OMG! I love this!!! Got any extras? Lol
Where did you find the Minnie and Mickey fabric? And what kind of material is it?
It's from eBay...4-way spandex. Here's the link to the seller:

I do think we have extra, but my BFF said they didn't send it to her, so my guess is that it's coming to me since I sent it to them in the first place...and my skirts apparently aren't ready yet. I guess 1 yard is enough to make a skirt and the seller sells it in 2-yard increments, and I bought 2 of them for some reason.
I've seen skirts with other Mickey & Minnie fabric, Disney Princesses (Sleeping Beauty, Snow and Cinderella, I think) and I just saw one with Anna and Elsa. So the fabric is out there, just hard to find, I think.
Thanks!! I can't wait to get mine!
I had no idea you could send them your own fabric!! Did it cost much more? This is intriguing to me. Please give me details. Does it have to be certain fabric??
It does cost more - it depends on how you do it...2 scenarios:
1. I find fabric on my own, order it and send it to SSHQ. To make a swing costs $80 that way. In this scenario I've also paid for the fabric.
2. I find fabric on my own and ask SSHQ to order it themselves and have it sent to them. To make a swing costs $90 this way --> depending on the cost of the fabric, this can be a little bit better of a deal.
So you can see that there is a little bit of a mark-up, since regular stock skirts are $65-$70 or whatever. But you get to pick pretty much everything...for example, we could have gotten the waistband in the same Mickey & Minnie fabric, could have gotten pink shorts instead of polka dots, or turquoise, or whatever. Vented slims are $5 more, as are hikers, I think...and larger sizes.
They said it would take 20 weeks to make the skirts and like I said, my BFF just got hers. We sent in the fabric in early February and paid for the skirts on February 26 (you pay ahead of time), so clearly that 20 week estimate was a HUGE overestimation. Which is fine!
More info here...I could see this becoming dangerously addicting!

Ugh. I'm going to write a full breakdown about it on my training journal - but does anyone know if rD uses your official time to calculate or your official pace?
The USATF certified race I ran this morning ended up being actually 6.75 miles. They were kind enough to tell us this at the finish and that out official pace would be adjusted to reflect the course, but they can't do anything about time.
It doesn't really matter to me (even though I PR'd significantly), but I feel really bad for my girlfriend who was running this race for her DLH PoT and PR'd in a time at 6.2 that would easily jump her a corral, but not at 6.75 if they just go on time.
UGH. I mean, it's common to finish a race going over the distance, due to taking wide turns and stuff...but that is crazy! I'm sorry that happened to you guys. Especially on a "certified" course.
As others have said, it's the net time they use.
Anyone have some advise on back to back races the 10k & the half. I am doing the Pixie Dust next weekend. Have never done 2 races like this. Just wondering if anyone has any words of wisdom. Hope I survive !
Adding on to the great advice you've already gotten - don't sweat it!! I personally believe that if a person is well-trained for a half, they can complete these 10K/half challenges with no problems, given that you follow the above advice. So just have tons of fun! You're ready!!
