New survey .. proposal .. Tiered Ticket Prices

No cocktails in MK..not happening. and yes, if you book for July 4 or after you get the new price, which is almost twice the previous price.

Don't really like Fantasmic so I think I'd just eat at the Derby and forget the package stuff. I did do the Star Wars package for $70. I liked doing it.

And they're just surveying on this ticket thing right now...checking to see if guests might still actually pay for something like this. If they survey you, tell em no.
Its true, Fantasmic was just eh. The dinner was amazing! At that point, the VIP vouchers were almost a joke.

I'd be much more interested in the SWW one IF it had chairs. I stood right next to them for free. We all stood. Not sure their bonehead idea for fancy table cloths and standing for hours more...

We took a relatively spontaneous trip to Maui this spring (booked 4 months in advance because other family was going on a business trip). It was practically no planning and very relaxing. With Disney increasing prices and making things more complicated I see our vacations becoming much more varied. Kinda sad though as I love seeing the magic in my kids' eyes but I guess they will experience variety and vacations more like I did as a kid (road trips, National Parks, etc.).

What frustrates me as much of the up-cost is the penalty for not pulling your kids out of school and waiting for those peak/gold days. I travel during spring break because my kids are in school and I am a teacher. I cannot just randomly take a vacation in January..... although I wish I could. By choosing this I am already paying higher prices in hotels and food, now I have to pay a higher ticket price?!
Thanks for penalizing the working families!!

LOL it wasn't hours. It was 45 minutes. and nobody pressed up against me like you all were outside the rope. I wish they could have made me a rum and coke though.

Eh we had plenty of personal space, no bodies. It does make me wonder what would happen in an emergency tho... And you cannot see ANY fireworks by the stage! HS is hard to see fireworks in general! I heard to go by the Lake, sounds like that's where the crew goes and that's where CMs recommended. Let's see if I like it more than my balcony this time...

Quite obvious this is a ploy to increase profits, that's what this always comes down to. I don't mind paying a higher price if I know I'm getting something back as the consumer. I don't know what this new pricing structure would do for me as a consumer other than pay higher prices. It's ridiculous to think it will do anything to lessen the crowds in the parks, enhance in-park guest experience, and improve cast member interaction.

Also, if I'm paying the gold level can anybody assure me the weather will be nice or somebody in my group won't get sick?

This! Not everyone can go during off-season. While I understand that hotels have moved to seasonal pricing, it's crazy to see ticket prices possibly following suit. Not a fan.

Didn't read all the replies, but it's crappola like this that makes me glad we got our golden Disney years in with the kids before these recent changes. I think this year may be our last hurrah. Good timing to transition to other options.

Dan

Yeah - it's one more change that adds nothing for the guest and increases the profit for Disney. I'm all for paying more if I GET more. Somebody at the helm is missing that concept.

We are DVC members. If they go ahead with this type of scenario we will likely: A) use our DVC stays more as a home base to spend more time at the resort/less in the parks and explore other Orlando attractions and B) use our points for other DVC destinations (Aulani/DL/Hilton Head/Vero).

I can appreciate the unexpected planning for a non-regular. We took our 1st trip to Disneyland last summer and spent more time planning that trip than our more regular WDW trips.
But our most difficult part was researching non-scary, reasonably priced hotels in between National Park stops. There are not many options in the big expanses of area out west.

I think the more "nos" that Disney gets to the survey the more validation they will get to go through with it. Thus far, "no" means "ye$"

We are a working family too, but we have the opposite problem with time off, we cant take school holidays off, or most holidays for that matter, we make more money then or its a requirement to work. For disney trips its nice to be able to go in off season, but its a pain to have holidays the day before or after.

I took this survey as well. We go for a week at a time, during "silver" and "bronze" times, so we would pay the silver price. But I did NOT take it to say that it would be $115 (or whatever it was) PER DAY. I took that to mean that it's the single day price, but it would still be similar to the Magic Your Way ticket in that the more days you buy the less you pay per day. I didn't get the feeling they were taking that away.

I don't remember all of the questions, but one of them was something like "would you be willing to pay more for a ticket if you had GUARANTEED lower crowds?"

It might not give anyone more it may could bring the value/cost to Disney in line. As I have said before if in July they do Fireworks every night and the parks are open until 12-1am from 7 or 8am then in Oct the parks are only open 9-7 with fireworks available a few times a week, why should we pay the same in admission? Disney is not providing us with the same opportunity for that admission fee. Why should my WP&M cost the same when TPL is closed?
