I Can! I Can Stink at 9am! A January TR - 3/8 New TR Link!

And here is this absolutely glorious specimen

It was hot, sweet and flaky on the inside. It was pure deliciousness.

Ah, I completely forgot about those in April. Guess I will have to wait until the summer of 2016 to try one. :scared1:

These are SO common here. Remind me in the fall that I'll get you a few of ours to sample. ;)

Okay, and with that I am all caught up. Love your Epcot day and am glad that you enjoyed Tutto Gusto - we just love that stuff and just had LOADS of it during our trip to Italy two weeks ago. Your ice-cream sandwich looks yummy, but it would be melted all over the place if I had one - I eat FAR too slow for something like that.
Can't wait for more TR to come.

Oh and your June trip looks awesome - please take the time to do a TR, even though it is not Disney. :goodvibes

Now why in the world would I skip all the marvelous beverages (TEQUILA!) that Mexico has to offer

You are starting to scare me! Bypassing booze?? :scared1: And tequila no less!

And here is this absolutely glorious specimen

Okay I have called off the men in white coats! This (almost!) makes up for skipping the booze! :rotfl:

It was hot, sweet and flaky on the inside. It was pure deliciousness. The only downside is that I didn’t think DH would want to share this and he took one bite and instantly wanted more. So I had to share :sad2::snooty:

You see. This is why I don't share my food.

tumblr_mdp42qWy2y1qih9gi.gif
So many years, DH had bought a replacement lotion in the shop attached to the Tea Caddy because he hated the smell of one of the lotions I had purchased on a past trip. Said I smelled like an old lady. :lmao: I like old lady smell!

:rotfl2: Now there are two types of old lady smell:
1. The fresh baked cookies, flowers and talc smell
or
2. The I have too many cats smell.
Which were you? :scratchin

I thought I took a picture of it, but I posted this on my Instagram near the 8th anniversary of his passing :goodvibes

So we couldn’t just leave the UK Pavilion without some precious liquid in hand. I believe this is Boddingtons

There she is! Redeemed! :thumbsup2:drinking1

And then I told him as he was scanning my MB that that was awkward since he was my brother! :rotfl2::rotfl: He was mortified and I instantly told him I was joking and he started busting up. He was lots of fun!

:lmao: You are so cruel! I love it!

DS ended up waking up so I fed him some of the pasta while DM shopped and DH did whatever DH’s do in France. Probably hid somewhere and played Candy Crush. :rotfl2:

A man has to do what a man has to do.::yes::

Everyone kept telling me to try the Croque Glace (ice cream in a warm brioche) and because I have no will power and give into peer pressure pretty easily, I went with it. ::yes::

What is this "will power" thing you speak of? :confused3 Never heard of it....:rolleyes1

I ordered it with raspberry sauce:earseek:

This looks like heaven! I want one! Darn why can't I just live in WDW?

It's actually probably best I don't. You know that show My 600 lb Life? Yeah I think that would be me!:rotfl:

However, he was way more interested in what I was having. Duh kid, mom always chooses the good stuff. :thumbsup2

He's a smart one! :thumbsup2

Because I thought these were jello shots :lmao:

How awesome would that be?! I would buy them ALL! :drinking:

We found ourselves back in Italy where DH and DM were in sedulous concentration over which candy to buy

:scratchin

It is a VERY important decisions to make choosing candy. Just buy it all!

:rotfl:
That was the only stop we made in Italy because we were trying to stick to a schedule of: More booze, Test Track and dinner at Yachtsman Steakhouse at 6:15pm.

I like your style. Booze, ride, food. :thumbsup2 Better that than booze, food, ride :crazy2: At least for the people riding behind you anyway...

DS started getting fussy so I threw a soccer ball at him. Well it was more like lightly tossed. And to make the whining stop, I ended up lessening the severeity of the situation by making him disappear

Parenting 101 with Alicia! :teacher:

He got a ‘kick’ out of it. (Dang I’m good.) :rotfl2::cool:

:lmao: Comedy gold!

MMM that cronut looks amazing! But the ice cream sandwich...WHOA.
My boyfriend is a soccer fanatic too, I have a feeling we'll be spending a LOT of time in that shop (and the one in England) haha.
Love that being covered with soccer balls made DS laugh!

Another great update - making me want to be in Epcot right now!

Your PP pics/brother joke reminded me a CM asked DH and I one time 'what our relation was' before asking us to kiss for a photo

If you need a refill on that Berkley Square lotion.. I know someone who lives where it's sold ;)

I didn't know jalapeño pretzels were available in Epcot too.. must go back!

