Can do online checkin on Monday. We already have a wood view room, what options will there be?

The choices aren't specific to your booking. They're limited and may not even apply to your booking. It's always better to add any requests directly to your reservation by calling. For a Woods View room, many prefer the North Wing and a high floor. Floors 5 and below do not have solid balcony railings so you don't have to stand up to see over them.

As great as this stay has been, we have reached our last day. Luckily, my fiancé and I have a late checkout with our flight being tonight. Always very upsetting to leave (and go back to work) but I guess I will start planning our Christmas 2016 trip (575 days away - yikes too far).

Currently targeting a few days at the Lodge (no better place during Christmas season) split with the GF RPC (our favorite) or SL depending on discounts. I'll be back myself for a few days in August with family staying at the GF SL - unfort I don't think the bounceback will be out for 2016 yet. Oh well!

I guess there's plenty of time to waiver on the resorts.

Last days are so sad:worried:, but looking forward to another trip will keep you going:)

Unfortunately, I called Monday to try to get the room discount, and was told there was pretty much zero availability for anything except bunk bed rooms. :( We went ahead and switched over to a king room at CBR (where all the rest of the family is staying) but I've been checking online every day to see if anything has opened back up. Nothing so far, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed. We're planning on upgrading to AP (we just live in GA, and DH works for an airline, so travel is a non-issue) so, worst case scenario, maybe we can book a bounceback for either Nov/Dec to see all the Christmas decor, or late January to celebrate DH's birthday.

Don't give up looking, but it will be nice having the king bed and being where everyone else in your party is staying.

We are checking in tomorrow or I would take you up on it for sure! So happy the splash pad is up and running, phew! Leaving in a few hours for the airport spending the first night at AOA then 6 nights at WL, can't wait:yay:

Just a thought, but couldn't they hold the water and other stuff for you? People ship things to their resorts all the time. I would think as long as you tell them who the items are for and when they'll pick them up it wouldn't be a problem. Such a shame to let it all go to waste!

I'm sure if you asked them to hold it for a specific party and date, they would, especially since it's only till tomorrow.

Thanks kook

You're welcome.

Thanks Kook!! You're the best

Awww, shucks, thank you.

Thanks everyone.

The scaffolding looks terrible. I think for me it would be worth the price over POR if there was no scaffolding. But to be paying that much for it to look like that, I would probably be happier at POR.

@GrandCalifornian and his family usually stay at WL, but they stayed at POR last summer and loved it. He has a link to his fabulous POR TR in his signature block. He posts frequently to this thread:)

Love this thread. Such awesome information. Just booked for our (DH, DS10 and DD10) first visit to WL, Nov. 17-22! Fingers crossed the Christmas decorations will be up.

Help friends! Here now and have Crystal Palace at 8:10 am...what time will the first boat leave for MK? I thought it was early enough to get to my ADR but now am being told it will be just 30 mins before the park opens. Ironically wdw called me before we left home to tell me to take the boat to breakfast because of the early morning work being done on the monorail and now the front desk is saying I have to take the bus...

Don't take the boat. Take the bus. It doesn't stop anywhere else and should leave about 7:30 or so.

That's what I would do or you can take the Blue Flag Boat starting around 6:50 over to CR and then walk to MK, but the early ADR bus is fastest and easiest.

I am so excited about our stay here. Are the rooms that have the scaffolding up in use? What should I request to avoid having scaffolding outside my balcony? Or does the scaffolding not obstruct the view?

No guests are in any of the rooms behind the scaffolding. I'm not sure though how close to the scaffolding, but not behind it, some guests are, but I would assume there's a pretty good buffer. Since there isn't a known schedule of exactly where the scaffolding will be and when, I suppose you could add "away from scaffolding" to your reservation.

I am very excited - I just booked our first WL stay and its club level :) I am enjoying all the info and pix on this thread. Looking forward to seeing and learning more until our vacation.

:)

So.... my husband just asked if an upgrade to club level is worth it and I honestly don't know! What do you guys think? It's a holiday of a lifetime for us (honeymoon was there in 2000)

I say yes but I love club level and always stay that way. The OFC staff is excellent and it adds the ambiance and relaxation you would look for during a "holiday of a lifetime".

Overlooking the lobby from the 7th floor while enjoying a glass of wine, coffee, etc is very nice for us. After all the discounts I usually calculate about $100 extra a night for club level and while we may not hit that exact dollar benefit monetarily, after all the breakfast, snacks, dinner, cobbler, wine, expresso, and cheese we certainly come close enough. Then the piece of mind of being able to grab a water or snack whenever we want, and the added relaxation, really makes these trips incredible.

I am a happy camper this morning. I discovered if I add a day to my existing reservation, I can move the second half of our WL split stay back to the same view as the first half, at least giving me a much better chance of not having to change rooms. A bonus is that the courtyard view is less expensive than the bunk/woods view room we have. I wanted courtyard to start with- so the extra day is costing very little!

And when can it ever be wrong to stay just one more day! :)

Hi
We are booked Dec 15-21 in a deluxe room cl. We would like to see the water pageant from the balcony. Any suggestions on room requests?
TY

Ok thanks! I've gotten nothing done today lol. Silly question..hubby is afraid of heights but says he's ok with the 7th floor. How "steep" is the view from the lounge area to the lobby ? Please don't laugh :) last time we had 2nd floor.

Sitting by the rail makes me a bit nervous too so I like to sit by the window

Won't be long until my family and I will be sitting by those windows!! Our Magic Bands should be here tomorrow and most of our packing is done. Now just the hard part of waiting is left to be done. Can't wait to get to the Lodge!! :thumbsup2
