Friends and Family Discount

Can a DCP employee get both a room discount and a dining plan discount? My daughter is trying to book, but it keeps adding to more than what the discount should be. So I am wondering, if she books the DDP discount, does she lose the room discount? She is more timid about asking questions when she has them on the phone, so I figured someone here may know!
Thanks!

She can't book free dining and a cm discount.

There isnt always a cm discount on the dining plan and I believe they need to call to book it.

Thank you- that makes sense with free dining. But they had given her a price for a discount with her in the room, and then said they had a dining plan discount, and told her the price of that. But when they told her the total price of both, it was $637 more than it should have been, so I wondered if she was losing one of the discounts? Hopefully she can try again and find out the reason for the price difference.

Well, the dining discount isn't free. There's still a charge, it's just less than full price. So if she was expecting it to be free that might be where the price difference feels weird.

They should be able to tell her what the price of the discounted dining plan would be per person, per night. Then she can do the math to make sure it's similar.

I've always followed this discussion, great info! Does anyone know if a cast member signs you in, can you do the fastpasses before that day? If so, how and when?

Once the CM makes the reservation you can sign into the My Disney experience and make all reservation at the appropriate time. I made all our ADRs. Of course you will need to have your tickets linked to your account to reserve Fast Passes.

I was surprised to find out that if I have the F & F discount room only, that you can't call and add tickets to the package without paying for them in full? Is this the case? or did I just get a CM that wasn't aware? Ive gotten room only before (not under F & F) and changed to package in the past.

Right, because they aren't changing it to a package. They're just adding standalone tickets to the reservation, so they're due in full like they would be if you bought them off the website.

CM reservations can't get turned into typical packages.

aaarcher86: I see!!! Can she remake my reservations and have tickets on the new one? Or are CM's never allowed to make room/ticket package reservations?

If she can't, and I buy tickets separately, will they be able to be linked to MB's for room and tickets together?

Has anyone ever done a comparison on a Fall trip with Free Dining VS CM discount? I'm wondering if rooms during that time usually go for 50% off plus discounted dining plans? Thanks in advance!

No, CM reservations can't have regular tickets/package. They can add stand alone tickets, but that's just the same as buying them through the website yourself.

When you buy tickets separately you just head to MDE, go to my reservations, and under tickets you'll put in each ticket number and assign it to a person. That's it! Your MB just reads the info on MDE, nothing is actually on it. So anything showing on MDE your MBs will utilize.

With a free dining offer you pay full rack rate for the room.

My sister works for ABC and on the cast member eligibility grid she is able to book F&F discounts from Disneyland but not Disney World. Does anyone know if this ever changes and she gets a window to offer a F&F discount to Disneyworld?

Thanks

I don't believe so, no.

Right, but we always add the dining plan so I after doing the math, if Free Dining is offered then the math says it's a better deal for us, since we are a family of 5.

Any lower discount beyond the 40% for March or April (or even up through May or June) yet? Anyone able to get the discounted dining plan in the next few weeks or months? Thanks.

I called last night and was told the current discounted dining plan is up to March 28. Nothing yet for after March, but she told me to call back in a few days to check again.

I'll keep calling every few days to check, but if anyone hears that a new discounted dining plan is available (I'll be there in May), please let us know! The CM I spoke with mentioned that it usually goes quickly for the resort I'm staying at, so I'm hoping to get on the phone as soon as it becomes available.

Thanks for checking, shpooey. I have been watching this thread and also calling about once a week. My trip is over the Easter holiday so the room discount may not drop any further. (Rack rate is also higher then, so that extra 10% would help a lot.) I may or may not do the dining plan depending on how much it is discounted. (I also have another trip planned for the end of June to watch for.) I hate to call too often. It feels like nagging...

I called today and was told that they never have a F & F discount - where the cast member is not in the room - greater than 40%. That is contrary to what I was told when I booked (that even with cast member not in the room the discount could reach 50%.

Anyone know for sure?

I'm trying to add days, but my hotel is completely booked.
