DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Cook about a half dozen strips of bacon. Then in that pan cook up about a pound of Brussle Sprouts until they caramelize a bit, about 10 to 12 minutes. I just trow a bit of salt and pepper in. Then put the sprouts in a serving bowl and crumble the bacon on top.

I follow that recipe very closely except I throw out the brussels sprouts.

Heat oven to 350... place 1lb bacon on cooking sheet. Place in oven.

While that is cooking, grab a skillet and cook another 1lb bacon on the stove top. When your bacon has reached the desired constancy on the stovetop take off heat then take out the bacon from the oven.

Place the pan cooked bacon on the oven cooked bacon. Take any crispy bacon and crumble and place on top.

Serve warm. :thumbsup2

That sounds better.

Made beer can chicken on the grill for dinner tonight. First time in years I did that and man was it good. Added Mesquite wood chunks to add the smoke. Will do that again a couple of more times over the summer.

Let us know when, so we know what time to arrive.

Retirement?
Well, now let me see. You know, I don't have any idea what that means...
I know what you think it means, sonny. To me, it's just a made up word. A politician's word...
so young fellas like yourself can wear a suit and a tie, and have a job.

+1:thumbsup2 Nicely done. I like putting the word "promotion" in there, but it works just as well with "retirement".

Excellent! Enjoy the trip, sir.
Question: flying in, but driving home... interesting plan, but what's the reasoning?
(just a matter of curiosity here)

My in-laws have been there since the end of Feb and they had someone drive their van down for them. FIL won't drive back so I get to go down for a few days and drive him back while MIL flies back.

Top O the Morning Dads! All the best to you Randall today and enjoy the hell out of your trip to DaWorld!

Busy couple of days. The Brit, another couple, the Pirate Princess and I head to Belize on Thursday. Lot of stuff to pack to get ready and right now we are ahead of the game. Highlight of the trip (hopefully) is to dive with Whale Sharks. Planning and paying started 18 months ago and I can't believe it is finally here. The kid is peeing her pants excited about it.

Say it brother. Me? I am going to enjoy a chuckle or two when the kids of these young pups start driving. Good luck guys, if I can get through it, anyone can. As Dori says, "Just keep swimming."
Sounds like a great trip CJ - enjoy and post some pics when ya get back.
'Morning all...
Our young'en should be headed home from school this evening. That's gonn'a make his momma right happy for a few days. Need to have his car looked over while he's here, so that will make my wallet less happy, but it'll jut have to get over it
Good deal, always nice when they come home especially for the moms. Ours arrives back home Thursday night and will be nice fro Mom daughter time as the fiance, did I really just type that, stationed out in San Diego ain't around for her to hang with. Feel bad for her but will be nice for the Holiday as we are having a house full of family & friends Sunday. Enjoy having the boy home.

Have a great time! I want to see one of your diving picture updates when you return!

Depending on when you get there you could always head on over to the ESPN expo and pick up Dopey Merchandise and NB shoes. People seem to make between 25 and 50% on stuff they buy and then sell on ebay. You could probably cover your family vacation if you bought the right stuff.

Resort diner seems a lot less stressful and much less likely to make people hate you for flipping merch.
Well, either one seems very viable.

Considering I passed on the opportunity to buy and resell merchandise when I was in Disneyland for the Star Wars half, I'll probably just go for the cheap way out.

Hey guys, just found this group via one of your members that heads up the Clash of Clans clan I'm part of (Disneyworld clan!). Would be honored to join the group if you'd have me. Here's a brief intro about myself:

Real Name: Will - age 31
Location: Fort Worth, TX
Family Situation: Married with one daughter (8 months)
Occupation: Natural Gas Origination
Pets: 2 Labs: Belle & Bailey
Favorite Food: some good TexMex enchiladas
Favorite Drink: Tito's (staying loyal to TX!) or Makers Mark 46

Here's a tale of RV whoa that some of you might find interesting. My two cousins (brothers) traded in their aging Winnebago Class C for a brand spanking new Forest River Berkshire 2015 38 footer (actually 39.5). They are avid Disneyphiles and charter members of the DVC. They use the motorhome for their trips from South Jersey. So, i saw them on Saturday at a birthday party and was given the following tail (I know I spelled it wrong, but i'm just a dog). When they brought the RV home and were showing it off to family, the one brother's daughter was sitting on the living room side looking at the kitchen (they had all three slides extended). She says, 'oh look, a light bar to illuminate the floor at night'. Wrong. It was sunlight coming through the gap created because someone forgot to install the seal that wiped the bottom of the slide as it moved. Back to the dealer. It rapid succesion they had a furnace fail, and i won't bore you with the details of installing a wrong replacement, reinstalling the failed unit, trying to pass it off as a new one, and then figuring out it was a bad circuit card. A big leak in the cold water distribution manifold came next, then issues with the headlight/foglight control switches and an interesting glitch that caused the radio to cut out and the rear view camera to come on when the brake pedal was depressed. All in all, eight different and distinct isssues that screamed "QUALITY CONTROL". The only thing i could say was i hoped that with all this found and fixed before their first trip that they could now look forward to many many miles of carefree driving. I shall however, not hold my breath.

Welcome Will!

Maybe I need to download clash of clans and join the fun over there. Never played it before. I've been playing Game of War, but I'm about bored with it. I got hypnotized by Kate Upton's bouncing :goodvibes:goodvibes on the TV commercials, but that is definitely the highlight of that game.

Thanks for the welcome guys - glad to be a part. Afwdwfan - if you do decide to play C of C you should definitely look us up. I think that 3-4 of the disdads are already members of the clan. It's all good fun and relatively addicting to play.

Cook about a half dozen strips of bacon. Then in that pan cook up about a pound of Brussels Sprouts until they caramelize a bit, about 10 to 12 minutes. I just trow a bit of salt and pepper in. Then put the sprouts in a serving bowl and crumble the bacon on top.

This could be a winner. One of the grandmas makes really yummy Brussels Sprouts but we're not sure what her plans are for Easter (yet).

Sounds good, but I'm not sure that 2 lbs. is enough. I may have to modify the portions to accommodate the number of guests.:rotfl2:

Have a great trip Randall

Nice to meet you Will.

I was in that clan until a phone re-format wiped my game.

Did they try telling the brake pedal jokes?
