A Celebration Trip Full of Surprises - May 2015 PTR (New 9/15 - New TR Link!)

Wow, that is a LOT of ADRs! They all sound great, though! ::yes:: I've been dying to try Beaches and Cream and also Le Cellier, I'd say those are at the top of my list for the future. I absolutely adore Sci-Fi! I'll be eating there for the third time this trip and I will try to go back each trip, I love the atmosphere that much. :thumbsup2

When my dad saw me awake at 5 a.m. he asked, “Disney?”

:rotfl:

Nice ADRs! Whispering Canyon is a favorite of ours so I really hope you get to keep that one! Artist's Point looks amazing. Thats totally on my bucket list! I just love Wilderness Lodge in general. Being from the Northwest, I thought it would be kind of borring. Like, been there, done that but oh how wrong I was! It is an amazing resort. Somehow they make it seem cozy and majestic all at the same time!

In case you haven’t met us before on my prior (finally finished!) trip report, A Savanna, A Wizard, and Oodles of Food, we’ll start with the ever-important cast for the upcoming trip
Hi! Just noticed your PTR link in your sig and thought I'd check it out. I'm horrible at catching up on TR's so I'll just jump in here. I might have to go back and check out that plane story from 2012 though that you mentioned.

Four resorts! :faint:

Six parks!

Two water parks! :fish:

Our first Disney tour! :cloud9:

Far, far too many ADRs! :rotfl:
Epic trip! Wow. This will be a lot of fun!!!

*Does the Muppet Vision 3-D pre-show count as an attraction? :upsidedow
Ok, that explains the avatar. :rotfl:

So there we go! After all of that craziness and many considerations, we have our final vacation dates:

Saturday, May 23 – Monday, June 8, 2015
Wow. Just wow. The longest we've ever stayed is 6 or 7 nights. I would so love to do a long trip like this and actually have the time to take those resort days to just kick back and relax.

I promise that it totally makes sense once you see our trip as a whole. ::yes:: At least it makes sense to me. I may also be crazy. :rotfl:
You might be. But I'll withhold judgment until we see how the trip actually goes.

I initially booked Pop for our 2013 trip, but changed it over to the Coronado Springs Resort. I’m very excited to explore everything the resort has to offer and view.
I love Pop! I think that's a great choice for your arrival night.

Would you believe it, even though we were less than 140 days out we got every reservation we wanted (including great times for our pre-park opening breakfasts!). I’m sure the fact that we were a duo helped, but it shows that you can book great reservations past the six month mark! :goodvibes
I'm really impressed with what you were able to get! I guess that getting ADR's for just 2 probably helped, but you really did well!

I said (very disappointed and apologetically, I’m sure) that adding Universal tickets would just be too expensive, it would be tough to tour Universal in the summer crowds without the Express passes we bought last time, the Express passes themselves would be CRAZY expensive for a May vacation, etc. It would be much easier and less expensive to stay at Disney and find other interesting things to do.

Excuses. Many, many excuses.

:sad2:

And lies. So many lies.

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Little did she know, I’d already booked us here:
That. Is. Awesome!!!!!!!!

Ok, you've got some great surprises planned. Your sister is lucky. This really does look like it will be an epic trip and a lot of fun!

I’m hoping to see things multiple times due to our early entry privileges and those snazzy Express Passess! We were pretty burned out by the time we got to our Universal day in 2012, so it will be nice to visit fresh and ready to go at the beginning of our vacation.
::yes:: This is how it usually works when we do Universal too. Either at the end of the trip or a day in the middle. But always a rushed day trying to get through things and we just burn out fast. I think starting off there and spending a night or 2 on property is a great way to do it.

(Yes, both of them are well aware of the fact that we ARE going to Universal.)