Emma x

It sounds like your time in WS was filled with all the best things - good drinks and food.

Tutto Gusto looks delicious. I think it gets overlooked for Via Napoli but it seems like a great choice!

The warm brioche sandwich is so on my list. I had no idea existed but it's popping up on TRs everywhere now. How do you even attack that thing? Do you need a knife and fork?

I like the idea of making DS run stairs to wear him out...will have to keep that in mind for next trip.

These pictures are adorable!

Excellent update - probably because it involved lots of adult beverages and yummy food.

I need to get back to Tutto Gusto. It's such a cool place.

The ice cream sandwich looks fabulous. Wow - thanks for posting that picture because I didn't even know such a thing existed.

I love the gardens and pond in Japan. Great idea to let Calvin run off some energy.

Can I just come on your next vacation and be a part of your family? I promise to always have a drink in my hand and only shop while tipsy :drinking1

First the cronut, isn't it pure and utter perfection. We have a grocery store by our house that sells them and while not as good as the disney version its nice to have such a good healthy breakfast option so close to home.

I've always wanted to eat at the wine bar but haven't had an opportunity. Did they not allow kids in awake mode? Your meal looks exactly like I would order. Prosciutto and cheese and pasta and WINE. #GiveItToMeNow

The brioche ice cream is on my bucket list too. Just told hubby he will indulge me come September!

Hope the margaritas and Yachtsman work out.

I can never get tired of EPCOT during the holiday season. All the treats that you got look very appetizing. Calvin has a lot of soccer balls to choose from.

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: you got a Cronut. Aren't they wonderful? I would have made DH go back and get me another one if he was taking bites of mine. :rotfl2:

Sorry they didn't have the lotion, but so glad you found the cakes your Dad liked.

Great photopass pics with DH....and shame on you giving that CM a hard time. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Lunch looks yummy.

Score on the make up from DM.

How was the ice cream? I've never eaten there. And mommy's ALWAYS get the better stuff.

:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao: with the soccer balls all over DS.

The Cronuts are seriously everything. They are perfect!

I had pretty much forgotten about the lotion when DM pointed out the Jaffa Cakes :hyper:

Kathy, I just had to do it! He was chanting and everything!:rotfl2:

The ice cream is so delicious! Next time i'll try something else to be different but you can never go wrong with chocolate.

YAY! Another update! I was JUST posting in my PTR and I was like maaayyyyybbbeee Lesha has an update and BOOM! Right there! Everything you ate looks so so good. I can't wait to try the Crouque Glace. I am gonna finish it like a cheesecake ( Fat Amy is my fave) You are such a smart mama to have him run the stairs. Gotta wear those munchkins out! So excited to see if you make it to Yachtsman and get all of your drinking and riding in! Great update!

Fat Amy! :rotfl2::rotfl: Considering how big Epcot is, there really isn't much 'running' space for kids, but the stairs worked as his playground for sure. Gonna check out your PTR right now!

I knew it had to be a Cronut, but I just didn't want to say and give it away. Really. I promise. I swear I'm not lying. Why are you saying I'm lying? I really really really am serious and I really really really am not lying...

.. OK I'm lying.

lilo i knew it.gif

But as soon as I read that I figured it had to be a Cronut. No really I did!!!!

:rotfl::rotfl2:

You should have licked it! Although maybe that wouldn't have helped. :scratchin

Probably not. Considering he was already making jokes about the name of the delightful snack...our last name being Crow and all:rolleyes1

So what you're really saying is you skipped Canada entirely.

Agh, pretty much :scared: Sorry Rob!!! Wish I could just make myself disappear pixiedust:

Which you have to take as gospel truth because... English accent. :thumbsup2

Of course ::yes::

That really is beautiful Alicia. What a lovely tribute. :flower3:

Thanks Rob:goodvibes

OMG :rotfl2:, I was actually thinking how awkward it is when they ask that and you're not a couple. OMG that's hysterical.

Exactly! Just had to give him a hard time for all the siblings he forced to kiss out there:rotfl:

I know what you mean. This is the park where going slow is encouraged. :goodvibes

Absolutely, I think that's another reason why Epcot's my favorite park. There isn't 'much' to do, but there's tons to do if that makes sense :confused3 And I really don't feel like i'm in a time constraint at Epcot, unlike DHS or MK.

