Here's a tale of RV whoa that some of you might find interesting. My two cousins (brothers) traded in their aging Winnebago Class C for a brand spanking new Forest River Berkshire 2015 38 footer (actually 39.5). They are avid Disneyphiles and charter members of the DVC. They use the motorhome for their trips from South Jersey. So, i saw them on Saturday at a birthday party and was given the following tail (I know I spelled it wrong, but i'm just a dog). When they brought the RV home and were showing it off to family, the one brother's daughter was sitting on the living room side looking at the kitchen (they had all three slides extended). She says, 'oh look, a light bar to illuminate the floor at night'. Wrong. It was sunlight coming through the gap created because someone forgot to install the seal that wiped the bottom of the slide as it moved. Back to the dealer. It rapid succesion they had a furnace fail, and i won't bore you with the details of installing a wrong replacement, reinstalling the failed unit, trying to pass it off as a new one, and then figuring out it was a bad circuit card. A big leak in the cold water distribution manifold came next, then issues with the headlight/foglight control switches and an interesting glitch that caused the radio to cut out and the rear view camera to come on when the brake pedal was depressed. All in all, eight different and distinct isssues that screamed "QUALITY CONTROL". The only thing i could say was i hoped that with all this found and fixed before their first trip that they could now look forward to many many miles of carefree driving. I shall however, not hold my breath.
