pop to caribbean beach/ travel agent v disney vacation planners

I love pop century! I'll be there next week, and when free dining came out Wednesday, we booked there for December. but while discussing our options, we asked how much it would be to just go to a moderate without having to upgrade to FD at a value resort. it was only $100 more so we did it. we have been at pop 3 or 4 times, POFR 3 or 4 times and Coronado Springs once. I am excited about CB, but don't know too much about it. so while we are there next week we will check out the grounds and take plenty of pictures!!
the original plan was for us to secure our dates and then turn the reservation over to our travel agent. however, the more we talked and called to get information, we decided to stick with disney so we can make our own changes.
what are your thoughts about CB? what are your thoughts regarding travel agent or not?

If your trip is already booked for next week and you're happy with what you've done on your own then there really isn't a reason to turn it over to a travel agent unless you just want to do it so he/she can make a commission. As a TA myself I've had friends turn over their reservations to me just to help me out. I'm sure your TA would appreciate the money. Plus they could help you with any questions you might have the next few days as you prepare to arrive.

We are trying to decide between doing everything ourselves (there is two of us on it) or use a Disney TA that is one of my coworkers. Our original plan was to stay at POP and upgrade our free dining, but then we found out we would actually save money by going to CBR and getting the Free regular dining.
My reasons for wanting to go with a TA is mostly the ADR's. We really want Cindy's for dinner and I'm worried the we won't get it fast enough.

Um, if your coworker is a TA, doesn't that mean that you are a TA as well? Or is this something she does on the side? The reason I ask is that there are a lot of TAs that call themselves Disney TAs who are frankly clueless when it comes to the complexities of booking a WDW vacation.

I've only once used a TA for a WDW trip and it was a huge mistake that added much unnecessary stress to the planning. For that reason, I would only recommend that someone use a certified Disney specialist who works for an agency that specializes in these vacations
They can be helpful to both first timers or returning guests who are short of time to do it themselves.

But you can also do it yourself quite easily as long as you are prepared to do the research that is necessary to make informed decisions when the time comes.

As for ADRs, some TAs make them, some do not. Some are on the interwebs first thing on the morning of your 180 day and others, not so much. If you can be on your computer at 6 or 7 am on your 180 day, you can have all your ADRs done in the time it takes to sip that first cup of coffee. It really comes down to personal choice.

CBR is a beautiful resort. We stayed in a refurbished room with queen beds, and loved it a lot. My fave mod resort for sure.

I personally would rather book my own vacation. But that's just me.
