This will be the first time buying AP's. And this will be our first trip with the new FastPass+ system. My question is when you buy the AP's online or by phone through DVC, will you get a ticket number to link it to your Magic Band so we can make FastPass+ reservations at the 60 day mark?

Online it should automatically link the AP to your account, over the phone you should get a number that you can use to link it to your account if it isn't automatic.

So I can buy the AP with DVC discount right on My Disney Experience Account? Great!

Yes, when you go to the purchase page it should give you the member price automatically.

As long as your MDE profile has the DVC affiliation (which means your MDE & DVC accounts are linked) you will see member pricing.

But....I bought 4 vouchers online and now I have a bunch listed in my MDE and can't figure out which one is which since the numbers don't match. they aren't all for me, so I need to get them linked to the right person.
I was told I had to call IT.

Great! Another new thing to worry about. This trip is getting to be a huge hassle. Whatever happened to a relaxed trip to WDW? I used to make ADR's 180 days out with no issues and then make flexible plans for our parks days. Now I can't even get Ohana at the 180 +10 day for any night we are there. Oh, but first I have to open an account online and link all my friends in so I can make ADR's for our party. And now I have to know which park I am going to be in at any minute of the day and buy my tickets months out, if I want to get a FastPass. Forget riding Test Track and Soaring on the same day. And if I buy two AP I have to worry about getting the right one assigned to the right person? This trip better be great or there are going to be some more points up for resell. Doubt Disney cares!

Sorry for the rant. Back to your regularly scheduled program...

You don't have to specify who's going to for the ADR... i know, it took me till this year to realized it! You can just ignore it and move on. As long as you have the headcount right, you're ok. Sorry about Ohana...we had a hard time with that one too!

As for AP - doesn't really matter because you have to go to Guest Relations to activate them.

When I've tried 180 + 10, I've found they release more times at 180 days. Keep trying. Ohana should not sellout that fast.

I just bought APs for the family, will we get Sliders for our MBs?
Once the APs have been activated, there will be an pending MagicBand order in your MDE account. If you customize them, the packaging will contain AP Discount Cards and AP MagicSliders.

The DVC MagicSliders are included with MagicBands ordered for DVC Resort Reservations.

Yes, that's what happened last time I bought a new AP. The CM on the phone gave me a number. I was afraid that it would activate as soon as I used it to make my FP+ selections, even though she'd promised it wouldn't activate until I entered a park for the first time. Fortunately she was correct!

I have been trying daily for over a month and still no luck. Only opening was one at 9:30. Sorry, we have 4 kids in our party so that won't work. I will keep trying. But it has been awful trying to get anything good at a decent hour. We even had to take Mama Melrose at 5:30 pm. We normally don't eat that early. But we wanted to eat at HS that night. And it was the only place open between 5 and 9 that night. 50's and SciFi had nothing open. I hate this free dining thing for September. Wish I had know before borrowing points for the trip and booking flights. Planning early......d$$med if you do and d$$md if you don't.

Ok, another silly question. How do you get your AP at Guest Services? Does it just link to your MB like all the other tickets? I've only use Guest Services in the parks, is there one at each resort? Guess there would have to be. How would you get into the park without a ticket?

If we are going on another trip down the road, do we use the same MB? Will our room key and charging again be linked to it?

Yikes! You would never guess that we have been DVC Members since 1997!

There is not a guest services at each resort. I used the one outside of Epcot by the world showcase, so I went there before entering the park. They asked to see our DVC card and drivers license to activate our AP's. It automatically linked to our MB's didn't have to do anything else. Yes, you can use the same MB if you want to. However, they will send you a new one for every resort stay booked. You can also get one for having an AP too.

Hi Eva. Its hard to believe its been so many years since we met at a Disney Meet. Careful with the Annual pass. They cause you to add points. :).

We get ours pass at the gate of the first park we go to. The day you go to guest services is the day they begin so if your not going to the park that day you will want to wait till next morning.

Have fun.

I really do not like the fact that you can not do Soaren and Test Track on the same day for Fast Passes. There is not much at Epcot for young children and having to use 2 days of reserving fastpasses at Epcot is not good for a lot of familys. I find it a hassle to add a forth fastpass after using the first 3. If they would let us use our phones it would not be so annoying.

I've read about bringing a "voucher" or "certificate" after purchasing the AP's on the phone. Is this now obsolete with MDE? I have the tickets loaded into MDE and have made FP's, etc but never received anything in the Mail for the APs. I just have a confirmation number and them linked. Will we just need our drivers licenses at a guest relations office when we arrive to have the park passes activated?

The Exchange Certificates (aka Vouchers) and Will Call Confirmations for NEW APS are not valid for park admission. For new APs, you still have to stop at either a park ticket window or guest relations location to exchange for the actual pass. If purchase at the DVC Member price, you will need your DVC Membership Card. All adults (ages 18+) will need to show a photo id that has the same address as the member.