Great updates! I got a little behind. I can't believe your DS did his, ah, "business" again in line for LWTL! LOL!

I can't believe you DH was playing Candy Crush in the parks! That's nuts.

Mmmmmmm........Cronut. I have to try one of those this year for sure!

You got a lot done in WS. Love that you told the PP that DH was your brother. I would have loved to see his face when you said that!

Oh DS. What I would give to be in the line of LWTL now, since he's a little backed up now and being cranky from it :rotfl:

Oh my gosh, you MUST add this to your list for sure! Literally, just get a tattoo of a cronut on your hand or wrist just so you'll remember, that's how imperative it is to try one!

He was definitely shocked when I said that but I didn't want him to feel too bad so I told him right away that I was kidding. Poor guy!

Fat Amy! :rotfl2::rotfl: Considering how big Epcot is, there really isn't much 'running' space for kids, but the stairs worked as his playground for sure. Gonna check out your PTR right now!

I know... with all that free space from all of the closed Attractions they have to make a playground for the LOs to run around in...... Like at HS or AK. DS LOOVVVEEDDD the little playgrounds at F&G, even if those were permanent it would be awesome!
I am not above this! I'm sure I will write it on my hand at some point! I know my DH will love it too.

Bobby and I went to Vegas at the end of June and it was 100 degrees when we landed at midnight. It was sort of crazy. BUT it really is a dry heat, and I thought it was totally bearable. Bobby was more uncomfortable than I was but I would say it is nowhere near as bad as WDW in the summer :sunny:

YUCK! I know, I think you East Coasters have it easy when you come out to the West in the Summer. You're used to disgusting, wet heat and can deal with dry heat much better. I, on the other hand cannot handle any type of heat. Or rather, refuse to handle any type of heat:snooty:

The trip sounds awesome!

I'm so looking forward to it!

I should have known that something was up when DH was actually helping with the planning:sad2:

So much for our being in sync with the drinks :sad2:

But you will forgive me later!

Yay! Props for me!!!

You know me too well!

Wow, this looks so good! I meant to have one in August but didn't. I've the ones at Dunkin Donuts a few times and they're good but I bet this is 1,000 times better!

Did I know that they had one at Dunkin Donuts??:scratchin Hmm. While we were in Vegas, I visited DD three times and don't think I saw it on the menu? I'll definitely have to remember for next time. Unforunately, we don't have DD's near us. I think the closest one is in Santa Monica, 2 1/2 hours away.

I'm glad you got to have a meaningful, nostalgic moment with your family over that memory :goodvibes

Aw thanks!

This was so stinkin' hilarious, I couldn't help myself!

I didn't know that! Good tip!

YES! For all restaurants that we went into, especially when DS was 2 months, every restaurant allowed our stroller because he was sleeping (and really, that's all that 2 month old kids do at the time anyway:lmao:) so it totally worked out for us. We were able to have nice, relaxing meals without having to worry about his comfort.

Wait, what flavor did you have? I've scrolled up and down three times and didn't see what you picked. Am I missing it? Whatever it is, it does look amazing in that bun though.

I thought you knew me better than that. Don't you know i'm a choco-holic?! :faint: Also, i'm an idiot and forgot to include the flavor:laughing:

Wow, that's a lot of good eatin' at Epcot!! That ice cream sandwich thing you had looked divine! I'm curious about the profiterole ice cream...hmmmm. Also...crooonutttt...want one!!! Your DS seemed to have done pretty well with all that WS walking and eating considering...I hope my DD (9) does that well when we go to Epcot lol...because I will want to spend some time there!!!

Looking back at their flavor menu, i'm intrigued about that Profiterole flavor too! I don't know anyone that has chosen that. However i'm scared I won't like it and then i'll have just wasted a $7 treat. Cronut has to happen! Well, DS was in the stroller pretty much the entire time. Thank goodness for strollers cause I would never survive any park without one. :rotfl:

I like your schedule! Anything that starts with booze and ends with Yachtsman is fine with me! Love the soccer balls hiding Calvin. ;)

Jill in CO

:rotfl: Jill I agree!

How have I not had one of those yet?

And how did I not guess that was where you were headed?

Probably because you haven't tried one yet. Please do me a favor and try one next time. Goes even better with Starbucks :teeth:

No. For marital bliss there should be a one bite rule. If you want anymore go buy another one.

I may or may not, have been throwing a toddler-sized fit when he went for the second bite:blush:

That stinks. No pun intended. Of course they stopped carrying the lotion you always get. Candy is a nice consolation prize, but I'd probably go for a beer instead.

