Pigletsmomma's suggestion is a good one if you plan on staying the night before. There are several hotels in the area that will have a stay and cruise package. With the package, you can park your car for the length of your cruise as long as you stay one night before. Some hotels also include free transportation to the port.It may a bit early for this question...but, I will ask anyway. Last time we cruised out of Galveston we parked at BOI Valet. BOI Valet is out of business and VIP is now in their spot, but they are not parking for Disney cruises . Therefore, trying to figure out parking options - are y'all planning on park and cruise at hotel or just parking at near the boat?
We LOVED that BOI was inside, protected parking. I can't find anything offering inside protected parking. Do y'all know of any?
If you prefer to use cruise parking, I recommend Discount Cruise Parking (DCP Cruise Parking link). We parked there for the cruise we just returned from. Parking for the week only cost $35. So, once we paid for the hotel for the previous night (we stayed near Hobby Airport), and the parking, we had saved more than $30 over the best priced hotel we could find with a stay and cruise package. I am not sure what the hotel prices will be for Thanksgiving (I have not checked yet), but the Saturday before we sailed, the Oak Ridge Boys were in concert at the Grand Opera House, so with a high demand for rooms, the prices were at peak levels.
Our parking experience was a very good one. They unloaded our luggage for us, and loaded it on to the shuttle. We only had to wait a few minutes from arrival before departing for the port. The driver was very helpful. I have problems navigating stairs, and he helped me on and off the bus. Plus when we got to the port, he brought a porter over for us, and transferred our luggage from the shuttle to the porters cart.
