably noted I am a little biased towards not liking WL all that much. My mother recently built and now lives in an actual log cabin, and the whole place just reminds me of an expanded version of my mother's house. For some reason I just can't shake that feeling haha! Though, I really did prefer the AKL staff.

Hoping someone can clear up some confusion about the 4th FP via texting---When this was discussed in earlier posts, I always thought it was just as easy for me to go to a kiosk to select my next FP. However, a few posts back someone mentioned that they were able to get FPs through the texting service that weren't available at the kiosks. I just wanted to follow up on that because I hadn't previously really assigned much added value to the FP texting service. Are we really getting something extra?

Curious about this as well, I wasn't aware of it (although I suppose there's still a great deal about CL I'm not aware of).

I have not been to the Beach Club since the remodel of the lounge. I saw the pictures on page 1 and was impressed. Are the offerings the same or have they changed. I know the ones at the BW have changed, just wondering about the Beach Club. I am so looking forward to our return. Any info I can get would be a help. Thank you!

The CM I spoke with at BC CL over Easter break told me that not every resort offers the 4th FP texting service, which was consistent with what I read here on the DIS, but in the letter he gave me at check-in, it did have a specific texting number in it and he told me that I was welcome to use it to request 4th FP. I hesitated at first and instead went to the park kiosks, but when there was never anything available that we wanted, I decided to try the texting. I couldn't believe they were able to get us whatever ride we wanted at any time we wanted! It was so easy -- I didn't have to do a thing except send the text.

Dansdad here on the DIS confirmed this service is now available at every CL, so I'm really excited about it! I personally do feel like it's something extra special that CL guests get. It really changed how we toured the parks over Easter. I'm hoping for the same perks at Poly over July 4.

Also curious if AKL and/or CR are doing the FP texting service.

I quoted below dansdad confirming the service in all CL's!! :rainbow:

Is anyone back recently from Poly to know if they're doing the texting service yet (for 4th FP)? I know BC is and it ended up enriching our vacation tremendously! I know they're experimenting with different things, etc. All I want to know is if anyone has recently returned from Poly with this info:sunny: Thanks!!

Yes, this is offered at all the CLs.

Did WL have the 4th FP texting service up and going for your stay? Someone did say a few pages back that all resorts have now adapted this policy, but I'm not sure if he was just speculating or if he indeed was reporting based on his experience.

It wasn't speculation. :thumbsup2

We were recently at BC CL. The new lounge is indeed awesome, as are the renovated rooms! The breakfast offerings have become much better. They now serve a platter with various rolled up meats and cheese, which we loved. This is in addition to the hard boiled eggs, oatmeal, and grits. They also had a yogurt station to create your own. Also the normal cut-up fruits, pastries, bagels. We thought the breakfast each morning was fabulous. Afternoon snacks seemed about the same as in the past, maybe more of a variety instead of the same staples every day. At dinner time, they still put out 2 hot offerings, but also a lot of other things to go with them, such as salads. There is a lot more space to put food now, and they really filled it up nicely. The only thing we were somewhat disappointed with was the desserts. They did put out a LOT of variety each night, but it was the exact same each night. We finally asked a CM if they were going to switch things up and the CM said the desserts wouldn't change.

THis is wonderful news. We have never stayed CL nor have we ever used the whole new fast pass system so it is a bit overwhelming. So glad to hear of another perk of staying CL.

A question though- does everyone in your party have to text or can one person (say me or my DH) text and have the 4th fast pass show up on all our bands.

I initiated the texts every time and the CM magically attached them to our accounts! I didn't have to do a thing except ask for the 4th FP. I did specify who I wanted the FP's for, though (which was always all 4 of us...).

This is great! Do you know if the 4th has to be for the same park?

I can't wait! And I'm the conspicuous one with a daughter in a wheelchair-- she makes it kind of hard to miss me.
Is she the gorgeous Tink in your avatar? I'll be the pooh sized, auburn haired, freckled 30 something there with her parents and sister. :goodvibes