I think my lame sense of humor is wearing off on you. Excellent :scratchin (in my Mr. Burns voice)

I'm glad they had them. That's kind of a nice story/tribute to the memory of your dad. I'm sure you enjoyed them.

Thanks! They are really good.

Ok, that's better. I was starting to worry about you.

Never doubt me. ::yes::

:rotfl2::rotfl::lmao::rotfl2::rotfl::lmao: That is hilarious.

It was totally hilarious! I think DH was a tad embarrassed by my comment :rotfl:

Never been in there. I'd like to check it out sometime. I just always get sucked in by the gravitational pull of Via Napoli any time I enter the Italy pavilion though. It's nice when they make an exception for the sleeping kid in the stroller so that the parents can enjoy a quiet meal.

Dude, I know. Via Napoli is hard to look over. However, we made ADR's for VN for later in the trip.

:rotfl: I was going to guess it was time for a slush. But I guess that works too.

I would have been beyond ECSTATIC had he gone for the slush instead of the phone. But he has a reputation to maintain. At the time, he was the 3rd highest on my friends on the map and was determined to inch up

Works for me. Sounds like it would be good!

Oh man, it is ridiculously good.

:rotfl2: No... but for prices like that they should at least offer 1 or 2 samples so you can make sure you like it.

Right?! Even if I hated the flavor, I'd eat it out of spite for the price. And also, there isn't really any flavor ice cream I detest. Well, Vanilla I suppose.

Um... where's the ice cream?

The bun is actually pretty large!

Whew... there it is. Ok, that does look good.

And don't be fooled, the ice cream serving is pretty generous. However, they could have drizzled way more sauce. But I may have looked like a complete mess after!

Booze. Fast cars. Steak.

Aw yeah! :worship: Everything you could want in a sentence.

Yep, I'm sold. Let's go!

:hyper:

mom-kicks-soccer-ball-in-kids-face-kids-sports-gifs.gif

OMG that is so terrible and funny at the same time! And why do I see myself doing this in the future? We have a few soccer balls in the backyard and i'm so not accurate with my kick. Just wait for it. I promise one day i'll come back to report this epic failure.

Well, that's probably better. But I was totally picturing something similar to that gif when you mentioned it.

I probably would have been arrested. But it's Florida...so maybe not???:confused3

:sad2: It's so bad that it really is kind of funny. :rotfl2:

So bad!

Ah, I completely forgot about those in April. Guess I will have to wait until the summer of 2016 to try one. :scared1:/QUOTE]

Oh Karin, that's way too far away :sad2:

These are SO common here. Remind me in the fall that I'll get you a few of ours to sample. ;)

I bet you're so sick of seeing Jaffa Cakes! :rotfl2: We used to have a 'British' type store along the coast that we visited to stash up on the stuff, but they closed a while back :sad2:

Okay, and with that I am all caught up. Love your Epcot day and am glad that you enjoyed Tutto Gusto - we just love that stuff and just had LOADS of it during our trip to Italy two weeks ago. Your ice-cream sandwich looks yummy, but it would be melted all over the place if I had one - I eat FAR too slow for something like that.
Can't wait for more TR to come.

IN the Summer, that Brioche Ice cream would be EVERYWHERE cause i'm a slow eater too!

Oh and your June trip looks awesome - please take the time to do a TR, even though it is not Disney. :goodvibes

I'll totally do a mini-TR on this! :goodvibes

I was wondering why you weren't quoting my post, until I realized that I never commented on this chapter!

We've been planning a road trip up to Seattle that will take place in June and are so excited! I've been wanting to do this for years and figured this Summer would be the best time to do this. Hopefully it won't be too much for DS but here's the plan:

Sounds like a great trip. I guess your DH is hoping that he can pay off this trip too with the Casino stays. :confused3 It doesn't work that way every time. :rolleyes1

It was hot, sweet and flaky on the inside. It was pure deliciousness. The only downside is that I didn’t think DH would want to share this and he took one bite and instantly wanted more. So I had to share :sad2::snooty:

I liked the cronut and I've had a couple here in town, but I prefer to keep my pastries separate. Croissant or Donut. Now bake some Ham and Cheese inside that Croissant and now you're talking! :thumbsup2

So we asked one of the girls working and she said they no longer sold it as of only a few months prior!

That's a bummer.