:rotfl2:

It may be a little cruel, but I’m looking forward to seeing her totally flip out when she realizes she DOES get to see Diagon Alley!
Very cruel! But I'm sure she'll get over it. :thumbsup2

Don’t be fooled by the resort maps – this resort is HUGE!
::yes::

I wasn’t thrilled by the food options here. I loved Café Rix, but I absolutely hated the food court.
::yes::

We stayed there in Dec 2012. It is a beautiful resort, but yes, huge!!! We were located in Cabanas, right next to the Dig Site... but it also happened to be Pop Warner week and the Dig Site was crowded and loud... and well, our CSR time just wasn't much fun. :sad2:

It did make me feel bad for new travelers as I knew what and when to book as I already know how we explore each park. I think the process would be far more challenging for someone that doesn’t visit Disney often/has never visited/only has a few days to visit.
You're right! It is a nightmare to understand/explain to anyone who doesn't already have some basic understanding of it. Even if you are an experienced Disney traveler. If you haven't gone since FP+ started or don't follow boards like this one, you're probably going to go cross eyed trying to figure it all out.

First, I will be venturing onto the monorail early in the morning in order to see the Magic Kingdom welcome show! We’ve missed it every trip due to early ADRs or just-missed arrivals , so I want to take advantage of our close proximity and finally cross this one off the “must-do” list. Anika is welcome to join me or she is welcome to sleep in.
Great plan!

After dinner, I may walk over to the Polynesian to watch Wishes from the Poly beach. I’d also love to spot the Electric Water Pageant.
Another great idea! Way to take full advantage of the location!

Anika will drift off to sleep on our second night at the resort… and wake up on her birthday. Wake up at Disney World. At her favorite Disney resort.

:bday:

I hope it will be magical.
What a great birthday present. I mean GF, isn't my cup of tea... but for her, just perfect!

So, I called Orbitz again. That led to a three way call between me, the Orbitz gal, and the representative from Riverside. After tons of back and forth and my insistence that I’m happy to pay the extra adult charge for two nights but refuse to pay for ten... the Disney representative finally modified the reservation so Anika appears as a child and Wade is added for the entire period (without the charge). I’m sure the Disney guy could see my MDE account and could note Anika is listed as an adult :rolleyes1, but I’m pretty sure he just wanted to get the crazy lady he was speaking with off the phone.  I don’t think the Orbitz lady knew what on earth was going on during the entire phone call.
Wow. Frustrating, but I'm glad that they were able to help you out.

Now, the important question… would I use these third party services again?
Thanks for the review of the services and your experience. I hadn't heard about the discounts through Orbitz. I'm always a little bit leery of using those online travel services and typically prefer to deal with a TA who I can hold personally accountable, but I'd probably consider booking through them for savings like that!

Via Napoli! This was one of our favorite restaurants from our last trip and was a great first ADR! It wouldn't have seemed right to kickoff our vacation at any other place! We checked in and were seated just a few minutes. Rather than the main dining room, they seated us in this very neat side section:

I didn’t even realize this section existed the last time we ate here! I know it’s challenging to request an area to sit at a Disney restaurant, but I would love to eat in here again!
::yes:: I like it better there than in the main dining room. It seems a little more quiet and laid back.

You can’t eat at Via Napoli and not order a wood fired pizza! We ordered an individual signature Pepperoni Pizza:
This is making me hungry. That looks amazing!

I adore dining in Disney. :lovestruc
::yes::

Whew! That’s 27 ADRs within 17 days! :faint:

Anika knows about some of these choices (her six must-dos, Hoop Dee Doo, Boma, Be Our Guest, Garden View Tea, and the pre-park opening breakfasts), but the others will be a surprise. Other than Hoop, she has no idea what order we'll be visiting them.
Wow... With all the restaurants and all the planning, I'm just impressed that you can keep it all a secret. I'd be losing track of which ADR's she does or doesn't know about and letting them slip.

Funnily enough, two of my booking windows opened when I was home for Thanksgiving. My mom was up when I booked the Grand Floridian portion, and both of my parents were up when I booked the Riverside portion. When my dad saw me awake at 5 a.m. he asked, “Disney?”
:rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:

Haha, the more I think about it "New Fantasyland" was just not a good choice for a title.

Traditions are such an important part of a Disney vacation I think. MK is for sure my fav park, but Epcot is pretty special too. And when you have that tradition, you just have to keep it going. What a lovely first day.

