Thanks to my good friend Pam and her amazing notes, the tale of Star Bright can be told. We left you with the SOS call being made over head and a group of white shirts scurrying over to the little kid pool area, right near the pizza place. I went over to grab an ice cream cone and to see if I could snag a gander at the hub hub. While I couldn’t see much other than what appeared to be a brunette head, there was a woman next to me who told me that a woman had fallen, she was belligerent, and refused to allow anyone to help her up….ah belligerent, that’s a word to describe the AC at our table. I spoke with the woman for a few minutes and then got my ice cream.
When I got back from getting my ice cream Pam told me that the woman who had *fallen* had just passed by with the CMs and our suspicions were correct: it was indeed our table mate, the female adult child. The CMs looked very serious and the boyfriend was talking with one of the them but the girl said nothing.
Can you imagine? Almost missing the boat and now this?
Pam and I chewed the fat about what a total MESS these folks were. At this point we didn’t know much other that they were involved but that she fell, we weren’t buying it, and with good reason.
We chatted some more and made plans for the evening. We saw that Up would be playing on the Funnel Vision at 6 which would be perfect to watch before dinner at Triton’s at 8:15. We said our goodbyes and planned to meet up later.
Joshua and I headed up to the cabin for a snooze. Staying up so late did us both in and it was nap time.
We came back to a perfectly tidy cabin and this cute fella on the bed. He was one of the many very cool FE we had received. I plan to post about the FE gifts but at the end of the report.
We opened the door to the verandah to hear the ocean waves and turned on the tv. To our delight Sleeping Beauty was playing. We both love it. Joshua fell asleep right away. I dosed for about an hour and woke up refreshed. I went out to the deck to enjoy some fresh air. It was fairly windy and the ocean choppy. Love that gentle rocking.
Isn’t this darling?
While Joshua was still asleep I jumped in the shower and when I got out, he was awake. It was his turn next. Can I tell you how awesome those spilt bathrooms are?! I mean seriously. Disney hit a home run with those. It was so nice to be able to get ready without having to share space.
Our cozy cabin.
Joshua had plans to meet his friend Ellie. She wanted to watch Up too and they wanted to go in the jacuzzi.
We made it up to the deck in plenty of time. I grabbed some spots for the four of us. I also grabbed pizza and chicken fingers and fries. What is with the counter service food? It’s SO good and addicting. Pam soon met me and grabbed some pizza too.
It was quite windy on deck and I can’t believe Joshua and Ellie wanted to get wet.
Kids.
Right before the movie started who should Pam and I see but our table mates!!! The boyfriend was rather chatty and buzzed and she looked completely over sedated and drugged up. They came over. She sat with eyes half open and he while buzzed seemed coherent. We asked if she was okay and told him we saw them with the CMs earlier. He said she had a panic attack. Uh huh. I have worked on a locked adult psych unit for 11 years. There was WAY more going on than a panic attack but that’s what he was saying and we weren’t going to argue or pry. He clamored on about her anxiety and how she doesn’t party blah blah blah. It was quite entertaining and there was no reason to call BS as it generally unravels on its own.
As soon as they came, they were gone, and he said they’d see us at dinner.
We laughed our head’s off at what a couple of FOOLS they were and then got back to our wonderful cruise and how simply amazing it was to be haring this time together. We were brand new friends but it felt like we’d known each other for ages.
Aside from less wind, what more could we ask for? We were on a gorgeous Disney ship watching Up. Does it get any better?
Here are a few pics of the ship and the movie. They make a little teary. Such a happy trip, a magical evening.
Up next: dinner at Triton’s, more table mate fun, and a little shopping.
To be continued......
