The Official May 2015 Thread!!

I just found out yesterday that they have a bridge between the two and show movies at each :) can't wait til they post the May events calendar for the hotels

Oh yeah, they do have a bridge. Every time I've stayed at Pop I always mean to take the time out and go over to AoA and look at it but I never do. This trip I'm gonna have to make sure to do it!

I've never watched one of the movies either! Lol it's another one of those things I would like to do but then never seem to get to. The closest I've come is I think last May I was walking through while i believe Alice in Wonderland was playing.. Or it could've been Frozen.. Lol that just shows how preoccupied I was with getting somewhere else instead of taking time to see the little things.

Woohoo! We booked out first trip to disney world! Going may 18-24th staying at the Caribbean beach resort

First Disney trip booked! I'm so excited. The kids don't know yet ;-)

We are traveling May 26-June 1, and staying at CBR.

Of those of you surprising your kids how and when are you going to do it?
Hmm, probably whenever my husband is ready to talk about it, lol! I want to tell them soon enough so that they give some input on planning. But just not quite yet.

My daughter unknowingly has input.. LOTS of it. She watches the planning videos and always tells me what she wants to do, where she wants to eat, etc. From that feedback and talking to her Grandma and Uncle about their upcoming trip she has pretty much planned ours :)

I sort of wish we had kept it a surprise, but I couldn't help talking about it!

We talk about going on vacation "at some point" and as I stated above my Mom and brother are going soon so we talk to them in terms of "their trip." My husband is trying not to tell her until we are on the plane on the way there. Considering we have 15 hours and 2 layovers from when we leave here to when we land there he thinks she may eventually figure it out on the way and process it just fine.

We are giving her a suitcase and the kids WDW guidebook so she doesn't we forgot her birthday... If she doesn't figure it out by the gifts recieved I want to tell her. I do not think she will process just showing up very well. He doesn't want to tell her because it will distract her from her last week and a half of school and she won't stop talking about it. Just to convince him she needs some warning. Otherwise she won't process anything and be defiant the whole time we are there for our short 4 park days trip. Then she will be mad at my Mom and brother for not telling her considering we are stopping in their state before coming back to ours.

I have NO idea!!! My son knew all about our last trip, because he was dealing with anxiety/sensory issues. But he seems to have outgrown many of them (age 5.5 vs. just 4) and we want to surprise him. Though I'm not sure if we should do it on the day we leave or a few days earlier so it's easier to pack? We are flying in late on Saturday 5/2 (so that day doesn't really count). I also don't want to tell him about the Pirates and Pals fireworks cruise until that night. He LOVES Captain Hook--even dressed as him for Halloween--so in case it gets canceled (bad weather... rare but I know it can happen) I don't want him to get too excited.

Yea, I worry about the same. She will have just turned 6, but I don't know how well she would do with a surprise this big. I plan on having her help me pack for the family visit and she will think it is for Disney too, but I made her and her sister character inspired dresses, skirts, and shirts so those will be secretly packed. We fly out late too, and will not get there until the following afternoon (overnight flight) so we were thinking movie, dinner, airport for that day. If I get my way she will have about 11 days to be excited before we go.

That is awesome you will get to experience the Pirates and Pals fireworks cruise. I would keep that a surprise until it's time to board, just in case for the same reasons you plan to. Have fun!!!

We will be traveling May 9-15 to celebrate my twins 5th birthday. It will be their first trio, and they have no idea we are going. Telling them the morning of :). Staying at Port Orleans Riverside. So excited to have found this board!

We are going to tell DS (10) and DD (8) on the Friday before we leave that we are going on a road trip for the weekend and that they need to pack a back pack with stuff that will keep them occupied in the car for three hours. On Sat. morning when we are feeding them breakfast we are going to give each a little present. Inside will be their MB and Disney lanyards with pins on them. After breakfast we are headed to the airport.

Paid off the trip today, 70 days to go!
