We are currently in the middle of booking a 3 night stay on the Disney Dream Bahama sailing for 4th Nov 2016.
We are looking for a Deluxe Family Oceanview with w/Verandah Starboard side.
However im finding it hard to see on the maps or decks which cabins have murphy beds.
We are 2 adults & 3 kids under 6. So 2 of the kids will need to share the bunk beds and the 3rd kid needs the murphy bed.

Can anyone recommend a deck and stateroom number starboard.

Thanks

All family deluxe come with murphy beds in order to accomodate the 5 people.

Not all fit five. We were on the Fantasy in a category 04B (stateroom 8600) and it only slept 4. It had a queen bed, sofa bed and a pull down bunk. There was no murphy bed.

OP - DCL deck plans don't indicate how many the rooms sleep. When you go to book your cruise for your family of five, DCL will only show you room numbers that will accommodate five.

It is my understanding that if you try to book your reservation on DCL, it will give you room numbers that will fit your family of five. Every room they offer you in your category will be able to fit 5 with the Murphy bed. They won't offer you a category or room that only fits 3 or 4. Hope this helps!

We booked a category 4c for our cruise last year and were very happy on deck 7. This year we are trying deck 8 only because there were no rooms available for a family of 5 on deck 7. I just thought it was a little cheaper on deck 7 (usually lower deck means less money).

Surprisingly we were very happy with the DCL rooms for 5 people. We weren't in our rooms all that much to feel crowded. i usually showered and dressed the kids first and then brought them to the kids clubs so I can get ready in peace. Enjoy!

OP - I'm having the same issues! I wish there was some listing of what rooms actually slept 5.

We have an 8D reserved for Fantasy sailing next November. It's a connecting room and I'd prefer a room that was NOT connecting if at all possible. There are few 8Ds (or 8C or 8B) that appear to be non-connecting, so I'm having a rough time finding an alternative.

I guess I'll just have to call DCL and have them plug in the ones I THINK sleep five and go from there.

It's a little frustrating because some of the stateroom reviews I read will say "sleeps five" and others - for the exact same room - will say no pull down bed or no bunk...so that's a 4-person room. It would be nice if there were an official list or something...probably a very tedious process to do.

First world problems :)

Have a happy day everyone!

The categories in general will say sleep "3-4" or "4-5" meaning that not all rooms in that category sleep the max. Like others have said the site will not show you rooms that will not hold your family.

We have been in category 8B room 9000, not connecting and definitely sleeps 5. Our next cruise we will also be in an 8B, this time in 9500, same set-up.. not connecting and sleeps 5. There's no verandah, but the room is plenty big and we LOVE the large porthole with a cushion. And my son loves to lay in the Murphy bed and watch the ocean go by at night.

We are currently in a Category 8D, but our room is on Deck 6 (#6672).

Thanks for the info on room 9000 and 9500...those were both on my wish list but appear to be taken at the moment. Glad to hear you had a good experience! I'll keep stalking the available rooms!

There was a list out here on one of the threads that had which rooms slept 5, but I am not sure where it is. Maybe you can search. fyi- 9590 sleeps 4

When they have the sofa bed instead of Murphy that still fits five. 2 for the sofa bed, 1 bunk and 2 queen. We had this in the Family stateroom Concierge. I prefer the Murphy where everyone has their own bed.

We just sailed on our first Disney Cruise on the Dream in March!! We had a Deluxe Family Oceanview w/Verandah, stateroom 8116. There were 5 of us, 2 adults and 3 teenagers and I felt that we had plenty of room. We loved the location, it was midship and close to everything we did considering the size of the ship! Good luck!

we have been given Deck 8 Category 4D Stateroom 8628 Starboard side. This has the murphy bed in the room & a verandah. Im so excited.
Im a first time cruiser so i know absolutely NOTHING about cruising.
What tips/suggestions can you all give me, we have been booked for 1 seating whatever that means lol.
Sorry complete newbie, so its booked... now what.

This thread may help you -- post 2 lists the staterooms and how many people each sleeps. I believe most staterooms are included here. Only categories 4 and 8 will sleep 5, but as noted not all staterooms in those categories sleep the max.

Another option that many families of 5 look into is getting 2 staterooms. Since there are relatively few staterooms sleeping 5, it can sometimes be similar price to book 2 staterooms and get double the space.

Enjoy your cruise!

How did you find the Disney Dream and Cruise as a first timer? Did you have any of those decorations for your door etc
Any tips you have would be great as it will be our first time cruising also, difference is we will have 3 kids under the age of 6 lol.

Keep in mind that, even if a cabin physically can accommodate 5 people, when you try to book there also has to be room in the appointed life boats for those cabins as well as sufficient space for all of the children in the kid's clubs (since they can't turn anyone away because it's full). So just knowing that a cabin sleeps 5 may not be sufficient for you to be able to book it. That's why you're given a selection of cabins that can accommodate the number of adults and children at the time you book. There may be a cabin that sleeps 5 and that isn't booked but you still may not be able to book it.

Have you considered booking to connecting cabins? We too are a family of 5, and we recently booked two connecting cabins for our b2b cruises. We're saving quite a bit of money in doing so. You may want to do a bit of price comparison to see what would be best for you and your family.

All the best...

i might consider changing to 2 connecting rooms with just the porthole altogether, what decks or rooms would you recommend for this?

Also please tell me the front door of these cabins are not easily opened, i would be a bit nervious with leaving the kids in the the cabin. Ofviously i will leave the connecting door open so that i can hear them,

oh i just seen that there is a sailing on the 31st Oct ( we are booked on the 4th Nov ) Which sailing would you book considering 31st is holloween, to be honest there isnt much of a difference price wise except for 400....