I am just in awe of this upcoming trip Jenny. I'm a planner. But honestly, while I'm actually quite fine with FP+, I still find it a little bit of a nusance to pre-book. 27 ADR's??? :worship: Just ain't no way.

I think the process would be far more challenging for someone that doesn’t visit Disney often/has never visited/only has a few days to visit. :scared:

Yaay for getting all of the fastpasses you wanted! But I agree with this. I love Disney planning and find it quite fun, but I can imagine all this advanced planning must be a nightmare for people who aren't fully clued up on everything related to WDW. Like, imagine how many people will have gone to Disney over spring break without even realising that you can book fastpasses in advance?! :scared:

The minute I’d stretched our vacation past one week, I knew I wanted to give Anika the chance to stay at her Grand Floridian. This was going to be a “once in a lifetime” experience (at least, once in my lifetime that would I be picking up the cost!). Once the vacation dates were settled, I decided to book us for two nights at Anika’s dream resort. :cloud9:

You are officially the best sister EVER. I wish I'd had an older sister who did this stuff for me! Anika will be over the moon!!

Although I think the resort itself is beautiful, I was never a big fan of the way the rooms were decorated. However, the refurbished rooms are actually much more my speed:

Totally agree! The room refurb was a BIG change, but it works so well, I love it.

I haven't completely worked out the reveal for this surprise, but I think the most fun thing would be to drive through the Magic Kingdom gates and inform them we're checking in to our resort. Anika knows this trip will involve a stay at a deluxe resort, and this entrance is how to get to three other good contenders (the Poly, the Contemporary, and the Wilderness Lodge). We'll turn left, pass the Poly... and then it will dawn on her that we're driving straight to the Grand Floridian.

You totally need to figure out if you can fix up some hidden cameras in the car or something.. I would LOVE to see her reaction on video!!! :lmao:

First, I will be venturing onto the monorail early in the morning in order to see the Magic Kingdom welcome show!

YESSS! My favourite :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

Anika will drift off to sleep on our second night at the resort… and wake up on her birthday. Wake up at Disney World. At her favorite Disney resort.

:bday:

I hope it will be magical.

It will be sooooo magical. Seriously girl, you are SO lovely and thoughtful! :lovestruc This trip is going to be amazing.

That’s when I started searching these boards and found out about the Orbitz/Cheap Tickets discounts on Disney resorts. I plugged in my resorts and dates , and sure enough – I was able to book all three resorts with the Disney spring discount AND an additional 15% off! Win! :thumbsup2

party:

When I called Disney, they said they were unable to reach those screens and I would need to have Orbitz contact them on my behalf.

Ugh, been there, done that, my friend! :rotfl:

154_zpsqn03vxyu.jpg
155_zpsylo2grlj.jpg

OMG  I need this in my life.

Crystal Palace is one of my favorite pre-park opening breakfasts, so that was a no-brainer.

Me too! We did it in 2012, 2014, and have it booked for this year too! It's so great that the photopass photographers are out on Main Street too, we got some lovely 'empty park shots' before breakfast :goodvibes

Whew! That’s 27 ADRs within 17 days! :faint:

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: That is amazing. SO excited for this trip report!!!!

I am LOVING this! Count me in! :)

:welcome: Ashlee! Thanks for joining in!

:thumbsup2

:rotfl:

Yes, it's a quite a few! I couldn't believe it when I counted them for the post... they really add up! :rotfl:

I'm super excited about FINALLY trying a sundae from Beaches and Cream! I'm also excited to see the Beach Club - I've been to the Yacht Club and seen the outside of the back of both resorts, but I've yet to see the inside of the Beach Club. We should have plenty of time to wander there!

Le Cellier was great when we went in 2013! I can't wait to have another bowl of the cheese soup (yes, it is as good as people say it is!) and am looking forward to ordering a steak. ::yes::

Yes, there's not a whole lot that will get me up early in the morning. Disney? You betcha! :thumbsup2

Thank you!