They finally had Jaffa Cakes in the store! :hyper: If you don’t know about Jaffa Cakes, they are this delicious shortbread type cookie with a little bit of chocolate and an orange filling. So yummy!

How nice that they had something special to take your mind off what the didn't have.

And then I told him as he was scanning my MB that that was awkward since he was my brother! :rotfl2:

:lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

We were seated right away since it wasn’t busy. And really, I’ve never seen it busy before.

That looks like a great place! I would love it, but sadly I don't think Fran would like it so much.

Everyone kept telling me to try the Croque Glace (ice cream in a warm brioche) and because I have no will power and give into peer pressure pretty easily, I went with it. ::yes::

I'd have to go with the Ice Cream Martini. Not a big brioche fan, but anything covered in Grand Mariner, sign me up!

First, just wanted to say that we did a trip out to Seattle about 1.5 years ago and enjoyed it. We did the Chihuly Garden and Glass museum and really, really, liked that. We also did a Winery tour and a Brewery tour (since, you know, it's us) and enjoyed that - especially the brewery one (Did it with Road Dogs which was great - actually covered the tour on my beer blog if you have some time to kill and want to read it: http://beerlinguist.com/1/post/2013/10/road-dog-brewery-tour.html)

We did brunch at the Space Needle which worked out well since it includes the price of going up to the top of the tower. Plus just walking around was nice (if hilly). Oh, we also did the night time version of the underground tour which was really cool too.

********************

Glad you enjoyed the Cronut. For some reason the fact they now have them at Dunkin Donuts makes them less appealing to me - though I am sure having one hot and fresh in Disney makes them much, much better.

Sorry they no longer carry the lotion - that is odd if it was such a good seller. Hopefully you can find something else to smell like that is DH approved :thumbsup2 But that is cool they had the Jaffa Cakes - always nice to get a reminder of a loved one like that :goodvibes

ah, nice to see you got the PP photographer with the ol brother/sister joke :rotfl:

Everyone kept telling me to try the Croque Glace (ice cream in a warm brioche) and because I have no will power and give into peer pressure pretty easily, I went with it. ::yes::
... also as evidenced by the fact you kissed your brother on the lips with only a little prompting ;)

Hope you enjoyed it - we thought they were very good but did get messy fast if it was hot out. Also, props for not being sucked into the option on the menu that included booze (though that ice cream martini is definitely on my "to do" list)

Love the picture of DS with all the soccer balls :rotfl2:

YUCK! I know, I think you East Coasters have it easy when you come out to the West in the Summer. You're used to disgusting, wet heat and can deal with dry heat much better. I, on the other hand cannot handle any type of heat. Or rather, refuse to handle any type of heat:snooty:

You're right, I'm forgetting that you're not used to humidity. Seriously, you must NEVER go to WDW in August

They've only just added it recently and it seems to be limited quantity since sometimes they don't have them. We have DD everywhere here. There are at least 3 within a mile of my house.

Hi! My name is PiO and I have been completely oblivious!!!!!

29 stinking pages before someone bumps up your PTR and I finally realise that I've completely missed this TR?????
(All my words are completely bleeped out by the Dis Filters!!!!!)

So sorry to read about DH's health scare!!!! And I'm so pleased to read that the MRI was all clear. Is he feeling all better now?

I've been trying to catch up. Love all the food porn!!!

Great update! Oh my goodness, a cronut and the French ice cream place popcorn:: I'm ready to go back now! :hyper:

Love the Jaffa cake story.

Your Seattle plans sound great :) and it's coming up fast!

Epcot!

Checking Off that To-Do List

We had just gotten out of the Living Seas Pavilion and headed towards the World Showcase, when I asked to go around through Canada. Now why in the world would I skip all the marvelous beverages (TEQUILA!) that Mexico has to offer and walk further from there. I have seen this Cronut pop up on many TR’s and heard great things about it so I knew I had to have it now! And I have to give props to @heathsf for figuring out where I was headed! :cool1:

And here is this absolutely glorious specimen

It was hot, sweet and flaky on the inside. It was pure deliciousness. The only downside is that I didn’t think DH would want to share this and he took one bite and instantly wanted more. So I had to share :sad2::snooty:

Gotta ask - is it better than the Dunkin' Donuts version of the Croissant Donut? I have had that and wasn't too impressed with it, for the price. It's like $2.79, which is more than twice the price of a regular donut, so I usually go with a filled donut, like Boston Creme, when I get a donut at Dunkin'.

Edited to add: I see from reading posts after the one I responded to, that you have not tried the DD one.
