I KNOW isn't that AWESOME!!!!I had no idea 'Ohana would do that! That's great to know!

I will say that when my daughter wanted Mac n cheese from cap'n cooks for lunch one day and they didn't have it, they got her some from Kona cafe! That's just great customer service! We usually stay at GF, but we always eat at 'ohana. I may have to see if they can get me some pot stickers late one night (even if I have to pick them up)!I KNOW isn't that AWESOME!!!!
Oh my goodness... SWOON! Now I'm even more excited. The turret style rooms are definitely my first choice, and I will put a request in for that when the online check in window opens up. But, I'm going to be open minded and if we get the other style of room, I'm sure I will love it just as much! Here are some pictures of the Deluxe King turret room. I don't miss the balcony at all in these rooms because there are so many windows! Sorry to those who are tired of seeing some of the same pictures....I never get tired of posting themView attachment 96904View attachment 96905 View attachment 96906View attachment 96908
This makes me SO sad! Thank you for letting us know. What a great picture of him! I'm sure it would make his family very happy to have him remembered that way.Good Morning!

Sorry I've been M.I.A...No real trips planned just a bunch of fantasy trips..I do have some friends going in 2 weeks, think they're staying at WL
I hate to be the bearer of bad/sad news but I just saw on FB that Christian has lost his battle with cancer earlier today .......
For those who don't Christian was one the long time piano player in the lobby at the Grand. He was also the harpists at Victoria & Alberts

I didn't know that about the pictures. Last year we had just Alice but I'm hoping this year we get to see the Mad Hatter and Alice. Thanks for pointing this out.
These are neat pictures - can you buy them in the gift shop?
Hi everyone and Happy Saturday to you too Blue!
Those are our two favorite resorts, and both are kid friendly. The theme park view is amazing and your little ones can watch the fireworks from your room if they are tired. We stayed at the poly in March club level and we loved it, your children will also be able to watch the fireworks from the club level, and there is a TV there for them to watch. I would say either one would work for you as a family, just get to the club level early if you want to watch the fireworks, my daughter and I ordered from Ohana that night and had it brought up to cub level, it was fantastic!
I had no idea 'Ohana would do that! That's great to know!
Unless this has changed..at the GF you can order from the Narcoosees menu thru private dining....
Good to know! My girls are never up in time for breakfast, and dinner (in my experience) is not good there. Brunch could be a nice alternative since it should be hard to mess up an omelet or Belgian waffle~ Almost forgot to add...on a food note..cause we know that's what it is always about ...lol...I read that Chef Mickeys will now be open for brunch from 11:30 to 2:30 daily..beginning on May 31st....

Hi everyone
I love looking at these pictures so you can never post them too much IMO! It just makes me anxious hoping we get a turret room (fingers crossed 4021) and not the 2nd floor king deluxe room!! Hopefully we'll get some Disney Magic !!!
We stayed at the poly in March club level and we loved it
They really should make the turret rooms a bookable category! I guess we'd have to pay even more because the group of turret rooms we want would then be classified as TPV Deluxe King Turret room, I'm guessing...but at least we wouldn't have to stress about where they might put us!

What sad news. RIP Christian. This makes me SO sad! Thank you for letting us know. What a great picture of him! I'm sure it would make his family very happy to have him remembered that way.
Thanks for the pics, what a great room!! Post away and don't worry about posting too many, I for one never get tired of seeing GF pics .
Right back 'atcha .
Sending pixie dust that you'll get just the room you want . Keep in mind that if you don't get what you want, you can always ask if a different room is available. It's not guaranteed, but it never hurts to ask .
This is good to hear as we love the Poly and although we've never tried CL there, it is on our list to try .
It wouldn't surprise me if these were eventually added as a bookable category with all the changes Disney has made to other resort rooms. It seems like once a certain kind of room becomes popular with people requesting it since they can't book it specifically, Disney decides to put it into its own category. Like you said, it would cost more, but at least it would take away the stress of hoping you'd get it by request .
I hope you get your request, but I agree that you will love any room you are assigned as RPC is just amazing no matter what room you're in .
Good to "see" you ahcupcake
Thanks for posting about Christian, how sad . I didn't know him, but I have seen him mentioned a lot here. I'm sure he will be missed a lot.
Thanks for this info Blue .
Thanks mickeynut!
And that's a good reminder about asking for a different room. Honestly, I think I'd prefer a standard king CL room over the second floor deluxe king just because of what I've read about its location...but maybe not!?!
I'm sure at the end of the day I'll be happy no matter what as long as we have a king bed!