I hear lots of good things about breakfast at WCC so I hope it works out! I have my eyes on that banana bread French toast! :P

I'm VERY excited to finally try Artist Point! Everyone seems to speak so highly about it that I think our meal should be great! I'm also quite excited to finally see the Wilderness Lodge - I hope to have enough time to wander around for a bit. :-)

Hi! Just noticed your PTR link in your sig and thought I'd check it out. I'm horrible at catching up on TR's so I'll just jump in here. I might have to go back and check out that plane story from 2012 though that you mentioned.

:welcome: Andy! Thanks for coming over and for joining in!

Oh, that woman from the plane... In short, Anika and I were chatting about Disney attractions (Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Peter Pan's Flight, etc.) and were sitting behind this woman's young son (he looked six or seven?). She gets up and comes over, leans next to me, and says, "Will you please stop talking about Disney? This is my son's first trip, and you're ruining it for him!"

Disney fans as we are, we were bubbling with excitement and anticipation, not saying a single negative thing. Why that "ruined" her son's trip is just beyond me. (I'm also pretty sure we weren't the only people traveling to Disney World - the flight was crammed with kids!)

I'm most disappointed that I didn't have a snappy retort for her rudeness. I was so taken aback that I failed to have a comeback. :sad2:

Epic trip! Wow. This will be a lot of fun!!!

It will definitely be epic! We're going to do SO MANY GREAT THINGS!

Ok, that explains the avatar. :rotfl:

Yes. I may slightly like the Muppets. :D (And seriously, it's one of the best pre-shows in Disney World!)

Wow. Just wow. The longest we've ever stayed is 6 or 7 nights. I would so love to do a long trip like this and actually have the time to take those resort days to just kick back and relax.

It's our longest trip by far. Our longest to date was our 2012 trip of 9 days... but that included a late afternoon arrival and a very early morning departure. We never have "down" days at Disney so I'm really looking forward to sitting back and smelling the roses!

You might be. But I'll withhold judgment until we see how the trip actually goes.

Thank you... we'll see how it goes! :P

I love Pop! I think that's a great choice for your arrival night.

I love our first hotel. I'm very excited about finally seeing Pop AND being able to see Art of Animation, too!

I'm really impressed with what you were able to get! I guess that getting ADR's for just 2 probably helped, but you really did well!

I was rather shocked at how many good reservations I was able to nab. Be Our Guest was especially shocking. I know you may have to do a bit of stalking to get some reservations past the 180 day cutoff, but it is most certainly possible! :goodvibes

That. Is. Awesome!!!!!!!!

Ok, you've got some great surprises planned. Your sister is lucky. This really does look like it will be an epic trip and a lot of fun!

Oh my goodness, I'm practically beside myself at the thought of seeing Diagon Alley AND staying at a Universal resort. :woohoo:

::yes:: This is how it usually works when we do Universal too. Either at the end of the trip or a day in the middle. But always a rushed day trying to get through things and we just burn out fast. I think starting off there and spending a night or 2 on property is a great way to do it.

I think it will be a much better experience than last time. We were still impressed with the Wizarding World, but I think this time we may be impressed by the rest of Universal, too. I'm also excited to see both parks at night! (And look forward to a 10-15 walk to each park!) :thumbsup2

Very cruel! But I'm sure she'll get over it. :thumbsup2

Yes, I'm pretty sure she'll live. :rotfl2: I may get a moment of exasperation for it, but it will be worth it for the reaction!

SO. BIG. I know people mention that some of the moderates are large, but you just don't appreciate HOW large until you're there. :faint:

::yes::

We stayed there in Dec 2012. It is a beautiful resort, but yes, huge!!! We were located in Cabanas, right next to the Dig Site... but it also happened to be Pop Warner week and the Dig Site was crowded and loud... and well, our CSR time just wasn't much fun. :sad2:

Yuck, I don't think I would've liked it as much with Pop Warner folks. The pool and main building had a few travelers, but overall the crowds weren't bad at all.

You're right! It is a nightmare to understand/explain to anyone who doesn't already have some basic understanding of it. Even if you are an experienced Disney traveler. If you haven't gone since FP+ started or don't follow boards like this one, you're probably going to go cross eyed trying to figure it all out.

