DHS is closest. I timed it in August. It was six minutes from the bus stop outside of El Centro. Surprisingly, all the parks seemed like a quick ride back to CSR.
I just did EMH this morning at DHS, I left CSR at about 7:40, rode ToT, Star Tours twice, got a few photos, and wandered slowly out of the park and now I'm ridding back to CSR as we speak. Buses have been great from CSR, better than any other resort I've stayed at, and so close to the 3 parks other than MK.… oh pulling up to the resort now! Gotta get the wife out of bed and to AK :)

7 days till check-in!

:cheer2::cool1::dance3:

I'm starting my pre-packing and trying not to look at the weather forecast. Being a Floridian, I know that 10-day forecasts are generally not accurate, but right now it's calling for rain and we had a couple of days of rain on our last trip when we were there for my birthday. I am really hoping for clear skies and no ponchos required! pixiedust:

This is soo cool!!! Way to take full advantage of your stay!!! Your post made me smile because it sounds like something I would do! Tomorrow we will be doing our single digit dance and soooo excited to experience CSR for the first time!! :-)

We have arrived.. We are in the Rix lounge with the tv tuned in for the UGA/FL game... If anyone wants to stop by.

Is this a decent option for catching sports? Do you have much control over what they have on the tv? one tv or multiple? What about tvs at the pool bar?

One person from my group will be going crazy on our departure day if he misses football....but we'd rather not leave the resort.

Here now & need bus advice. We are staying in 9B. We walked to bus stop #4 this morning to get on the MK bus and waited 1 hr 20m!!!!! What did we do wrong? Tomorrow is DHS, which stop should we go to?

Other than the bus our stay has been great. I looooooooooove the Business Class lounge :)

Thanks!

Yikes!! I've never heard of anyone waiting that long for any resort bus! I have an app on my phone called DPart. It is a Disney bus transportation app. It lets you know that bus schedule for wherever you are going in WDW. It even has a button to report buses that are late. We have used it on our last 2 trips and it was really helpful. Anytime you wait over 30 minutes it should be reported. Buses are supposed to run every 20 minutes. It's one of the perks of staying at a Disney resort. That's a LOT of lost park time!

I would definitely notify the front desk if I were you. If it happens again, call them from the stop to advise.

You're paying for bus service in your room rates. An hour us waaaay too long.

Here now also, we happened to get lucky getting our MK bus this morning at 710. But people at our stop (#2) had been waiting for an Epcot bus for about 40 mins. They had to ask another driver to send someone ASAP or they'd miss their ADR. Kinda crazy, hope you have better luck tomorrow!

I've never experienced a bus wait anywhere close to that. Were there full MK buses going by without stopping or did no buses come? What time of day was that?

We stayed 12 nights in 9B last Dec 12th-24th and used stop 1 at El Centro exclusively with no issues at all. If you're doing rope drop at MK you might try walking over to stop 2 as it's the first pick up. We never had any reason not to use stop 1. It's so close, just steps from 9B.

I just checked the DPART app and you have to pay for it and it only has a 1 star rating. Do you really think it is good??? I just hate buying an app that is not really going to help.

I'm seeing it rated fairly well on my iPhone, but not a ton of reviews. Tempted to try it. What 99 cents among thousands of dollars?

We are here too in 9b and I think yesterday was a bit out of the norm. There was people everywhere waiting. We were in "line" under the building but people were even congregating outside the building probably to stay in the warm sun. We overheard an ecv rider that they had a dining reservation in 30 minutes and two ecvs got on the first bus that came. We got out of "line" and jumped in a cab to the contemporary. It was worth the $15 to leave the chaos behind. There was a cm there with a clipboard saying another bus was coming but he didn't have control of the crowd at all.

To answer the football watching question. Yes we were able to watch the game from the fix lounge but they only have two receivers so only two games can be watched at a time. And you have to go outside to the Laguna bar to get drinks as the bar is not open.

One of the reasons I like DL better then DW
Nooooo bus wait, just a few minute walk and you are in the heart of the action.
I can't tell you how much extra time we had (figure at least 2hrs a day with four kids under 8) in the parks but it is what it is

We just got home yesterday from a week long stay and never waited longer than 5 minutes for a bus. My question is why did you walk to #4? #1 is much closer.

Had an issue once where the bus for MK never made it around to 1 because it filled up. Waited over 40 min til they finally sent a couple buses right to 1 and it was a mob site with a ton of people piling up.

This is exactly what happened to us a month ago.....perfect bus service except a magic kingdom Saturday rope drop morning. We realized busses were filling up before it got to our stop (el centro) after waiting and waiting. So we walked to another stop and got on.

I will need to freeze ice packs at night to keep my daughters bottles cool during the day. Anybody have any advice how I would be able to do this without a freezer in the room.

From what I'm reading here the last few months it only seems to be an issue for MK rope drop.

Last trip Dec. 12th-24th 2013 we stayed in 9B and used exclusively stop 1 without any issues. Never waited longer than 10 mins for a bus the whole trip. We aren't rope drop people though, we used the buses extensively from 10am-midnight and they were fine. So it seems for a MK rope drop the walk over to stop 2 might be worth it. For anything else I wouldn't worry about it. We'll be there again this year from Dec. 10th-26th and aren't anticipating any issues.
