More Alcohol in Magic Kingdom - Guys, I guess this is happening

I read a thread on the Theme Parks forum about this. Some were speculating that the new restaurant would serve alcohol like BOG. I'm assuming that is what the OP is thinking.

Until Disney officially announces it, I wouldn't bet on it. So far I've seen nothing on the Disney parks blog. And they report everything on that blog

Well at least we can offically have an excuse for some of the buffoonery that goes on in the parks.

Oh ok she must be drunk :drinking:

When they say that it's going to be in the style of BOG they mean the way it's quick service for lunch and table service for dinner. And the name "Cantina" may imply alcohol to some, but it's too soon to tell. And that name is subject to change, just like the entire focus of the restaurant because it's so early in the game. There's an article on the Disney Food Blog about it with a little bit more detail. Also, this is the wrong place for this thread.

The only reason BOG serves alcohol is because the Beast's castle is "officially" in France and not in the Magic Kingdom.

You lost me here :confused3

They say that once you officially step inside the Beast's castle that you are then in France and they can serve alcohol in France. When you leave the Beast's castle you are once again back inside the Magic Kingdom where no alcohol is served. That is how they justified selling alcohol inside the Magic Kingdom. My server told me that the first time I had dinner there.

So by that logic couldn't they serve alcohol in just about any other themed restaurant at the MK?

If people wanna drink, they'll just sneak it in anyway. If MK offers alcohol with only 4 hours left in the park, I don't see the big deal.

That doesn't sound like anything official. It sounds like something a server came up with.