You're so right - quite a nightmare. Planning a Disney vacation intimidates people anyhow - nothing like adding ANOTHER thing that you have to plan and account for!

It almost makes you want to do this: :drinking1

Great plan!

I can't wait to finally see the whole Welcome Show! Live and in in-person (and not on You Tube!).

Another great idea! Way to take full advantage of the location!

I'll see how the fireworks shake out - I've heard reports that they're confirming people on the Poly beach are resort guests (but I've seen other recent posts that say they don't care). The view from GF may be fine, too.

What a great birthday present. I mean GF, isn't my cup of tea... but for her, just perfect!

It's not exactly my cup of tea, either, but it should be perfect for Anika!

Wow. Frustrating, but I'm glad that they were able to help you out.

It was really annoying, but that's what you have to deal with if you use a third party. It's okay - I lived. ;)

Thanks for the review of the services and your experience. I hadn't heard about the discounts through Orbitz. I'm always a little bit leery of using those online travel services and typically prefer to deal with a TA who I can hold personally accountable, but I'd probably consider booking through them for savings like that!

You're welcome!

I didn't realize you could book Disney hotels through third parties, either (until I booked this trip!). I've always booked things myself so I didn't mind not having a travel agent, and it was really pretty easy other than the adding my uncle conundrum. I think adding kids is much easier (but you should still book with two people and then call Orbitz to call Disney to add the kids. Disney recognizes that kids under 18 do not get an extra person charge - Orbitz doesn't.).

::yes:: I like it better there than in the main dining room. It seems a little more quiet and laid back.

I really liked it, too. Far less noisy! :thumbsup2

This is making me hungry. That looks amazing!

Looking at VN pizza always makes me hungry! :rotfl: SO GOOD!

I never quite understand folks that "hate" Disney dining (and there are a few of them on the dining boards :sad2:). There are so many places I'd love to try, but others that I can't keep myself from going back to!

Wow... With all the restaurants and all the planning, I'm just impressed that you can keep it all a secret. I'd be losing track of which ADR's she does or doesn't know about and letting them slip.

Honestly, it's possible that I mentioned another of the restaurants, but that's okay. As long as Universal and the Grand Floridian remain a surprise, I'll be happy! :-)

I am not now, nor will I ever be, a morning person. :rotfl2:

At least my parents know my priorities!

Just how long are they going to refer to it as "New" Fantasyland? It's already three years old!

Magic Kingdom comes close to Epcot for me, and MK is definitely Anika's favorite - yet, it wouldn't seem quite right to have our first park be anything else. MK is usually park #2, though!

Oh, thank you! I agree that the pre-planning required for a Disney vacation is insane. :crazy2: Thank goodness for my OCD! :rotfl2:

(Hey, I'll be impressed when you book one ADR, Rob!) :goodvibes

Yaay for getting all of the fastpasses you wanted! But I agree with this. I love Disney planning and find it quite fun, but I can imagine all this advanced planning must be a nightmare for people who aren't fully clued up on everything related to WDW. Like, imagine how many people will have gone to Disney over spring break without even realising that you can book fastpasses in advance?! :scared:

Thanks - it was much easier than I expected!

I agree that walking into Disney without a plan could lead to a long and miserable day. In fact, I know this can be the case given some extended family members' trips to the World. Yes, going during Christmas without any pre-planning and a late arrival WILL lead to long lines and few rides. :sad2:

You are officially the best sister EVER. I wish I'd had an older sister who did this stuff for me! Anika will be over the moon!!

I am SO excited for Anika to stay there! I think she's going to be beside herself. :goodvibes

Totally agree! The room refurb was a BIG change, but it works so well, I love it.

Me, too! :thumbsup2

You totally need to figure out if you can fix up some hidden cameras in the car or something.. I would LOVE to see her reaction on video!!! :lmao:

That's what makes me hesitate about this plan... I would love to capture her reaction for my parents (and for eternity!). However, I think the driving up to the hotel plan would elicit the biggest reaction.

Decisions, decisions...

YESSS! My favourite :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

I'm SUPER excited about the Welcome Show!

It will be sooooo magical. Seriously girl, you are SO lovely and thoughtful! :lovestruc This trip is going to be amazing.

