I've been checking and checking to see if anyone would start this thread and I hadn't started it myself previously because I hadn't officially booked it yet. Well, I still haven't but will do so very soon. I figured.. I'll just start the darn thread already!

Hope more folks planning to be on this cruise will join! :thumbsup2

I have added your thread to the cruise meet list pixiedust:
have a great cruise!

We just got off a 7 night Eastern Caribbean Cruise on the Disney Fantasy and we booked this cruise prior to getting off. It seems like it is going to be forever until we get on this cruise!

We just got off the Disney Dream and book the same cruise for next year. We had such a great time being apart of the fish extender group. We would like to to added to the group.

Yay!! We've been planning to book this cruise for forever and I couldn't wait to start a thread before we actually booked. We're booked now. Just happy to see others on here.

I'll be honest, I totally want to be part of the FE group too but I'm not sure I can coordinate it. Anyone else? hehe

I'm also on a guarantee status so I most likely won't know my stateroom until much later. :p

The person who was in charge of organizing our last group did such a great job. I'm not sure I could do all she did. I teach and I know the month of May is hard for me to do anything extra on top of closing out the school year. I can help, but I really don't want to be in charge.
Since we booked while on board we were able to get our same room 7022.

What you do want to know from everyone who joins is who is all in there family, names, genders, age, room number if possible, and the likes of the family members, and if they are traveling with other people.
Also, you want to have a cut off date so that you can get a full count and really focus on making your gifts according to the list of people. Also, if the group gets too big we might need to split into two or mor groups so we don't have so many gifts to make or purchase. Our cutoff date this year was May 1st. That gave us about a month and a week to prepare our gifts.

We are booked on this cruise, too! We are so excited. This will be our 4th Disney cruise. We have participated in an FE exchange on all our cruises and loved it.

I don't mind coordinating the FE now that I have a few under my belt. However, I am very old school when it comes to documents-I'm paper and pencil. I am going to try to learn how to do a Google Doc so I can post it here. The person who coordinated our last FE use a Google Doc that anyone in the group could update, and it worked quite well. I will let you know if I figure it out.

YAY! You're a life saver! Thank you!! :cool1:

Thanks you so much for coordinating!! This will be my first time. I'm excited to be a part of it!

We are booked for this cruise too... but I still don't know if we are going to make it and if we can - who from our party will be on it.

Currently I have two rooms booked for myself, DH, DD#1 (26 at time of cruise) DD#2 (22 at cruise date) and her boyfriend.

DD#2 and her boyfriend are moving to Austin (Texas) next month. She is transferring to UT (university of Texas) to be a part of their dance program. Lots of expenses involved with that.

Our oldest DD just finished her degree in elementary/special education and still has 3 certification tests to get through and needs to find a job. We told her we are not paying for the cruise for her so she would have to come up with the $.

So many things up in the air. I hope we can make it though. This would be our 4th Disney cruise. Previously we have done a 7 day western on the Magic, a 5 day Bahamian on the Magic and last year the 7 day eastern on the Fantasy. We participated in FE on the last two and I headed up 2 of the 3 FE lists (helping with the 3rd) on the Fantasy cruise. That was a HUGE group which is why we had 3 lists.

I am keeping my fingers crossed that we can make it - but we won't know for sure for if we can and or if the "kids" can come along for a few months.

Glad to see this group up and running.

I happen to work onsite at Aldine ISD in Houston and they are hiring plenty this summer. I'm not sure if that's too far for your daughter, but starting pay for new teachers is $50k! Let me know if I can help. ;)

That is sooo kind of you. She has her degree but hasn't done her certification tests yet. She has to take 3 and has the first scheduled for 8/11.

Once she is certified she won't have a problem getting a job (or shouldn't). Our school district no longer offers this - but when she was in school they did.. they had a program called Elementary Teaching Internship. She went through it her Jr and Sr years of high school. When she got out she was handed a contract for our district that is good for when she got out of college and has her certification.

We are hoping she can snap one of the teachers aide jobs - especially one of the special ed ones. She did student teaching in a high school/special ed setting and LOVED it. She was in a reading/writing program and said she felt like that is where she is supposed to be.

We are keeping our fingers crossed.

Sounds like she has a plan! A TA job while getting her cert's is not a bad idea. :)

We just got back from WDW today. It was a great vacation but after cruising for the last 3 years I really missed it. Cruising is so relaxing for us compared to the touring at the parks. I'm exhausted! I need a vacation from the vacation.

We plan to go to WDW for a few days, then get on the cruise for that very reason! Hopefully get the best of both worlds.