I feel the same way about the second floor! Supposedly, there are some people that like it, but I read a bad review years ago from someone who talked about what a pain it was to take an elevator to the third floor just to catch the other elevator back down to the second floor of the atrium/lobby to get to the monorail. I have been scared of the second floor since then. People pay for the main building for its convenient location, and that doesn't sound very convenient to me!
I sure never get tired of looking at them!
Good Morning!

So strange I had the urge yesterday to check his Facebook page to see how he was doing and forgot to. Just finished reading on there a few minutes ago, and am so sad to learn this. My sister and I were happy to hear him play last month and tho he looked as if he didn't have the strength to, he plodded on, smiling as he did. I even got to request of him my "favorite" that he plays each time for me....the them from Beauty and the Beast.
He will be missed.
You are very welcome! I am a detail kinda girl...one of the things that makes me love WDW..all of the attention paid to detail ....actually...it took a few stays before I realized that there were a few different pictures...lol...
Hey there loveshak! Have not seen the pictures for sale...but would happily buy one if they are...
Noticed that you are new to the boards..so ...and thanks for sharing that 'Ohana info!
Unless this has changed..at the GF you can order from the Narcoosees menu thru private dining....
BTW...loving your grand pics ..Never tire of seeing them! Its the next best thing to being there!! Thanks for sharing!!
ahcupcake Thank you for sharing that info about Christian....and the wonderful picuture too... Such sad news..on our last trip I did spend some time talking to him....told him how happy we were to see him back at the GF playing his beautiful music again... He and his music will be missed my many....
grannyminnie Hope that all is well..miss you around here!

Hope that all of my fellow GF fans are having a wonderful weekend!
that is so sad! i have his cd and listen to his music all the time. what a beautiful picture of him. he will be dearly missed.
I did not know that either! But I guess I never would have looked into that since I enjoy the atmosphere of Narcoossee's with its location on the water and piping in Wishes! Now if GF would start piping in Wishes to the third floor balcony of the main building and the courtyard pool, I might consider doing the private dining...if I were in one of the king turret rooms with the MK view! We have watched Wishes from there before with the windows open, and it's nice, but you can only hear the explosions of the fireworks it's just not the same without the music!
Thanks mickeynut!

Please, Please keep posting pics!! I'll be at the GF in less than 3 weeks and I am SO excited. My Disney BFF is coming in from Chicago and we're not going to any of the 4 parks while we're at the GF; we're just going to relax, shop, do the Pirates cruise, a day at Typhoon Lagoon with rented chaise lounges, dinner at Narcoossee's, Artist Point and 1900 Park Fare and a breakfast at my favorite Boma. Because it IS all about the food.
We were concerned that we would run out of things to do but now I'm wondering if we'll have time to do everything!
Hi Everyone,
I am 44 days away and in full planning/freaking out mode. If i call today and make certain requests, do I also have to call in or write in the 4-3 days before just curious. I switched to Club Level/Outer Building today and now I am second guessing my decision. The difference in price was too good to pass up. Anywho, any and all comments are welcomed. THANKS EVERYONE
Hi Blue...I check in every now and then....just read the sad news ahcupcake posted about Christian's passing. I am very sad, and we will miss him in the GF lobby. Others will too, I know.
My hubby and I just returned a few days ago from a trip to Jackson, Wy. Now, if you want to see a beautiful part of the country (and can bear NOT to see anything Disney related), then go here~