:D

Despite the annoying aspects, I was pretty excited about the savings. :worship: There wouldn't have been a stay at the GF without them!

Ugh, been there, done that, my friend! :rotfl:

It truly was frustrating. :crazy2:

OMG  I need this in my life.

SO GOOD. :cloud9:

Me too! We did it in 2012, 2014, and have it booked for this year too! It's so great that the photopass photographers are out on Main Street too, we got some lovely 'empty park shots' before breakfast :goodvibes

I worry we'll never get to CRT as I can't imagine having breakfast anywhere but Crystal Palace! I LOVE those pre-park opening shots!

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: That is amazing. SO excited for this trip report!!!!

I'm so excited to eat the food! I'll be sure to get lots of pictures for the trip report!

Well, apparently my alerts aren't alerting me when posts are made. :headache: I was wondering why you, and many others haven't updated their reports in a long while. I'm so excited about all your ADRs! The trip is also approaching very quickly! Anika still has no idea about any of the surprises? I'm going to need make bookmarks for all the trip reports I follow!

Wow, I just ate, but now I am hungry again from reading about all your ADRs! Fabulous choices. You all are going to have such a great time. It is really great to read how close you two are!

Lynn

Shoot! I'm afraid I can't be of any help on the alerts - I don't choose to have them so I don't know how they're supposed to work! I have noticed others complaining about them not being as reliable as they used to be. I just read anything that shows up on my "Watched Threads" list.

I'm super excited about them, too! :yay: It's possible that some of them may shift around a bit, but nearly all of them are definite. I'm especially excited to try the new restaurants!

Anika knows that we're going and our dates, knows we're going to all four (Disney) parks and the two water parks, knows the ADRs that I mentioned, and I also asked for her opinion on a few of the Fastpass+ selections. As far as I know ( :scared: ) she has no idea about Universal, any of our resort choices, a good chunk of the ADRs, and any of our day-to-day plans. I think it's driving her nuts... but it should all be worth it! :thumbsup2

Just 44 more days!

Wow, I just ate, but now I am hungry again from reading about all your ADRs! Fabulous choices. You all are going to have such a great time. It is really great to read how close you two are!

Lynn

I'm sorry! The same thing happens to me every time I look at the dining boards!

Thank you! It was easier than I thought to make my dining decisions - many of the choices involved where to put the reservations, not which ones to make!

I'm also thrilled how close I am to my sister. I know some siblings don't get along well, so I'm so happy to be on the opposite side. :goodvibes

Holy ADRs! You have got quite the impressive array lined up. I noticed Via is right there at the top of the list. That is one of my absolute favorites. I am really looking forward to eating there in August.

Loved all the amazing food pictures. Thanks for making me hungry! :rotfl:

My only defense is we're going to be there for about 16 full days - that's less than two per day! :lmao: I had so much fun coming up with our list!

Via Napoli is absolutely near the top of the list! I can't imagine a trip to Disney World without a visit to my favorite restaurant!

Thank you! And you're welcome.

It’s Snack Time!
Must-Do Snacks

Before jumping into the must-dos at Magic Kingdom (which I promise will be the next PTR section!), I thought it may be fitting to follow up our list of ADRs with a few “must-do” and “would love to do” snacks.

My list includes a few favorites as well as a whole bunch of new snacks.

First the favorites…

Anika’s favorite snack in all of Disney World is the Mickey Cookies and Cream Ice Cream Sandwich. I’m sure several will be consumed during our trip:

745_zpsbveidu3u.jpg

My favorite snack is the Carrot Cake Cookie from the Writer’s Stop in Hollywood Studios. If you like carrot cake even a tiny bit, you MUST try one!

942_zpsblr1xv8l.jpg

It isn’t a Disney vacation without Disney (crack covered) popcorn:

2954_zps4j0sab9x.jpg

Or a tasty Mickey Pretzel:

1332_zpshtehqyqs.jpg

During our 2013 trip I finally tried a Cream Cheese Pretzel and I LOVED it! The Lunching Pad will be getting another visit from me!

