Has anyone decorated their Magic Bands? Please show us the pictures!

I haven't finished my bands yet but I will post them when I'm done.

I don't know if anyone mentioned this or not but I just wanted to say that I used a black paint pen on one of the mickey heads and when I went to cover it with the clear coat of polish, it smeared like it was just done seconds before, even though it was 24 hrs later and completely dry. I didn't have that problem with the regular paint I used. I don't know if it was the type of paint pen or polish I was using but if you are going to use a paint pen, maybe practice on something else first so you don't end up like I did. I ended up painting over the black paint pen with polish instead of just taking the paint pen off. And then I covered the black polish with the clear.

Here's my band! It started as a gray band and now it's purple! I'm still considering taking off the gray portion. Since cutting it down, it fits even better but I can see that it would fit great with removing the outer band. I'll be getting another band soon and will do something very subtle. Probably just painting or outlining the Mickey head.

How'd you get it so glossy?

Did our bands last night. Not thrilled with the tattoo bands because even after sealing them and letting them sit they still kind of cracked... DS's band bothers the crap out of me but he loves that it's not "clean" looking and says that it looks like the avengers are "coming off of a comic book page" but hey I don't need to wear it right?. Mine (blue) is my fav. Was going for a pixie dust sort of feel and I love how it turned out! :) DH duct taped his on his own

ok I'm quoting myself because I need some honest opinions. Should I redo DS (red band) He says he likes it but it is really really bugging me (I'm too much of a perfectionist for my own good.) How easy is it to wipe them clean and start over?

I actually have to agree with your son. I'm not an Avengers fan but it does look like they are breaking free of the band. It has a great effect to it and since he likes it I would leave it.

I love this thread! Thanks all of you for being way more creative and patient that I will ever be!

My question: After looking at these 2000 posts, it has dawned on me... Some bands have that dark grey/black thin edge all around them. Some of you paint/cover that edge, or leave it exposed. But it appears like some other bands do NOT have that edge at all? The color/band decoration goes flush to the edge. Did you remove that outer edge? How? Why?

These are awesome. What nail polish/ paint and stickers did you use on the pink one with the swirls and dots?

On that one I just used regular stickers I bought at Michaels. I put a clear base coat on first, let that dry then put the stickers on, I used purple nail polish for Mickey head and the dots, then sealed it with a few coats of the clear base coat again. The green one in the picture with the same stickers I did last year and the stickers have held up perfectly.

It's for sizing as the bands are one size. The outer gray edge peels off (and cannot be put back on!) to make it smaller, for kids or people with smaller wrists.

People do it to for smaller wrists, bou can cut off the excess length instead of separating the bands. I have seen a lot of bands on kids that have just been shortened, so the width must not be a problem for them.

these are three for me and one (blue) for my son. pro tip: nail polish remover allows you to redecorate. the red one used to be my silver snowflake band from up thread. :)

What is the glitter? Is it clear or colored glitter polish? What brand?

Any tips on preventing cracking in bands with temporary tattoos? I'm about to out mine on soon and will probably use an acrylic sealer (instead of base coat nail polish). Thanks!

I'm pretty sure my problem was that the bands were open... make sure they are closed when you do them

Hi everyone! I've been watching this blog and gaining inspiration since January! I have decorated 4 sets of magic bands with help from here! So far I have used nail polish and temporary tattoos.

For those of you who have ride nail polish and acrylic paint- which is easier to use, and which holds up better? We have another set coming in the mail, and my family members are starting to want more elaborate bands!

Thanks! Once I get enough posts I'll share my bands too!

What kinds of paint did you use? If it was acrylic, was it easier/better than nail polish?

My final two...My family's favorite ride in epcot is the oh so corny, Three Caballeros in Mexico. My husband loves Panchito and my son likes Donald...

My first thought when I saw your bands was that the Avengers one was very well done, unique and very cool. I noted it for future use one a band for us! I think it's great just as it is.

My tips to prevent cracking are:

1) Decorate the bands in the position they will be worn - ie, don't have them stretched out flat.

2) Be gentle when putting them on - again, don't flatten them out rather slip them on in a semi closed position.

Once I started doing that we only got a few cracks right in the area of the band that has the holes and that you pretty much have to bend a little in order to fasten them.
