your help needed. I have stayed at this resort before. I have a cornea transplant and need the most light available at night for walking. For example, POR was nice, but a nightmare with the paths and such. Which are is most well lit little islands in your opinion. I will plan to ask to be near a bus top for ease as well. I use a flashlight, but any manmade light helps even better.
any thoughts or ideas welcome.

:magnify:Thank you.

Do the kids meals still come with a bucket? I'd rather skip packing sand toys if possible. Thanks!

We just booked our vacation CBR May 5-13. I am so excited for this trip, well it is a return Disney Trip, this is our first trip staying on property. We are also celebrating my sons 9th birthday, and my husbands and I honeymoon. This trip is going to be our best trip yet.
We currently have the dinning plan, but we got just the quick service. I am thinking that we may actually do more character dinning this trip, is it worth it to go up one level?

Hum, this is a question that I don't believe has been asked before and I'm a bit stumped in answering because I've never given it a lot of thought. Did you book preferred or standard? If preferred, then I would think that it's possible that the villages on both side of OPR might be more lit up because of the lighting from the courtyard, main pool, etc. If standard, I'm thinking that the request that you have stated would be a good one. Having said all that, I've made the loop around the entire resort promenade at night and I don't remember thinking that it was too dark and being uncomfortable walking in a dimly lit area.

Well, if you are doing several character meals, then it might be worth it to bump up to the Disney Dining Plan that includes the table service meal. Character meals can get quite expensive. The allearsnet.com site has all of the menus including prices. I would suggest that you check out the menus and prices and see if it would actually be cost effective to go with the other plan.

If you plan on doing a lot of character meals, I'd definitely upgrade the dining plan. They are pretty expensive, and could end up costing you a lot out of pocket if you do several. But we LOVE character meals! :)

Thanks, I think we are going to get the 1 table service so that we can do so character dinning this trip.

I've not had a cornea transplant but a retinal detachment and lens replacement. I do also have difficulty adjusting to light changes and low light. I've also stayed at POR riverside and CBR recently.

CBR is definitely easier to navigate than POR riverside. Not so many small pathways with thick vegetation. I would say the darkest places at CBR are caribbean cay at night and the bridge area by Barbados.

Definitely let the CBR resort know about your concerns, I think they will be able to accommodate you well.

I think any of the preferred rooms will be good. If you are looking for a standard room, perhaps Martinique 22 will be a good choice. It is close to a bus stop and if I remember correctly, a short walk down the main path to OPR and the main pool.

I'm planning for Spring Break 2016. I'm wondering if the rooms that fit 5 would actually be comfortable for 2 parents, 2 girls 13 and 11 and a 10 year old boy. I'm afraid we are going to be really cramped. Thoughts?

We have stayed at POR in the AB rooms that sleep 5 with myself, DW, DS8, DN14 and DN15 with no problem. And the rooms at CBR are actually bigger than at POR.

Thanks! I've been worried we would be super cramped. I feel better now. Thanks!

Here now! Resort is GORGEOUS! A few scattered thoughts before we hit MK:
New beds super comfy!
Room not ready until 8pm and liquor bottles and trash everywhere, but they were v apologetic and feel ok with it

Murphy bed was loose and nearly fell on daughter when she say on the bench (with it closed up). Maybe test it first. Maintenance fixing it and no harm done.

Just ordered beach bucket meal yesterday (nuggets) and it comes with shovel and is nice size (big enough for fun, not unwieldy to pack)

And BEST of ALL!!! Flower and Garden topiaries are up early at Epcot!!!

We've stayed at the Caribbean Beach several times and loved it, but with my mom joining the fun this time, we decided to give the AoA suites a try. We're excited, but I've got to say that I'm a little heart-broken to be missing out on those amazing guava turnovers from the Grab and Go area. Are they still being served? I'm an early riser--is it crazy to think about jumping in the car and zipping over one morning for a treat?

What a great question, I never even knew they did this. Will def come in handy with my 3 yr old!
IIRC, there is also a QS spot in AK that serves the kids meal in a bucket. Someone else may correct me on that though. I think it is the spot inside the dinosaur circus/fair type area.

I remember those a few years ago, but don't remember seeing them when I last went in 2013, maybe someone else knows for sure though