1333_zpsa0nc5b8v.jpg

We also need to return to Goofy’s Candy Company and make another custom Mickey treat:

1532_zpshln27rvm.jpg

I also have a few “must-dos” at the Universal Parks. Of course, they include:

1494_zps38c7cb00.jpg

Butterbeer! Ahhh… I can almost taste it now!

We also must get another Cauldron Cake (another Harry Potter treat). They’re delicious!

1614_zpsf3ce678f.jpg

Of course, we must get a treat at the new (to us) Florean Fortescue’s Ice Cream:

BBIce_zpsxbadzevq.jpg

I think Anika would love a Brain Freezin’ D’oh Nut Sundae:

Moving back over to Disney World, there are a few snacks I’d love to get at the water parks.

First, I want to try the Sand Pail – an ice cream sundae in a bucket! I mentioned this one to Anika and she thinks it sounds awesome!

I also can’t wait to have another box of mini donuts. I’m actually not a huge fan of most donuts, but these are PHENOMENAL:

As for new park snacks, I’m determined to finally get a treat from Karamell Kuche. A top prospect is the sea salt caramel:

I also want to finally try a Grey Goose Slush. Would you believe I’ve never had one?!

I’d love to make sure to leave room for a Sunshine Seasons Strawberry Shortcake. I know Anika would love to help me eat this!

The new ice cream shop in France also needs at least one visit – near the top of the must-try list is an ice cream macaroon:

A final spot that needs a visit in Epcot is La Cava. I can’t wait to try the Avocado Margarita!

Another beverage that must be tried is LeFou’s Brew at Gaston’s:

Finally, I need to knock another cupcake off of my list at Starring Rolls. Red Velvet, anyone?

Does anyone else notice that besides the popcorn and the Mickey pretzel, all the rest of our snacks are drinks or desserts? :lmao:

Thankfully I have forty more days to expand my stomach so I have room for all this food! Thank goodness I have a travel companion! :thumbsup2

Up Next for 2015: Magic Kingdom Must-Dos (for real, this time!)

That is one yummy group of snacks. But even more importantly - adult beverages. :drinking1 I really liked the avocado rita, but a warning - don't drink it right before dinner because it will really fill you up.

That donut /sundae thing from Universal looks amazing. ::yes::

Before jumping into the must-dos at Magic Kingdom (which I promise will be the next PTR section!), I thought it may be fitting to follow up our list of ADRs with a few “must-do” and “would love to do” snacks.
Oh... I should have skipped this update. I'm sitting at work hungry. And now I'm hungrier.

That looks awesome. I've never heard of that one. I think that would be a must do for me!

Ice cream. A bucket. A shovel. How appropriate. :rotfl2::rotfl:

I also want to finally try a Grey Goose Slush. Would you believe I’ve never had one?!
Well, have 2 then! Well, have one of the Grey Goose Slushes and then try one of the orange ones too! They're really good!

Finally, I need to knock another cupcake off of my list at Starring Rolls. Red Velvet, anyone?
Can't go wrong with any of the cupcakes there. I've tasted one of those before and it was good. It still can't compete with my love of the chocolate peanut butter cupcake, but it is definitely not a bad choice!

Does anyone else notice that besides the popcorn and the Mickey pretzel, all the rest of our snacks are drinks or desserts? :lmao:
I thought that was how it was supposed to be? :confused3 :rotfl:

Not one of your snacks, but your rundown reminded me -- my wife saw a 2-second clip of a "kitchen sink" in one of those Behind The Scenes tv shows (infomercial?) and said, "what was that?!" So then I had to go and try to get a Beaches and Cream adr. :faint:

I'm sure it's happened, but then I don't tend to read a lot of PTR's, but I have never seen a post dedicated solely to snacks. And I'm very embarrassed to say I that there are so many that have escaped me. Oh so many!!

Sunshine Seasons Strawberry Shortcake!!!!!! That is not one of them. :)

On a related note, I do highly recommend the Strawberry cupcake at the Boardwalk Bakery if you can fit it in among all this other stuff. Seriously, it may even be worth substituting the Red Velvet. It is THAT GOOD.
