Hello, all! I just returned from a magical week in Walt Disney World, Sept. 21-28, 2014. So magical, in fact, that I'm suffering a horrible case of post-Disney blues now!

But the one thing I'm not at the moment... is hungry. :lmao: I did some serious eating this last week! I did get a fair amount of photos of my dining adventures, and have thoughts and opinons to express on each, so I do hope you'll join me as I relive the treats and eats that I enjoyed while in the World! :goodvibes

Lunch

Shortly after getting checked in this day and settled in, I decide some lunch was in order before heading over to Magic Kingdom for MNSSHP. I walked around the various stations, weighing my options very carefully.

Finally settling on this beauty...

Turkey Sandwich: Oven-roasted turkey, mashed potatoes, cornbread stuffing, cranberry mayonnaise and watercress on Texas Toast. With pasta salad, and Tie-Dyed Cheesecake!

Honestly, I was hesitant about ordering this sandwich. But my curiosity won-out, and boy am I glad that it did. This beast of a sandwich was absolutely DELICIOUS. Every element of it came together perfectly.

I pulled the top off of it so you can see it's insides... YUM! I want another one now!

The pasta salad, however... I did not love. At all. It mostly got left on my plate.

As for the Tie-Dyed Cheesecake, I mostly only got it because I'd read so much raving about it here on the Dis. I was underwhelmed by it, truthfully. It was very dense... I like my cheesecake light and fluffy. I mean, don't get me wrong, I ate every last bite. ;) Just not something I would order again.

Breakfast

Today I was back for breakfast. I found myself torn between the omelet station or the chicken-fried chicken. After much intense internal discussion, I made my decision:

Chicken-Fried Chicken: Fried chicken breast topped with white sausage gravy, with scambled eggs.

Not pictured is I also ordered a side of potatoes, also with gravy.

I liked this meal because it was hearty and filling, and definitely a different option from the "norm." Very savory and a nice way to start my day!

Breakfast

Since I was taking another trip down for breakfast, I went for that Create-Your-Own Omelet station this time.

I ordered mine with ham, sausage, bacon, mushrooms, and extra cheese. It comes with a biscuit.

This thing was HUGE, and crazy tasty! I loved every bite! Should I find myself staying at Pop again, this might very well end up being my go-to breakfast. Sooo good!

I also grabbed some Pineapple Upside-Down Cake. Because on vacation, you can totally have cake for breakfast if you want! Also, I'd been eyeing this baby all week, and since this was my last meal at Pop, it was my last chance!

Oh. My. God. So moist. So yummy. So gooooood. No regrets! :rotfl:

Thanks! My tiara is hands down the one purchase I was most excited about during my entire trip! (I'm going to wear it to work tomorrow and see how long it takes for my boss to make me take it off...)

Oh man, if vicarious meat-eating is what you're here for, you have come to the right place, my friend. I am a total carnivore. I eat veggies because I'm supposed to, not because I want to, and in as small of amounts as I can get away with.

Welcome! :cutie:

Great start! Thanks so much for taking the time to share your pics and comments. :surfweb:

Looking forward to more!!! :3dglasses

Nice thread, subscribing. Do you happen to know how much you paid for those meals? Might be useful for those of us planning a first-time trip to wdw... I'm mostly interested in the table service ones...

Count me in, please!!! Can't wait to hear about the meat! You are a gal after my own heart. ::yes::

I'm afraid I'm not much help. I'm a Dining Plan devotee, so I don't often think too much much about meal prices anymore. :confused3 I'm so sorry!

Can't wait to read the rest of your reviews. Thanks for sharing!
My pleasure! Thanks for following along! :goodvibes

I'm in!! Love it so far, cant wait to see the food booth pics!!
God, I ate so much at F&W... It was ridiculous. :lmao:

Snack

I'd seen these on the Dis and other Disney food related sites, and I love cake like a proper fat girl should, so I just HAD to try one...

20140921_174932.jpg

Queen of Hearts Strawberry Shortcake Gourmet Cake Cup, and a vanilla iced coffee.

It was AMAZING! I love me some layer cake, so I knew this would be right up my alley! And it was... Until I got about 50% of the way through it. :lmao: I had been told it was much heavier and more massive that it seemed, but I didn't believe it until I could feel my stomach starting to revolt, and I still had another half to go. Eventually I admitted to defeat, and ended up throwing about the last third of it away... Which just felt so WRONG.

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm that looks so good! I only became aware that these little beauties existed before our last trip and I never fit one in, it WILL be happening next time I walk past there :rotfl:

OMG, that strawberry shortcake look good. Definitely adding that to my list of things to eat. That list is getting longer and longer every time I read a dining report. :rotfl2:

My advice: Find somebody to share it with! ;)

Haha, I have the EXACT same problem! :rotfl:

I never got around to trying one of those! Actually, there are many snacks I didn't try because I just love the jalapeno cheese stuffed pretzel. I so wish I could have one right now!

Great updates!

Enjoying your report! I thought the chicken fried chicken sounded good until I saw a pic of it ;) Not very appetizing!
