Taking a break from some of the parks until new attractions?

Never. Going in September after a two year break and hitting all the parks and we can't wait. I'm also looking forward to Avatarland, but won't skip next year just because it isn't open yet. We really try to go every year if we can afford it. Life's too short to keep waiting for something new to come along. We always have an amazing time when we go...even at DHS.

Now Universal..that's a different story. I would normally skip it because I hate it and have no interest in going back until Kong/Skull Island opens.
But this trip we are doing 1 day with a 2-park pass because my 24 year old daughter is a Potter fanatic. If it wasn't for her joining us this trip I wouldn't go and have no desire to. But Kong...that I am looking forward to.

Kong looks awesome.

We went in late 2014, and SDMT was new for us.

Not going back until March 2016 and we're hoping there will be *something* new. Hard to know exactly what ....

We're pretty down on DHS and never found much use for AK, but we plan on trying AK in 2016. Again, hoping there will be something new ....

It's not just new "rides" we're interested in ... anything new: exhibits, shows, restaurants. It's all part of Disney for us.

Anything new would be good. For example I think the FoF parade is a great addition. Would love a new parade in the other three parks.

New shows would be good too, especially at DHS which is so show-heavy. There are only so many times you can go see some of those shows.

Just to be clear- I'm not at all convinced it's true- but Illuminations has been around a long time. It wouldn't surprise me and since I've been caught off guard before **cough** NFL**cough** , and not gotten to have an official last look at something I loved, I'm a little gun shy.;)

Our next family trip isnt tentatively scheduled until 2017 at the soonest, after AK is finished. If a major HS plan is underway could be a few years more yet. If that happens, DLR would be the replacement, or a Florida trip with US and MAYBE a MK day or 2 only.

We will be there in August and we have plans to do all four parks and MK twice while we're there. While one or two of the parks maybe half day parks we still plan to visit and just take our time, see and do what we want while we're there and just leave - maybe go to DTD or head over to Chip and Dale for the sing along one evening after doing DAK. Next year I'm doing just a short trip with just my youngest daughter for about 4nights and only plan to do MK twice and the other days just relax around our resort and take in some other sights while there. That will be her present for both her birthday and graduation from 5th grade both events happen in June. I plan to take my eldest daughter to London for two weeks for her high school graduation present next year as well so that's why our Disney trip will be shorter and why we'll be skipping other parks.

We aren't intentionally skipping any parks due to construction and change. This year will most likely be a California parks trip, simply because we have friends planning to go there in December. If that wasn't already in the works, then we would be back in Florida in no time! :)

Just wondering if other folks are planning not to visit one or more of the WDW parks until they get an overhaul or the projects that are coming are done.

We have an upcoming trip in August and we are splitting it between the two Universal parks and Magic Kingdom.

We are going to take a break from DAK to wait for Avatarland and the new light show at AK.

For DHS, we will probably put that on pause for a while too I think. I wish they would at least put a new show in there (like switch out BaTB).

We will probably head back to Epcot in 2016 for the Frozen ride to see that.

Anyone else have specific parks on hold for now?

Last year, I after going to HS and Epcot, I was not even going to think about going back to WDW for at least a couple years until new attractions are opened, especially in HS. To me, that's the most disappointing park. So many closed attractions. I was even contemplating going to DL instead of WDW, since I've never been to DL. But recently, because of stuff I won't get into, I've been going through Disney withdrawal. I decided that if I booked a trip in November, that would allow me to see and do things I've not gotten to do yet, so it would let me experience favorites, and keep it exciting and interesting with some new things. If it wasn't for being able to experience some new things, I probably wouldn't be going again. Going to make my mind up for sure tomorrow, I think.

We will not be returning until 2018....unless they get some really great Star Wars attractions built before then (unlikely). We will wait for Pandora and for the hype to die down for it.

We planned to take this year off of Disney to let them get some of the construction done. We will return in Sept/Oct 2016, which will have been almost 2 years since our December 2014 trip. The amount of construction last time was just mind boggling and made it hard to enjoy the beauty of the parks.

If we didn't have the park hoppers as part of our free dining package we were just going to go to Magic Kingdom for two days. We came to the decision that the other three parks just don't have enough attractions to justify the price. Even though we have the park hoppers we aren't planning on spending much time at those parks, just hit the major rides, and a couple of restaurants, then leave. The majority of our park time at Disney we still plan to spend at Magic Kingdom.

We wouldn't skip any of the parks for several reasons. I don't actively dislike any of the park attractions that I can think of; I may not LOVE some of them, but I'd rather be at WDW than doing most other things. I would hate to travel so far and skip any of the parks. (Note that we always get park hoppers, so we aren't ever married to spending an entire day at any one park.)

My immediate family and I had been going to WDW approximately yearly up until a couple years ago (we've skipped a couple years because we had so much going on - new baby, moving across country...). So besides never having been able to do "everything" there is available to do on WDW property (or even just in the parks), several things are new since we were last at WDW (notably BOG, 7DMT, and A&E). There are several other things that we've never gotten around to (such as Jedi Training Academy), or that we've only done or seen once (Animation Academy, Flights of Wonder, LMA, Indiana Jones, TSMM,...). There are also many more things outside the parks that we've never done (Typhoon Lagoon, mini golf, either of the dinner shows,...).

My parents and brother are also coming along this time (they've each only been to WDW twice, most recently about 6 years ago). There are many rides and attractions that my parents and brother have never experienced. (DB has never been in the Enchanted Tiki Room; hasn't ridden Dumbo since he was a small child; I don't think he's ever been to Tom Sawyer Island; never seen Lights, Motors, Action; never seen any of the shows (FOTLK, Nemo, BatB); I don't think he's ever even seen Fantasmic!) We're looking forward to introducing my parents and brother to some of these new-to-them ride and attractions.

Especially for those of us with small children, each trip is different because the kids are physically and mentally able to do more and more each trip. DD is petite for her age, and she is finally tall enough to ride most of the 'thrill' rides at WDW (this will also be DS's first ever trip to WDW). Even if DH and and I have experienced something a hundred times, each time we ride or see something with one of our kids for the first time, seeing it through their eyes makes it like a whole new experience.

Your going to tell me what I should and shouldn't expect from Disney? and my attitude? That's my whole problem I haven't approached my vacations the right way. Keep your thoughts about others to yourself!

WOW!!!!
Hostile and offensive - to say the least!!!!
I did not, will not, and care not to tell you what to expect from Disney. I couldn't give one hoot about your attitude.
I couldn't care less about how you approach your vacations. Grow up and see beyond yourself.
I was speaking of my view and my expectations and I am happy

We may go this December again (last there in 2013). If there's nothing new, it just means more time to do the stuff we love, try some new things (we did Wild Africa Trek last time), and some relaxing time at the resort. I don't have to have new things every time we go. I'm just happy to be there and spend time with my sweetie (that's DH, not Mickey).

This past March, I had only scheduled several days at Universal and a day each at MK and AK. I like anything to with animals so I continue to enjoy AK. DS talked me into adding Epcot but I could have easily skipped it. DHS was never even a consideration.
