Hello all, this is going to be our third DCL cruise and thr first time I've posted on DCL meets. On thr other cruises we went with another family, this time we'll be on our own. We have 3 daughters ages 12, 10, 10 and are looking forward to this cruise! They would love to meet families with similar age girls. We are from northern CA.

I'm not sure everyone would have received this unless you have paid in full. There is a change to the Iceland itinerary that I received via email from DCL:

Thank you for selecting a Disney Cruise Line vacation. We are glad that you will be joining us for the June 29, 2015, 11-Night Norway, Iceland and Scotland cruise.

We have recently been informed that there will be four other ships in port on Saturday, July 4, 2015 in Akureyri, Iceland, and that the port is anticipating a large number of visitors that day. We know from experience and Guest feedback that these conditions can impact the experience ashore. Therefore, in order to provide our Guests with a less crowded port experience, we have switched the order of our ports-of-call in Iceland to be as follows:

Saturday, July 4, 2015 Reykjavik, Iceland (previously Akureyri)
Sunday, July 5, 2015 Reykjavik, Iceland (previously Reykjavik)
Monday, July 6, 2015 Akureyri, Iceland (previously Reykjavik)

The remainder of the itinerary remains unchanged. We are confident this revised itinerary will provide for an overall better experience in both ports and look forward to welcoming you aboard this summer.

We're not paid in full, but I did receive the email with the date changes. I went online to check the hours and now we're only scheduled to be in Akureyri from 12:30-6:45 instead of 8:30-5:15. If you've booked private tours you'll want to address that asap.

Well that's a bummer, I like having a lot of time ashore to see as much as I can. It's not like I'm likely to be in Iceland again.

Hi! We flew Virgin LGW to MCO this past Feb and it was pretty straight forward. It depends on how you want to get to CPH. EasyJet flies there from Gatwick, so you could connect that way (changing airlines you'd have to leave a bit of time to account for possible delays plus Immigration and baggage), while SAS (also pretty cheap) flies from LHR (so BA and more of the legacy airlines to to Heathrow).

We live in the UK so we just need the one-way flight, but we're planning to fly with EasyJet as they're my favourite budget airline. I did check SAS and they have some super cheap flights too!

In terms of getting to the airports, both are easy. Let me know if you want more exact options (we fly out of both at least once per year!).

Hi - just wondering if you (or anyone else) has a recommendation on how much time to allow between flights in LHR. We are flying in on Virgin and probably taking SAS to CPH. The Virgin flight gets in at 6:25 a.m.

Where in Northern California do you live? We are in Walnut Creek, and I have a DD age 12.

That's great! We are in Los Altos, near Mountain View/Sunnyvale.

How does this cruise meets thing work once we all board the ship, like is there a designated spot and time on the first day where people from this thread meet in person? If not there should be, or for instance if anyone with kids wants to meet up after boarding so the kids can meet each other and have potential playmates from day 1...

Just wondering ;)

Hello everyone. Just booked this morning. Luckily I saw they opened up booking early, so it made it easier. It will be me, my wife and DD 15 DD 11.

We are planning to spend a few days in London afterwards, then travel up to Ireland for a few more days before flying back out of Dublin.

Looking forward to talking to everyone.

I am OVER THE MOON:banana::banana::banana: to say we booked this today! We are in a 9A and transferred the OBB from a So Caribbean sailing 9/14. Norway, Denmark and ESP Iceland have been on all our bucket lists, we had to do it! Hoping to rope in some cruising friends, too! This will be our third DCL cruise.

So with those temps, no swimming/aquadunk right?

It is me (Jenn, 42), DH (Eric, 43), DD (13 on cruise) and DD (11 on cruise)

Can't wait to get to know you all!

Calfan has a DD12, and I have DD12, and twin DD10...we should get the kids together ;)

:surfweb: I see that Jeff has visited and shared some knowledge... does this mean that he is creating a site for this cruise :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Welcome to everyone! Very exciting to see everyone here.

It will be the 10th Anniversary of the Fish Extender next year... so in true Disney fashion, we have to celebrate any anniversary :lmao: I am NOT volunteering to coordinate... but I must participate ;):)

Debbie

Thanks. Obviously, I couldn't keep paying for a website though. And the comic sans font (Which I used as a joke, but for some reason people loved).

Oh, and the incessant "It doesn't work on iphone.... it doesn't work on ie6".

But seriously, I'll be working on getting something up in the next month or two that will be just as cool, but without the horrible font :)

Does anyone know if this happened?

Hi! It depends on how much of a risk taker you are ;) I'm the paranoid type that if my flight was due to land at 6:25am, I wouldn't consider anything until at least midday if not 1pm. That allows for flight delays, plus you just never know what immigration is going to be like at Heathrow. I've flown through in 10 minutes and waited 2 hours - there's no way to know how it will that day, and what other flights land at the same time. You'd also want to check if you need to change terminals - it's not a huge deal, but if you were in a time crunch it's something you'd want to consider!

That said, there are worse places to be than Heathrow if you do clear immigration really fast and have to wait. Lots of shops and restaurants, and a Yotel in T4 if you need to sleep/shower (it's about £60, minimum 4 hour booking).

Thanks for the info. I ended up booking last night and there is about 4 hours in between so hopefully that will work. We're flying Virgin direct from Detroit and then changing to SAS to get to Copenhagen. It only means going from terminal 1 to 2.
