Free Dining Fall 2015? (and a whole lot more)

Agreed. Just wonder if there will be any rooms available at the time of the announcement for that day. Either way, it's taking a chance. Might as well go for the one that will save more money and wait for the announcement..
It's funny because last year when free dining was available to the public, Oct 3rd was the cut off day. I already had a reservation and i tried to call in to get the free dining added to my reservation and of course the phones were all tied up. I had to go to work, and by the time i got there free dining wasnt available for Oct. 3rd any more at the resort I was staying at or any of the others in my budget. So I noticed It was available for the previous day so booked a new reservation for one extra night. So after the mayhem subsided (about 2 days) I called and canceled my other reservation. My wife could not leave the day earlier so I asked Disney what happened if i showed up the next day of check in. They told me it would be considered a no-show and the reservation would be canceled.. I told them that i guess I would have to come down a day earlier then the rest of my family and check in and they changed my reservation back to the original day even though free dining was no longer available that day...

No idea. They have only received the QSDP for free. Lol

Must have been wishful thinking since I was thinking of staying there ;-) their suites look awesome!! :-) oh the tough choices of trying to find a resort :-) they all are fabulous!

Woah now that's interesting! Sounds like once you said that and everything they had some sympathy...now did they change it back to the original day right there on the phone as soon as you mentioned it? Man that's really interesting. I guess I'll have to see what the dates are hopefully in May or sooner and call immediately...if the cut off is like the 4th or 3rd maybe I'll use a similar scheme. But it all depends on who is on the other end of the line and how much they're willing to help you out..

Yes, they changed the dates on the spot... I would have been willing to come down by myself the day before and spend the extra money for extra night, but that also meant that that we had another whole day of free dining for the whole family...

and your check in day would still have to be on or before the cut off..

Yeah would be worth venturing down there for an extra day for sure. Hate playing the waiting game but hopefully it won't be too much longer. I'll be watching this thread like a hawk and any other sites that mention it as well so I can call as soon as it's announced (if I need to).

We are arriving on October 3rd. Praying for free dining or a really good room discount but imagine neither will happen. We shall see!

Going October 5 - 16...nervous because of black out dates in the past...hoping I just reach the cut off if free dining is announced....praying and hoping!

We're in the same boat. With mine and my husband's jobs our dates are fixed. We're going Oct 17-26, fingers toes, and eyes crossed.

If a "blackout" date happens in the middle of your stay, do you still get free dining for the whole trip?

Your check in date is all that matters when it comes to Free Dining. The rest of your stay will be included even if a black out starts the day after your check in.

Your check in date is all that matters. As long as it is included in the offer, you are eligible to get free dining for up to 14 nights.

Well we are now in the watch too! Free Dining has been our key for the past Four years! It's been October and November every year and it always worked out great! The anticipation is killin me but the countdown is ON!

Don't know if this will help you or not but doctor disney has on his site that there is a marathon Oct4-6. I think often times disney reduces or blacks out promotions during special events because of higher bookings during those events. I hope that's not true because we have dates in Oct too that we can't be flexible with.

Here's his link to special events on his page.

Does anyone know of a site other than mousesavers.com that offers the historical dates for free dining? I noticed on their site they only showed the blackout dates for 2014. I know there were blackout dates in other years and don't have any idea what they were, but I can't seem to find any information out there.

Mouse planet does if you go under their updates and look through the previous months it lists all the dates it was offered. I would suggest looking back at like september for a list of offered dates. Thats what i did to attempt to plan for this year

these were the FD dates for 2013:
September 29 - October 2
October 18 - November 2
November 11 - 23
December 12 - 22

blackout dates would be the ones not listed for FD
