October 2015 Fort Wilderness Meet and Greet Thread

Hello DIS boarders!

It seems a few of us are going to be at the Fort at a similar time. Instead of having every bodies pre trip threads overloaded with this Meet and Greet, why not create its own thread. Here is what I propose.

I know many of us have plans such as myself (DW maximizes our Disney time since we only have a short amount of time for our trips.) Others are less planning like as they may not have ADRs, FP+, parties, or other commitments. They also may come to the fort more often than others.

Right now, I will keep this as an October thread but who knows it might change to just a M&G thread for others to use while some may not be there. Well everyone, enjoy!

We are...gulp... tenting it. We camp quite a few weekends out of the year but never for more than three days at a time. This will truly be an adventure

This will be our 8th or 9th Food and Wine trip. Look for my parents RV in the 100 or 200 loop ... it'll have a big green Mickey on the front with 'BROCKTOON' on it. I'll be flying down and taking the Magical Express to meet up with the parents at the Fort. We should have a couple cases of craft beer and Mike's, and usually some sort of frozen drinks as well. Aiming to do the Halloween party this year, probably on 10/27

We were there at the same time as you last year, took the golf cart and saw your green mickey sign,we are going this year the same week again and going to the party on the 29th, maybe we can meet this year!

Yep ... we may not have been around when you drove by last year. Every year I say I'm going to spend some more time just relaxing at the campsite kicking back. And it seems like instead I still find myself somewhere over at the Food&Wine whenever I have downtime. I usually meet up with other DISers (non camping types) throughout the trip, so maybe I can finally get some to drop by the Fort to see what they're missing! Typically I spend more time crossing WDW tracking them down instead of them coming to the Fort.

If all goes well, I should be able to post on here when I'm down at the Fort so people know when I'm around. If there's someone outside of the RV drinking a beer and listening to music, it's probably me ...

I so wish we could go twice a year!!! The only time my husband is not in the field is Winter.

One day we will visit the fort in October....sigh.

Sounds like us. We always say we're going to just relax but we always end up doing something. If it's not the parks we go visit our friends in Tampa and go out on their sailboat, or visiting family in mount Dora or palmetto. Next time they are coming to visit us!

Serenitygr, I know it is a couple months wait yet, but wanted to wish you and your family a wonderful and safe trip. Wish we could meet up again, but we do not arrive until late December.
