Is Fantasmic! Package a must in October?

We will be in HS in October on a day with only one Fanstasmic! showing at 7:30p. Per your recommendations on here, we have ADR lunch at Sci Fi and Dinner at 50's Primetime. I was thinking I'd obtain a 4th Fastpass around noon for F! (after TSMM and two tier 2 selections). Will that be pushing it, or should I grab the F! lunch package available at lunch at MM even though our family has no interest in eating there? Thanks for your advice in advance:)

FP will get you reserved seating on the left side of the amphitheater adjacent to the Dining Package section. If you arrive at least 45 minutes before Fant, you'll be able to sit in the most centrally located sections of the FP area. You won't need the Dining Package.

We've done Fantasmic in February during busy times and never needed a package. We have seen it three times and never have seen the theater closed. It is a huge theater. The first time we got on line 1 1/2 hours in advance. The next time we got on line 30 minutes before and the line was all the way at the end of Sunset Blvd - close to the hat and never thought we would get in and we did with about 1/4 of the theater still empty. The last time we went on line at the last minute and also got in.

We love Sci-Fi and 50s and don't want to eat anywhere else - so we don't use the packages.

Enjoy!

Thank you thank you thank you for setting my mind at ease. Kinda angered me that I felt compelled to eat somewhere I had no interest in eating just to feel "locked in". Seeing F! as a tier 1 FP+ made me nervous that it would be next to impossible to get in otherwise.:yay::yay::yay:

You are very welcome. We are doing the same as you. Once we are done with our 3 FPs - we will try for a Fantasmic FP just not to have to wait on the line.

I would be curious to see if anyone ever got closed out - and not right before it starts.

They do have a pre-show the last two times we went. It was fun for the kids - if you got there early.

We are a party of 8, eating at 50's at 5:25p. Hopefully we can snag that 4th FP after lunch and then get over to F! after 50's. I'm also hoping dinner doesn't take too long!!

I haven't gotten closed out, but we have gotten there to find it quite packed and couldn't find seats. We stood against the wall for a little while and finally just left. That was in the first two weeks of December in 2012. We made sure to get there a lot earlier on our next attempt a few days later and had no problem. Oh, and I was so sure that the later show would be emptier than the first show and it was the later one that we couldn't get seats for! Go figure! I guess it all just depends on how many people were in the park that day. I do think that it was probably an EMH night since before doing hoppers, I always went to them. So that might have been part of it, too. Good luck!! :)
